Creekpaw padded into the apprentices' den with his head down. He'd just been out on a training session with Amberflash, and he was very tired. He watched his paws as he walked, afraid of catching someone's attention, or accidentally looking someone in the eye.

Reaching his nest, he slowly stepped onto it and settled down, tucking his paws underneath himself.

Thistlepaw was breathing softly in his nest. He was unable to fall asleep although he was exhausted from trekking the territory with Flamewhisper. He was alerted by soft crunching as delicate paws tread beside him. The gray tom raised his head, looking around. He caught sight of a black and white apprentice. The cat had an unfamiliar scent, though Thistlepaw knew it was a tom. He eyed him, wondering if he was awake.

Creekpaw scanned over the apprentices' den, ignoring a few sleeping bodies. He wanted to see if anyone was awake. If anyone was watching him. Judging him. Finally his eyes rested on a gray and white apprentice, similar to his brother. The tom gave him a shy smile before looking down at the ground.

[Thistlepaw]

Thistlepaw made eye contact with the other apprentice, grinning shyly back. He looked down at his paws, shuffling them in the soft moss awkwardly. He glanced back up, speaking quickly. "Hello. I'm Thistlepaw."

"Hello. I'm Thistlepaw."

Creekpaw couldn't help but chuckle. 'This cat shares a name and a pelt with my brother. I wonder if they share a personality, too.' He slowly looked up again. "Nice to meet you. I'm Creekpaw."

[Thistlepaw]

Was this cat laughing at him? Thistlepaw felt the fur bristle on his spine. "Nice to meet you, erm, Creekpaw." He felt his fur flattened, and tried his best to smile.

Creekpaw had picked up the tom's uneasyness. He was too familiar with it himself, so it was easy to tell when another cat was the same. He frowned, taking a pause. 'What did I do...?' He thought for a moment. 'Oh no, I laughed, didn't I?' His eyes widened a little. "I-I'm not laughing at-at you. I'm laughing because my-my brother has the s-same name."

[Thistlepaw]

Thistlepaw's ears pricked suddenly. "You know Thistlepaw- the other one?" He asked eagerly. That was who Creekpaw looked like!

A purr started to rise in his throat. His raised his head, eyes closed happily. "Y-Yeah! Is he-Is he your friend?"

[Thistlepaw]

Thistlepaw flicked his tail happily. "We were friends when we were kits! It's been awhile since we have talked now though."

"Hmm..." He rested his head back down, opening his eyes and giving Thistlepaw a smile. "I-I bet you'll talk again soon."

[Thistlepaw]

"I hope so." Thistlepaw said quietly. He looked down at his paws, realizing his claws were dug deep into his bedding. He pulled them out, soil coating his toes. Thistlepaw raised his head again, looking over at Creekpaw. "Do you have a mentor?"

Creekpaw nodded. "Amberflash." He answered, getting to his paws and sitting up. Amberflash was a good mentor as far as he could tell, though they'd only seen the borders. 'I hope I get to know her better when battle and hunting training comes along.' "Do-Do you have a mentor?"

Thistlepaw stretched out his stiff limbs, yawning sleepily as he listened to Creekpaw. "Herm, I have never met her." He admitted. Thistlepaw nodded vigorously. "Flamewhisper. She is a good mentor, but she has twice the energy I have. I seem like an old cat compared to her!"

He looked at his paws. 'Flamewhisper.' That was his aunt or something, right? He wasn't too sure. "W-Well, I've never met your mentor, either. She sounds like a pawful." Creekpaw giggled. "B-But at least training sessions won't get boring."
