Romeo stumbled his way through the undergrowth, senses overwhelmed with various woodland scents and the chatter of birds and whistling wind pounding against his ears. A scowl was plastered to his face. The skinny tabby gave up, settling down in the middle of a clearing. "This blows," he groaned.

Jude bounded through DeathClan's territory, stopping and sniffing the air every few badger-lengths. He was determined to find his friend. It broke his heart to see her run off and he needed to apologize. He skidded into a clearing, stopping at the sound of a groan. He focused on Romeo. 'Maybe they've seen Natalia?'
He walked up to him, tipping his head to the side. "What blows?"

He heard the soft thuds of paws on the ground, and his shoulders stiffened cautiously. His ears flattened, and Romeo kept his mouth shut. "What blows?" He didn't know if he should respond to that—Romeo knew he was someone who'd be easy to prey upon. "Not your business," he murmured, pointedly refusing to meet the other tom's gaze. No need to screw himself over doing that.

'Not my business?' The tabby rolled his eyes. "Then why did you say it out loud? Someone was bound to hear." He pointed out, wondering why Romeo had flattened his ears. Jude didn't look too threatening, so unless the cat was blind then there was no reason to be afraid. 'Maybe he's just high-strung.' He thought, trying to meet Romeo's gaze. 'Or maybe he's just shy?'

Romeo scoffed, and his smart mouth started to run, "Oh, sorry, was a blabberin' too much? Hold on lemme say it a little louder; I don't think the whole forest heard me yet." Honestly, Romeo could tell perhaps a little better than Jude how loud he was, and he guessed the tom was already pretty near the skinny male to detect his voice. He couldn't exactly tell Jude's reaction apart from the intonations in his voice, but Romeo was never the most tolerable cat in the forest.

Jude thumped his tail against the ground, becoming slightly irritated. "All I'm saying is that if you didn't want someone to ask then you shouldn't have said anything at all." 'This is just a waste of time. My words aren't going to get to him.' He sighed. 'Then again, it'd be interesting to see what kind of remark he comes up with next.' Jude took a seat at the thought of this, ready to be entertained.

Romeo couldn't resist the tiniest smirk of satisfaction. He'd struck a little nerve, it sounded like. Still gazing at the general direction of his paws, Romeo rolled his eyes. "And all I'm saying is you don't gotta open that trap of yours every time you hear something." His posture remained tense, but now his ears had relaxed just a fraction. He still couldn't trust this guy, couldn't trust anyone really. "What're you still doing bummin' around here?"

Jude listened silently, shrugging when Romeo finished with a question. "Not your business." He copied the words from earlier, a light chuckle escaping him. 'Who does this cat think he is?' He followed their gaze to their paws, whiskers twitching in curiousity. They'd been staring at them the entire time. 'What's so interesting about them?' They looked like regular old paws. "My eyes are up here, pal." It was only common curtesy to make eye contact. Then again, It didn't sound like Romeo held politeness as a priority.

Romeo made a small noise in the back of his throat. "Okay," he finally said with a nonchalant shrug. It'd be his waste of time, anyway, not Romeo's. "My eyes are up here, pal." Foxdung. Romeo schooled his face quickly into that of mild aversion, none of the panic trickling into his expression. He couldn't let that happen. "Nah," he sniffed, "rather not traumatise myself with your ugly mug." He grinned wickedly. "No offense, of course," he drawled in a jest.

Jude flicked an ear. "None taken. Though how would you know I'm ugly if you never looked up? You must be curious." He paused, thinking for a moment. He couldn't come up with a reason for this cat's averted gaze. 'He's definitely not shy. Maybe he's hiding something?' But what would he hide? A weakness would be the obvious answer, though what kind of weakness would be on-
Then it clicked. "It must be hard, living as a blind cat in DeathClan."

The tabby shrugged again. "Don't need to. I guess I just have a natural.. fifth sense about the attractiveness of—" Romeo stopped. "It must be hard, living as a blind cat in Deathclan." A warning snarl rumbled in his throat. "Shut your mouth or I'll do it for ya."

Jude smiled, pleased that his guess was correct. He held in a laugh at the cat's threat. 'A blind youngling? I'd feel bad just flicking him." He didn't have anything to say in response, though remembered that Romeo had told him to shut his mouth. He didn't want to sound like he was obeying that. "Do you have a name?"

At first, Romeo thought Jude actually had the sense to do what he'd snapped at him to do. But he thought too late. "I dunno. You already seem fond of callin' me like I am—blind."

Jude watched him in interest, trying to get a glimpse of his face. He hadn't met a blind cat before, and wondered if they looked any different. "Yes, but I'd much rather call you by your name than having to refer to you as 'that blind cat'"

He hesitated. The tom had been on his own from the moment he'd started a life out in the wild, and part of the reason he survived this long was because he chose not to put his trust in others. "Who's to say you ain't gonna go to your head honcho or whatever and rat on me? Eliminate me or whatever the hell you wild cats do to get rid of weak competition." He finally lifted his head, angling it towards where he could detect Jude's voice from.
