Acacias in the den (O)

[Acacialight]

Acaciapaw sighed padding into the apprentice's den

Her icy blue eyes scanned her surrondings before she padded towards her nest. Acaciapaw layed down in her nest before staring at the exit of the den. She was not in the mood to sleep. The brown and white tabby caught a cat scent near her. "Hello?"

[Nightpaw]

Nightpaw entered the den with a small mouse in his jaws, just as a she-cat called into the darkness. He had just gotten back from night hunting alone, and was starving. But conversation sounded nice. The tomcat walked over to the apprentice, settled down close to her -- wow, their nests were almost right beside one another? How odd -- and put down the mouse. "Hello there," he replied.

[Acacialight]

Acaciapaw smiled when another apprentice walked towards her. "Hi, I'm Acaciapaw, who are you?" The brown and white tabby asked, excited to finally meet another apprentice. Her ears were pricked up to hear the tom-cats reply. Acaciapaw then realized that maybe asking more questions might overwhelm the tom so she decided to stay quiet until he replied to her questions.

[Nightpaw]

Nightpaw smiled at that, glad she was friendly. For a moment he had expected to be shunned away by the she-cat. Either for his eye color, strange pelt, or maybe just him in general. But no. She was nice.

Maybe he could make a friend? He's never had one of those....

"I'm Nightpaw, named after the nightheron." he explained, as it was something he was proud of. His head tilted curiously. "What is an 'acacia'? It's an interesting name."

[Acacialight]

Acaciapaw smiled. "Nightpaw is a nice name." She murmured before thinking about the question he had asked her. 

"Umm.. An acacia is a type of... tree yeah I think it was a tree. I think but I've never seen an acacia before." Acaciapaw told him. Why were me and Acerolakit named after trees? Are trees special to our family or it has something to do with TreeClan? She thought.

[Nightpaw]

Nightpaw dipped his head, "Thank you. But honestly, 'night' is a little too common for my taste." he admitted.

The tomcat snatched up this information instantly. As he loved learning new things, it was interesting to hear about a new type of tree. And to find a cat named after the acacia... that was interesting. "Oooh. But they must be around somewhere. Haven't you ever been curious as to where?" Personally, he has seen a nightheron. As quickly as it had been there, the bird had flown away, though. "Even if it's outside of TreeClan, it would be an adventure, wouldn't it?"

[Acacialight]

Acaciapaw shook her head.

"No" She murmured. Acaciapaw thought about. But it would be fun to go on an adventure with Acerolakit when she's an apprentice. Discovering the trees that we were named after would be so cool. "Yeah it would be pretty awesome to go on an adventure."  Acaciapaw spoke. "So how's your training been going?"

[Nightpaw]

Nightpaw pouted a bit at the easy 'no'. Though Acaciapaw then said adventure would be awesome. He smiled again, although it faltered at her question. "Oh, um...."

The tomcat looked away, his blue and green eyes uneasy. "I... I kinda don't have a mentor to teach me. Not anymore. Fadingnight went to FireClan, and I don't know where Foxstrike went. But... I'm not the best apprentice, so I don't blame them for disappearing honestly." He shrugged.

"What about you?"

[Acacialight]

Acaciapaw blinked.

"I feel so sorry for you, hopefully Foxstrike will come back to train you." She murmured before looking at her paws. "Umm... I kinda disappeared when I was halfway through the territory tour. My mentor has been gone since, his name was Spottedheart. Do you know him by any chance?"

[Nightpaw]

Nightpaw shrugged at that with a soft smile. "Yeah, I hope so too... although I wouldn't want to trouble him if he does return." he meowed, giving his ears a light twitch. "If you see him, let me know, though. Foxstrike is blind, so he shouldn't be too hard to point out...."

As Acaciapaw asked about her mentor, the speckled tomcat slowly shook his head. "No, I'm... I'm really sorry about that. I haven't seen a Spottedheart around." Quickly, though, he offered a encouraging smile. "But I'll keep my eyes open for him from now on."

Acaciapaw kinda smiled.

"Thanks." The brown and white tabby murmured before thinking about Nightpaw's mentor. 'Who's Foxstrike, I haven't heard of him before.' Acaciapaw thought before sighing and looking at Nightpaw. "So what do you like to do?" The brown and white tabby asked.

[Nightpaw]

Nightpaw shuffled his paws awkwardly with a shrug. "I-I honestly like learning. New information, stories, facts... um... I just enjoy learning new things. And I like telling cats cool facts, too."
