The new apprentice, Woollypaw- formerly Woollykit- purred as he sat on an old fence post in the farmland a smile on his face. The curly-haired tom had recently become an apprentice and couldn't wait to begin training. His mentor was called Dreamwish, or something along those lines anyway. He couldn't quite remember.
He blinked his ocean blue eyes as he saw someone approach him, "Hi."

Melodysong had been out hunting, relishing the freedom after being confined to the nursery for so long. She loved her kits dearly, but there was never in peace in the make-shift nursery. As she padded into the barn, she saw her one son, Woollypaw, sitting by his lonesome. She padded over to him, and said, "Hey, Woollypaw. I wanted to congratulate you on becoming an apprentice! I'm so proud of you!" she purred with a smile.

Woollypaw meowed happily when his mother replied, "Mum!" He continued, grinning, "Thanks! I can't wait to start my training."

Melodysong smiled. "I'm so happy for you. I hope your training goes well! If you have any questions, just let me know, okay?" she said. She then thought a moment for something else to say. "So," she said after a moment. "What do you want your warrior name to be? Have you thought of anything cool?" she asked, truly curious.

Woollypaw smiled, "I like the name Woollypath but I'm going to let the leader decide."

"Sounds good. Woollypath has a nice ring to it, but you never know what the leader will decide." she said. Melodysong had been fortunate in getting her desired name, Melodysong. She knew it wasn't always like that though. You never knew what would happen next, and you didn't always get what you wanted.

Woollypaw nodded with a small smile, "What did you want to be called when you were younger?" He asked with a purr.

Melodysong thought for a moment. "I don't remember that many ideas I had too well, but I really like the name Melodysong. Always have." she said. She was sure she'd had other ideas for her warrior name, but Melodysong had always liked her name.

Woollypaw gave a purr, "Well I'm glad that you got the name you wanted. It suits you."

Melodysong Melodysong smiled. "Aw, thanks." she said. She didn't really know what else to talk about, but she was sure Woollypaw would have some idea. Maybe they could play a game, or something similar. Yes, that was what she'd ask. "So, do you want to play a game or something?" she asked.

"I dunno. You're probably too old for warriors, and I'm not supposed to encourage risky behavior such as truth or dare... Maybe we could just go on a real hunt? Whoever gets the most fresh-kill wins."

"Ok sure! Where we gonna go?" Woollypaw asked, shaking his curly pelt.

Melodysong thought for a moment. She wasn't very well acquainted with this farm territory yet, but there was one place where she could think of to go. It was out of the way so the rogues wouldn't likely find them, and there weren't any dangerous animals like adders that could harm her son. "I've got an idea." she said, giving Woollypaw a knowing smile. "It's a surprise though. It's also quite far. Why don't you get a mouse real quick, and then we can set out." she mewed.

give me time and give me space Woollypaw nodded to his mother with a smile, "Okay. I'll be right back." He spoke before padding off quickly to go and get a mouse from the makeshift fresh-kill pile. The apprentice began to eat it on his way back, trying not to drop any on the floor as he was walking back towards the other white feline.
"Okay, back. I can't wait to see outside the 'camp'. I've not been out yet."
