SwiftstrikeAretepaw really wanted to get to know her father, Swiftstrike, a little bit better. She followed his scent into the camp clearing, near the fresh-kill pile. Sitting down next to him, she said, "Hey dad, how're you?" (Sorry for the short post.)

it's fine :3 Swiftstrike had just finished off a small mouse from the fresh-kill pile. He was planning on taking a nap after his snack, or maybe doing a bit of hunting so that he could have another snack and then take a nap. He was leaning towards the first option, because it required less work and more napping, but his plans were interrupted when he heard another cat address him.
"Oh, hey kiddo," the black-and-white Warrior mewed coolly, although his paws went cold at the word "dad". He had been okay with being a father at first, but the closer he it had gotten to his kits being born the more nervous it made him--and like most responsibilities that made him anything other than confident, he had spent a lot of time avoiding his children. There was also the underlying fear that he might accidentally step and squish one of his children, not that it was likely anymore. Well, he at least believed his kids would be big enough by now to not get squished. Then again, his paws were pretty big. "Pretty good. A little bored, but that's not a death sentence. What've you been up too?" he smiled smoothly, one his ears quirking in curiosity as he awaited an answer from Arêtepaw and tried not to seem nervous.

Arêtepaw chuckled. "Yes, being bored isn't exactly a death sentence....usually. At least, not for most." Arêtepaw stopped there, not really sure where she was going with her statement. She instead decided to focus on the next part of his question - how she was. "I'm doing alright. Training's really fun! I can't wait to be a warrior!" she said with a happy little laugh. She would be a warrior soon enough; maybe she could even go hunting with her father! That would be fun...

Swiftstrike grinned as he listened to his daughter speak, somewhat amazed at how quickly she had grown. It stirred up thoughts of how his litter and FireClan was doing. He didn't even know if they had been born yet, or what their named would be when they were born. He shook away the thought, focusing instead on Arêtepaw. "I'm glad to hear it. I should take you out for a hunt after your ceremony, to celebrate," he mewed, reaching over with his tail and ruffling the fur on her head in a playful and affectionate manner, "we could take your brother, Goldenpaw, too, if you would like? Unless you would like it to be more of a father-daughter hang out," he quirked an ear, wondering if the she-cat liked the idea.

Arêtepaw smiled at her father's suggestions. "I'd love to go for a hunt!" she exclaimed, excited and somewhat amazed that her father had practically read her mind. As for the hunt.... "I think it'd be fun either way! Goldenkit, sorry I mean Goldenpaw now, and I have been getting to know each other. It'd be fun hunting with him." she said.

"Awesome," Swiftstrike purred, already looking forward to the hunt. Not only would he get to spend time with his kids, but he'd also get to show off his hunting skills. A win-win for him. "I'm glad you two are getting along," the tom mewed with a grin, "I'm not particularly close with my siblings, I mean, we don't fight or anything, but we don't hang that often either. It's cool to know you two talk," he tipped his head to the side, remembering something, "oh, and speaking of my siblings, how's Mothflight doing? She's your mentor, right?"

(Sorry for the late reply!)
Arêtepaw smiled and nodded cheerfully. "Yep, you bet she is!" she said, happy that her father paid enough attention to her to know who her mentor was. "She's doing fine. I haven't really gotten to know her though, she doesn't seem to be around much anymore." she said. Ara was pretty much done with her training, but still....seeing her mentor more often would be nice.
