Thistlepaw had begun to feel comfortable with his life as an apprentice. He had fallen at ease with his training schedule, even the early mornings felt more and more usual, even if he disliked it. Hunting began to feel natural to him, though it took hard work to learn he could certainly say it had payed off. Perhaps even the fighting was alright. Thistlepaw had gotten used to his size, and learned to use his speed well even if he couldn't deal a strong blow. The initial struggle over friendships had diminished as well and Thistlepaw felt content. It didn't mean however, he had forgotten about his old friends. It was one friend in particular he had missed especially lately. He hadn't spoken with his sister, Falconkit (though he assumed she was "paw" now) since he had moved into the apprentice's den.
In fact, he was in that den at the moment. The sun's golden rays had faded into a pale pinkish light which filtered through the cracks in the den. Thistlepaw had payed no attention as to whether the den was occupied or not when he had stumbled in, with a full belly and drooping eyelids. After the hard day of training, he had felt hungry as ever and his paws were about to fall off. It was only when he had gotten into his nest, and rested his head on his paws that his exhaustion faded away. He let out an annoyed sigh and shifted around in his nest.
