Flowerpaw giggled excitedly as he finally finished grooming his fluffy pelt. Grinning toothily, the tiny tom-cat began to skip around camp, green eyes scanning the camp for his father. He was getting bored sitting around in camp, waiting for his mentor to show up. And who better to travel the territory with than his father! His eyes lit up when he finally spotted Maggotscreech. "Daddy!" Flowerpaw mewed cheerily, trotting up to the older tom. "Do you wanna go for a walk around the territory? Maybe do some hunting?" he made his stubby bob-tail tremble and gave a small pout, "pleeease?" He inwardly grinned, doubting that anyone could resist his charm.

Maggotscreech was enjoying some time by himself when he heard someone speak to him. They sounded younger than he was and the voice sounded a little high pitched in his opinion. For Cloudclan's sake. He turned his head to face the other cat- it was his son, Flowerpaw. Well it seemed nobody was going to get hurt then, he wouldn't attack his own son unless he asked for it.
"I don't really want to but I will." Maggotscreech replied, flicking a spider out of his ear, turning his bright green eyes away from the apprentice. He had the sudden urge to start pulling his fur out again.

Flowerpaw pouted, his tufty ears flattening against his head when his father didn't match his cheerful mood. He huffed once, before shrugging it off and grinned once again. "Yay!" the small tom-cat turned quickly on his heels and faced the entrance of the camp, "come on, let's go now." His sentence ended somewhat sharply, almost like a command, and he trotted quickly towards the entrance of the FireClan camp, figuring Maggotscreech would follow right behind him.

Maggotscreech grunted when Flowerpaw spoke again. And looked towards the camp exit. He was beginning to get really annoyed as he was being told what to do by a weak apprentice.
Sighing, he flicked am ear and walked slowly behind Flowerpaw, hoping to just get this over with already.

Flowerpaw greedily drank in the scents of the territory, glad to be in it once more. He had only been out of camp once so far, and it was on his own seeing as his mentor, Moonfur, had yet to even bother greeting him. Her loss, he thought bitterly, she got the best apprentice in the clan--in all four clans! ...She's probably just to intimidated to try and train me, he ran his tongue over the back of his teeth in irritation. Shaking his head, the pale calico decided to turn his attention to his father.
"What's your favorite place in the territory?" he asked, trying his best to keep his fathers pace and resist the urge to run through the fields of grass and sink his thorn-sharp claws into the first moving creature that came into his line of sight.

Maggotscreech had been walking silently, watching Flowerpaw with a small scowl that he was being forced to go around the territory when he could be doing much better things like eating, sleeping or plotting. He probably would've been doing the last.
The tabby was brought out of his trance when he heard a voice ask him a question, however, this time he wasn't confused as to who it was. He felt like he could recognise the annoying-ish voice anywhere now. He was glad it was quite an easy question, the place had been his favourite for quite a while now.
"My favourite place in the territory is a stream near the Iceclan border," He spoke, beginning to explain, "It's where me and your mother became mates." He couldn't help but purr at the memory.

Ew. IceClan. Flowerpaw thought, remembering the gross fishy-smell of the IceClan cat that had once been in his camp. He hated fish. But, hearing his father purr, the calico decided not to comment on his hatred of putrid fish-odor and instead let a sheepish smile slip onto his face. "You looove her~! Don't you?" he meowed, his green eyes narrowed playfully before his head tipped questioningly to the side, "speaking of mother dearest... what's she like?" The apprentice avoided eye-contact, trying not to reveal how interested he was in knowing this information. He hadn't seen much of Ebonyblaze since he had stopped suckling, and he was too young to have many memories of her from before that.

Maggotscreech stopped walking for a while and growled at his son's teasing. "Yes. I do. Is that some sort of crime now?" He hissed in a stressed tone. He really wasn't enjoying himself. He began to walk again slowly.
His ears pricked a little at the question, "She's amazing," He continued, "She's way too loyal to her clan yet not afraid to break a rule or two. She's fun too." He smiled, laughing silently at the memory of when they first met.
"I remember our first meeting was more like a business arrangement than an actual conversation." He chuckled.

"Nope," Flowerpaw mewed happily, unfazed by his fathers growling, "it's just..." he tipped his head to side, trying to find the right word, "cute." He grinned to himself. Maggotscreech, at least in Flowerpaw's eyes, didn't really seem like the "cute" type, so the calico found it amusing when he did something as adorable as falling in love.
His ears perked up in interest as he listen to his father speak about Ebonyblaze. He could feel something tighten in his chest as he did so. He didn't like it and he wanted his father to stop talking about her and be mean and rude to him again. His stubby tail twitched, knowing that saying that aloud could put Maggotscreech in a mood again, which he also knew wasn't the smartest thing to do if he wanted to continue one with this "father-son bonding time". Instead, he forced one of his white ears to quirk curiously. "What do you guys do together?" he mewed, guessing it was probably something along the lines of complaining about other cats or something. He wasn't too sure what mates did together other than be all gushy and lovey, although he didn't read his father for being the type to act like that. Then again, he could be wrong. Not that he would admit it.

(I have no muse rn but if I don't reply I'll completely forget about this so sry)
Maggotscreech sighed with frustration and flicked his ear when Flowerpaw described the relationship between him and his mate 'cute'. The tabby wasn't going to tolerate that. He was not cute... He was a scary monster. "Say that again and I'll have your skin." He growled, lashing his tail.
He continued to walk slowly, not quite sure where they were actually going. To be honest, he didn't really care- he didn't want to go out in the territory in the first place. Actually doing stuff with other cats that didn't benefit him seemed completely pointless in his eyes. He stopped a little when asked the next question but then began to move again, his bright eyes slanted. "I've not seen her for a while.. She's disappeared like a lot of cats have been doing, but we just used to talk," He paused, "She was the only cat I felt like I could tell my secrets to."

Flowerpaw grinned at his fathers reaction, his bright green eyes narrowing mischievously as he looked at Maggotscreech through the corner of his eye. "Fiiine," he meowed, rolling his eyes and putting on a small pout, "you're not cute. You're replusive," his tone was faintly dramatic, "abhorrent," there was a glimmer of amusement in his gaze as he looked ahead at their path, "vile."
The pale calico stiffened when his father mentioned Ebonyblaze's absence. He had noticed a lot of cats disappearing too. His mother, his sisters, his mentor... The tom didn't like to think about it. It didn't make him feel happy, excited, or amused, which were the only emotions he really liked to feel. Instead, he focused his attention on his father's alleged secrets. "Secrets?" Flowerpaw mewed questioningly, quirking a fictional brow as he stared up at the tabby.

Maggotscreech gave Flowerpaw a small smirk as he looked at the patched cat out the corner of his eyes. "Why thank you," He hissed, slightly playful and sarcastic, "I've been told many of those things before," He said, flicking a spider away from his black ear.
The tabby couldn't help but sigh irritably at his own stupidity when Flowerpaw questioned what he had said. He probably shouldn't have brought up the fact that he had told Ebonyblaze one or two of his secrets. Granted, a lot of cats knew a lot of them now- well the ones who he knew well like Silverlight and other cats he grew up around. "Yes. Secrets." He replied just for the sake of speaking. He wasn't going to make thingss awkward by keeping quiet.

"Glad I could compliment," the pale calico mewed with a wink. His gaze traveled to the spider Maggotscreech flicked from his ear. Does he keep bugs in his pelt? he thought, continuing to look his patchy fur over, trying to spot another bug. He loved bugs, but he preferred to disguard them once he was done "playing" with them, and would never consider keeping them in his soft coat.
"Do I get to hear any of these secrets?" he quirked a brow and grinned in interest, "or is it a 'loved ones' only type of deal?" from the vibe he'd been getting from his father Flowerpaw had a gut feeling he didn't exactly fit into that category. Eh, it doesn't matter, he thought to himself, I'll always love myself.

"If that's what you wanna call it," Maggotscreech grumbled, bright green eyes scanning the plains, observing them in all their boring, empty glory before his gaze flickered back to Flowerpaw. "If you could stop staring at me, that'd be great," He said as he moved his thin, rat-like tail to cover one of the hairless patches on his flank, "It's rude to stare without asking," He didn't care if he was being hypocritical by calling other cats rude.
He let out a long sigh as he was asked more questions. Why did he agree to do this? "No it's not a 'loved ones' only type of deal," He answered, "Stormshine probably knows all of them and I hate everything about her," He stated, moving his tail so that it trailed behind him again. "And I don't know if I trust you not to tell any of your friends... Not that I care about the opinions of any of the fools in this clan, anyway."
