@bark
Melodysong had finished training her apprentices for the day, and she wasn't sure what to do. She wasn't very tired, and she was in the mood to go for a hunt. However, she didn't want to go alone, because it could be dangerous for a young warrior such as she to be out and about alone in a relatively unknown territory that is shared with dangerous cats. She saw Wolfbark, a warrior whose training she completed, and wondered if he would like to go hunting with her...

Wolfbark padded around the farmhouse, searching for someone to talk to. He took a few turns, eyes finally landing on Melodysong. It looked like she had seen him, too. Grinning, the tom padded over and gave her a small dip of the head. "Hey, Melodysong. What's up?"

Melodysong smiled as the tom walked up to her. She was afraid, for a second, he might not see her, and she'd be stuck in this barn the rest of the day. She dipped her head to the younger warrior, and then sighed in response to his question. "I've been alright. I really want to go hunting though; there's nothing to do around here. You game?" she asked, deciding to just skip straight to the point. No point in small talk unless you didn't know the cat to well.

"Sure!" Wolfbark chirped, glancing at the exit. 'It'll be fun to go out there with her again. I wonder if she'll try to teach me something.' He thought in amusement, quickly looking back and forth between the warrior and the entrance. "Race you!" He exclaimed, sprinting off.

Melodysong Melodysong laughed, and bounded off after Wolfbark, close on his trail. She hadn't had fun like this in a while....and she felt like this was going to be fun. She kept pace, and came to a halt once she caught the scent of a squirrel some tail-lengths away. "Do you smell that?" she whispered.

He lifted his head and sniffed the air, quickly catching the scent of a squirrel. He cautiously padded forward, staying as alert as possible. "Yeah. Where's it at?" Maybe they could catch it as a team.

Melodysong rolled her eyes, "Over there." She said, once again gesturing to the animal with her tail. "You wanna sneak up behind him and scare him towards me?" Melodysong asked.

He followed the direction of her tail, eyes landing on the squirrel. He gave a nod to her question, beginning to creep forward. Soon he was at the squirrel's side, and from there he moved very slowly to the prey's behind.
Wolfbark leaped forward and crashed into some leaves, making the squirrel perk up and skitter away toward Melodysong. 'Come on, catch it!'

Melodysong pounced towards the squirrel. She was but a tail length away when the squirrel jumped to the side and scurried away. She landed on the ground, empty handed. She looked up at Wolfbark, a small smile forming on her muzzle. "Sorry about that..." she said, a little embarrassed. "It got away." she said, even though it was plainly obvious.

Wolfbark watched in interest, only sighing a little when she missed the catch. He gave a small purr, trotting over. "No worries. We'll find one of his friends to catch." He flicked his tail, starting to pad off. They didn't have time to waste.

(Sorry for the late reply!)
Melodysong smiled wickedly. "You're right. Those little squirrels better watch out...." she said, a hint of mischievous emotion lacing her voice. "Why don't you try the next one? I'm sure you'll catch one for sure!" she meowed.
