Tigerpaw Tigerpaw blinked with a blank face before continuing in the direction. His nose twitched, confused about his mentor, but tried to sniff something out. Mouse? he thought, trying to find the scent, and the animal. It took some time until he spotted a mouse, but he frowned, Do I just.. he thought, crouching down, but he noticed the mouse was gone already. Wait.. what did I do wrong?

Ivystem didn't bother to follow. She stifled a yawn, then casually began grooming her fur. She could wait all day. 'I just hope he's back here soon. It's going to be hot today.'

Tigerpaw Tigerpaw gave a huff, trying to find another scent. He scented something else familiar when he took trips to the fresh-kill pile, but he couldn't distinguish it. He just followed the scent, before spotting a pale grey bird, sitting on a rock. But.. it flies.. he thought, trying to get out of it's line of sight slowly, before crawling forward. When he was close, he tried to not gaze away, and jumped at it with his claws out, barely hitting it's side. As it made noise and moved, he was hesitant to bite it, making it a rather messy first catch. He noticed it was small, and since his inexperience, not very appetizing. But his heart raced at the sight of it, excited. That was difficult! he thought, but picked up the bird and brought it back to Ivystem.

Ivystem held a straight face when Tigerpaw returned with his prey. 'That was quick. He did a good job.' "Really? That won't even feed a kit. Oh well, I guess it'll do..." She paused, a smile starting to appear on her face. She was sure it must've looked odd. "Are you tired?"

Tigerpaw Tigerpaw looked at her, Is she pleased? he thought with excitement, ignoring her comment about it's size. When he was about to answer her question, he was going to say 'yes', since the rather small bird tired him. "No, I can still do things."

Her smile widened. That was just the answer she was looking for. Of course she knew the small bird must've been hard to catch, considering it was his first one. It looked like he was getting the hang of things. "Good. Use that energy to lead me back to camp. Tomorrow we'll begin battle training."

Tigerpaw Tigerpaw felt disappointed, yet relieved, and nodded stiffly. He held the bird in his jaws, then tried to remember where they came from. He decided to try to follow the old scent trail, trying to remember the surroundings.

Ivystem followed him back to camp, already thinking of the lesson plan for tomorrow. Maybe training Tigerpaw wouldn't be such a bother after all. He was really shaping up.

Tigerpaw Walking into camp, he looked back at his mentor, he decided it was a good time for a nap soon, his ears twitching with patience.
