Dapplecloud(Sorry this thread is late. was super busy) In the heart of rockclan camp sat a large brown tom. he was silent except for the sound of him chewing on the vole between his out stretched forepaws. he gazed out across the empty camp. the morning air was clouded with a ligh damp fog and all was silent throughout the forest. the camp had a dreary air that made spruceclaw shiver slightly. he had been away for a little while but had returned now. he now struggled to jump back into the everyday routine that he had lived by before. his apprentices had moved on, those that hadn't weren't around anyways. he had lost his connections across the borders and with many of the cats he had once known in his own clan. He now tried to find friends wherever he could. that was what had led him into conversatiobd with the new clan memeber clove and any of his offspring that were still around. still it wasn't enough for him he found himself with more than enough time on his hands and nothing to spend it on. However it was on daus like this when the fog hung in the air and the dew clung to the blades of grass and all was silent where e found true peace. strangely it seemed that the day held other plans for him. soon a distant but still familial scent filled his nostrils and he turned to see a familiar cat walking by. "Well hello there stranger." he mewed calling out to his former mentor as an apprentice like grin spread over his face. (Sorry if this is a bit awkward start but didn't want to start it with the generic "hey watch where you step" thing so this is the best i got.)

Dapplecloud (That's fine! I've been busy, too.) The morning brought a crisp breeze to the camp, ruffling my fur as I got up from my nest in the warriors' den. I had woken up a bit later than I had planned to, but it was still early: I could still see faint tinges of dark blue in the sky, a reminder of the clear night before. Stretching and yawning widely, I picked my way out of the den, past the other sleeping cats. Dew clung to the leaves and delicate scraps of fog hung over the mountain camp, shrouding some of the cats within it. However, a familiar scent caught my attention through the dewy air. As I turned around, I heard, "Well, hello there, stranger." I turned around, knowing who it was, and responded, "Hello there, Spruceclaw. Good to see you, too."

Spruceclaw stretched and stood up. he padded over to his mentor. "Its been a while. what've you been up to?" he asked curiously. he missed his apprentice days. they had been the most exciting time in his life and he longed for that feeling again. Before he had gone away he had been bored with warrior life but as of right now it was pretty good.he was a little sad that his apprentices had moved on but he clouldnt really blame them.

Dapplecloud "Not much, just the normal warrior duties. Though the heat is almost making me wish it was leaf-fall." I said, purring. I was glad that it was morning now, when it wasn't quite as hot. Though this greenleaf had been quite normal and uneventful, and I was grateful for that. It was also a good thing to see more familiar faces, such as Windswirl, or my own former apprentice. "How about you?" I asked. "Anything apart from normal things happening?"

Spruceclaw smiled and nodded in exaggerated agreement as she mentioned the heat "ill definitely agree with you on that." he mewed. He pondered over her next question. wondering if he should mention his grandchild in treeclan. other than thay he hadn't really been up to anything. "No, nothing much. i met the new cat in the clan, clove. you met her yet?" He asked curiously.
(So sorry for my late reply. YouTube has kept me busy this past week.)

Dapplecloud "Yes. I was curious as to how she was accepted, but I didn't ask." I said. She had been polite, though my suspicion of rogues and other Clans made it a bit hard to be trusting. "Got any apprentices at the moment?" I asked as the conversation went silent for a moment. (Sorry for the short post)

Spruceclaw nodded "i think she was accepted rather well. she seems to have a high regard of you." he mewed "i guess you made her feel pretty welcome." he mewed with a smile. "No most of my old apprentices have moved on or vanished. Hopefully i can get another one soon." He mewed hopefully. "But i think my daughter will soon be a warrior. so ill definitely be at that ceremony, maybe ill get an apprentice too." he mewed. "What about you? any apprentices as great as me." he mewed with his trademark cocky grin.

Dapplecloud "I'm glad to hear your daughter is becoming a warrior. I'm sure whoever her mentor was trained her well." I said. I was happy to hear this, though it may have been because I had no kits of my own. Shaking the thought away like a bothersome fly, I replied to his question. "No, you were my last apprentice. Though I may get one again soon, who knows?"(Sorry for late post, I got sick. >.<)

(No worries, if anyone should be apologizing for late post it should be me. Hope you feel better soon.)
Sprucelcaw beamed with a look of pride. "Thanks dapplecloud, her mentor is Hailspirit ,windswirl's former apprentice. Having known windswirl personally I'm sure hailspirit is a fine mentor. Not as good as you of course, but fine." he mewed with a smile. Although the statement had been made in humor he did in fact mean what he had said. "I hope you do receive an apprentice. they'd be lucky to have such a great mentor." he mewed

Dapplecloud (Starting to feel better now, though the school year is coming up, and we all know what that means. ) Nodding again, I said, "Yes, Windswirl is a fine friend and warrior: I've known her for a while now." Windswirl had been quite friendly: one of the cats I had been meeting recently in the growing Clan, alongside Whitekit and Clove. I purred at his next comment. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were trying to flatter me into doing something." I teased. "Though training apprentices is important if we want to get through the next leaf-bare with capable warriors."

(Yeah i must say I'm a bit excited, finally gonna be in highschool. I'm glad you're feeling better.)
"Yeah i met windswirl a few times." he mewed in agreement. Spruceclaw smiled to himself and shook his head. "Me? No." he mewed acting offended that she had implied such a thing but he made sure she knew that he was obviously joking. "No, I'm not flattering you into anything just puttings the simple facts out there." he mewed with a grin. "Yeah. the clan has seemed to be growing quite a bit recently. we seem to have quite a few kits running around camp." he mewed. there hadn't been so many kits when he was young he had been one of the few kits roaming around camp at that time.

Dapplecloud (Nice! I'm moving to a new school that centers around ecology, so I'm pretty excited, too. ^^) Chuckling at Spruceclaw's antics, I nodded. "Yes, it's a good thing RockClan is so large now: it'll make us strong." Of course, quantity of warriors didn't mean a whole lot, but my pride in our Clan helped with these thoughts.

(Sorry for my late post. Spent a long weekend working with some other YouTubers and stuff.)
spruceclaw nodded in agreement. then a thought crossed his mind. "Id actually rather have a few skilled warriors thatn many less than average warriors." He mewed "lets hope their mentors train them well." he mewed.

Dapplecloud (Derpy late post because I didn't see that you'd replied xD) "That's definitely true." I said. "Though I have great faith in our current warriors." Deciding to turn the topic to something else, I asked. "How's hunting at the moment? I've been mostly on patrols, though luckily the other Clans haven't wandered across the border recently." Though it was a rather weak conversation topic, there wasn't much else I could think of at the moment.

Sorry for my late post with youtube school and various gaming tournaments tthis weekend was my first chance to breathe.) "Well you should have faith in our current warriors. you know me specifically." he mewed with a smug grin eyebrows raised. "I wouldn't be the one to ask about that. to busy training flurry. from what I've seen its been fine." he mewed before looking at her curiously "I was gonna ask you about that. has the iceclan border seemed abit deserted lately?" he asked curiously.
