Azrael studied her dark brown reflection in the water with a light frown. Swishing her tail behind her, Azrael ignored the prickling feeling against her back and simply licked the fur of her chest down. Who knew if someone of her family was watching her? Regardless, Azrael didn't care. Well.. maybe she did. Just a little bit.
Flicking a paw through the water, Azrael felt the water soak in like a weird sponge. She could taste the sweet tang of it as a few droplets landed near her muzzle. Whiskers quivering slightly, Azrael got to her feet and stretched out her body. The she-cat leaned in close to the water, where she lapped quietly at the river's surface.

Michael had a mission.
His parents had sent him after the sole runaway of their family. Azrael. She'd left the family after killing Zachariah for whatever reason but their parents still worried for her. Michael didn't question the reasoning behind his parent's desires. Still, they couldn't just pop in and out to check on Azrael where she was right now...
So Michael followed his little sister into Deathclan for the sole purpose to keep an eye on her for their parent's sakes. He didn't need much more of a reason.
Right now, he was watching Azrael by the riverside. She seemed to be taking a drink. Michael decided he needed to reveal himself. Azrael had... Almost noticed him several times. He figured it would be best for him to give Azrael the realization that he was there, lest she throw herself into danger out of fear.
He approached his sister and called out calmly. "Azrael."

"Azrael."
The dark furred she-cat would have fell face first into the river hadn't she braced herself before she took her drink. Wide electric yellow eyes shifted over to the silvery form of her eldest brother. What in Dark Pool? Mentally, she let out an exhausted sigh. Outwardly, the expression on her face shifted several emotions. Anger. Fear. Annoyance. Exasperation. Loneliness. Sadness.
Finally it settled on exasperation. " What. " Azrael slowly let the word slide out, while inwardly she tried to not descend into an anxiety attack. " Are you doing here? " Releasing her breath, Azrael just wanted to slide in the water and disappear forever from her brother.

Michael noted that Azrael had been thoroughly shocked by his sudden calling out for her.
Perhaps he should've been more gentle. His younger sister turned around and their eyes met. She let out a sigh that seemed to make her seem older almost. Her eyes seemed to flip through several different emotions, like a film reel. He watched her face impassively.
Azrael seemed to not understand what Michael was doing there. Strange. He would've thought she knew their family well enough to know the answer without needing to ask.
"You left. Father and Mother worried. You've come here to Deathclan. I came as well to fulfill our parent's desires to keep you safe." He stated.

Azrael wanted to bury herself in the sand. She knew her family would send at least someone after her. But Michael? Good lord. Inhaling deeply, Azrael ignored her brother's bluntness and gave him a critical look. Of course her parents would worry for her, but they should be furious at her! Furious for killing one of their precious children. Even if she was one of them.
" Ergh. " she grunted out. " I thought they would have sent Castiel. " she spoke rather bluntly, but she didn't really care. Scoffing inwardly at the 'safe' sentence, she started muttering to herself. " Why did they send someone after me? " she bemoaned her fate by proceeding to smash her face in the ground.

If Michael was honest...
He never really liked Zachariah much anyways. He was somehow extremely bossy and a horrible suck-up to Michael simultaneously. He never seemed to respect their parents the way that Michael thought all of his siblings should. So yes... He probably should be mourning for his younger brother more than he actually was. Except he didn't feel guilt about it considering he had a mission.
"Castiel must help our parents care for our other surviving and loyal siblings." He meowed sternly. "You cannot be trusted to not run off without supervision, thus I must watch over you and prevent you from making unwise decisions." He looked around, distaste clear on his face. "I must say... It's clear I'm a little late."

A little bit late?
Azrael scoffed mentally. Giving her older brother a deeply amused look, Azrael shifted her weight before making her way next to her older brother. If she had to admit it, Azrael wasn't totally prepared for going off on her own. " Yeah, yeah. " she muttered quietly. " Missed you too, Mikey. "
Then she hesitated slightly. " I have to admit it has been lonely. " she admitted, looking like as if it was a painful thing to do. " Only thing that kept me going from completely bonkers was talking to Zacharias's skull. "

Michael felt sorry for his little sister.
Without their parents guidance the poor girl had clearly lost her mind. She had kept the skull of their deceased brother, Zachariah. He said nothing as Azrael moved closer to be beside Michael. He didn't say anything of her actions. He listened to everything she had to say. He... Allowed the butchering of his name to slide. She'd done it all too many times before. He learned to live with it, since she clearly had no intentions of stopping.
"You are not alone now." He pointed out. "Though, it is admittedly strange you have kept the skull of Zachariah." He looked his sister in the eyes. "Perhaps you should bury it. I do not believe it would be wise to encourage an image of yourself as a psychotic murderer."
