[Icypaw]

She only nodded feeling a bit unsure as the reply
she was given held little info though she was sure
IceClan would be alright if they were anything like
RockClan right?"Hmm" she thought of a fish, and
shook her head they didn't sound like something
she would like to eat. "And they eat them on purpose?"
she twiched her whiskers. "So what are we to do now?"
she chirped looking around, still excited though her paws
ached from all the movement of the day. Her paws not used
to the strain. 

[Palefire]

"Yeah, they do." Hailspirit wrinkled her nose in disgust. She didn't like the taste of fish very much, and couldn't imagine living in IceClan where that was the main meal. She hummed softly when Icypaw asked a question. "We could go hunting. Follow me." She leaped down from the boulders, then started heading deeper into RockClan territory.

The warrior took quick, choppy steps as they reached a stream. The ground surrounding it was muddy and wet, and it didn't feel very pleasant against her fur. With a few hops she reached dry land, and hoped that Icypaw had done the same. 'Lizards do like the wet terrain, don't they?' She sniffed the air at the thought of this, and caught a whiff of lizard. She turned and slowly padded back to the muddy ground. "Can you smell anything?"

[Icypaw]

Scrunching up her nose in displease she forgot about
the fish as soon as hunting was brought up. She bounced
after HailSpirit. Pausing as they came to a small mass of
moving water she paused, and looked down at it and purred
as her own image shown back at her. She felt the mud and
smiled it was squishy but she seemed to like it, though the
smell made her think twice. Jumping across as her mentor
had done she sniffed as commanded and reported. "Besides
the stream...hmm" she scrunched her eyes as if not sure what
the smell what. "Is that lizard?"

[Palefire]

"Mhm." She sniffed the air again, and slowly crept in that direction. "Watch closely." She perked her ears, catching the quiet scuttle of a lizard zipping away. She followed behind, tracing it to a bundle of reeds. As silent as she could, Hailspirit moved closer until she was within a whisker-length.

The warrior shot out a paw, successfully pinning down the lizard's body. It struggled under her grasp, and she dragged it closer to give it the killing bite before it could get away. Gripping the small body in her jaws, she padded back to Icypaw and dropped it. "I want you to track down a lizard and catch it yourself. You can do it." She purred, taking a seat.

[Icypaw]

Watching amased as the feline was able to hunt,
isnit she blind? Icy thought. Shrugging as the kill
was made she purred "Good catch" however she
grew unsure as the tables were turned. "M-me
H-unt" she looked around as if someone else was
up to the task. Sighing she weaved her tail in the
air as she tried to scent more lizards with a few
moments she couldn't detect anything. "I don't
Thin-" pausing me senctance she spotted a quick
moving reprile. how did I miss that? she wondered.
Crouching as HailSpirt had she intched forward. Once
finally reaching the prey she paused. Hesitating a bit
to long the lizard seemed to skitter away Icy was lucky
enough to get one paw on it though it was no glamourus
catch she reaturned still thrilled she had caught it. Laying
it down for Hailspirit, "Umm done"

Hailspirit listened closely as Icypaw set off. She caught the sound of a lizard skittering around, and wondered if Icypaw had heard it. 'You can do it!'

Hailspirit purred loudly when Icypaw returned to her with her catch. "You did it! Congratulations!" She exclaimed, giving the lizard a sniff. She then lifted her head and sniffed again, catching the scent of a sparrow. "Now, go and try to catch that bird. Make sure to snag its wing so it can't get away, then deliver the bite. I believe in you!"

[Icypaw]

She smiled as praise was given however the grin quickly faded.
"A bird" she squaked she didn't even know the steps to hunting
a flying creature. She suddenly felt very unsure but at the will
of her teacher she padded in search of the hunt. Crouching as
she had before she noted if she wanted to catch it springing
would make more sence after all it would fly away before she
had the chance if she tried to creep up on it. A few steps closer
she lept, barley missing the bird. It took the the air she jumped
but was only able to catch a feather. falling back down she grunted
and glared at the feather caught between her claws.

[Palefire]

Hailspirit followed behind Icypaw when she set off. Sniffing the air and listening closely, she could tell that it was a little tricky for her. She twitched her whiskers at the sound of a loud thump, the bird's scent nowhere around. "That's alright, it's your first time. Try again."

[Icypaw]

She was a bit annoyed with her self. With a grumble
to show her displease. She shook her head "I made
enough noise to scare any close prey hunting would
be pointless" she sighed looking up at her mentor and
she asked for the first time bringing it to attention.
"Hey um HailSpirit. How do you hunt so well... I mean with out umm"

[Palefire]

"Don't give up! I know you can do it." She leaned down to gently touch Icypaw's nose, then straightened up once she asked a question. "It's not too hard when you're used to it." She said quietly. Hailspirit was expecting a similar question, though since Icypaw hadn't mentioned it yet she didn't think it would come up. "Now come on, try and catch a bird! I'll let you eat whatever you catch."

[Icypaw]

She sighed, still uncertain. Listening to a small 
explanation she muttered to her self a bit a bit
louder she added "so are you used to it then?".
Not saying anything else about the felines blind
state. She felt a bit more sure but for the sake
of fun added. "So if I miss and attack a branch,
you'd be feasting of leafs tonight?" she purred
at the thought. "Alright I'll give it another go"
she scampered in search of a new scent.

[Palefire]

"Yes and yes. So you better catch something good!" She laughed lightly at the end, indicating it was a joke. "I'll be pleased as long as you do your best. You can do it!" Hailspirit encouraged, following silently once Icypaw set off.

[Icypaw]

She gave a small purr, hailspirit was kind.
Just the kind of motivation Icypaw needed.
Nodding she called over her fluffy shoulder
"You bet your Tail ill do my best" she trotted
off listening and scenting for any type of prey.
Bingo. she turned until she was facing the direction
of the mouse. Scrunching her self forward she made
a bee-line for the food. Once in range she lept though
due to inexperience it was not nearly as neat as if should
have been. Of course her luck let her make the kill.
Returning with it she purred "For you!" she placed it
in-front of hailspirit.

Hailspirit stopped walking when she could no longer hear Icypaw's steps. She sniffed the air, catching a whiff of mouse. 'She must be going after that.' The warrior was confident that she could catch it.

She purred loudly when Icypaw made the catch, giving it a few prods when she placed it down. It felt like a good-sized mouse. She shook her head at the offer. "Oh, I couldn't! You deserve it." She padded away and collected the two lizards. "You can bring the mouse back to camp. I think the other apprentices will be very jealous."

[Icypaw]

She stood tall as she was given praise. "Oh no
you said what ever I caught would be yours
though" she offered once more. Picking up the
prey she followed after her mentor as they
fetched the previous hunt. "Do you really
think so?" she mumbled around mouse fur.
