SpruceclawPaleheart didn't know if he was depressed or mad, he felt like he was being torn apart. The tom had left camp from a meeting with his former mate and kits, and lets all just say it wasn't perfect. Paleheart needed to talk to the source that supported him like last time, his father. It wasn't hard to find the huge warrior, and thankfully he was alone. "Spruceclaw, hey!" He shouted, forced excitement in his voice.

Spruceclaw had padded along the border earlier that morning. when the dew had still clung to the blades of green grass and a slight fog clouded under the trees. now that the heat of midday had awoken from its slumber he decided to rest in the cool shade that the trees between rock abd treeclan provided. the forest canopy was much thicker here providing long shadows that kept the earth below cool. it was at this time that he hears a familiar voice. he turned to see his son stalking through treeclan territory. Spruceclaw smiles as his son approached. "You're becoming more clumsy than i remember , paleheart. All the prey heard you coming from a mile away. wouldn't be suprised if rockclan has a food shortage after you showed up." Spruceclaw mewed with a broad smile to tell paleheart he was joking. "All joking aside, its good to see you again." he mewed happily.

Paleheart smiled at his father's joke, but he knew it was sort of true. He was an actually plump cat, even with his eating habits. "Good to see you too, haven't seen you since me and Dewmask got together." He immediately flinched at his reply and his bobbed tail twitched.

spruceclaw frowned realizing that his son may have taken his light attempt at humor more personally than spruceclaw had intended. he began to say something about it when paleheart apparently moved on with the conversation. spruceclaw was, to say the least, concerned at paleheart reaction to his own comment. Spruceclaw studied paleheart closely a look of concern evident on his face. "Paleheart, are you alright son?" he mewed true concern in his voice.

Paleheart sighed, staring at his paws. His tail twitched more. "Yeah... Just... I feel like I'm a terrible father, they probably think they were the product of a fling because me and Dew broke up and moms missing again... And life isn't too good for me since I appeared in Treeclan again..." He rambled, holding his brown paw to his head.

Spruceclaws face slowly became sadder and sadder and a look of pain filled his eyes. the last time paleheart had been this upset was the day he had told spruceclaw about asters disappearance. spruceclaw walked to his sons side and let paleheart rest his weight against him if needed. "Paleheart, son. I'm going to tell you something. your children...are your children. You will always be there father no matter what and they will always love you even if they can't see it themselves. most importantly is that you will always be there for them. Now whatever happened between you and dewmask is none of my concern but a long time ago i was forced to make a choice between the loves of my life. and everyday i wake up to the possibilities of that choice but i didn't choose that day. that day i was ripped in half and although my body went with sandy i still shared equal love for your mother. Sandstone needed me more than your mother did and that's the truth. even with asters memories she was strong enough to be by herself and she knew that i love her as much as i did sandy. now you kids you grew up without a father and a mother who disappeared but from the moment i knew that you all had come into existence i have loved you all. I can't speak for you but I'm pretty sure you and your siblings knew that. I have never loved sandy more than aster or you more than silentpaw you all are my family and i love you all the same." Spruceclaw mewed as a tear roled down his face. he took a deep and shaky breath before continuing. " now your kids will always know that you love them and you know that yoy will always love them. so don't beat yourself up for something you and dewmask stirred up." he mewed his voice suddenly turning harsh and demanding. "Just know that if you so chose, you will always have a home in rockclan." He mewed taking a shaky breath.

Paleheart couldn't help but tear up at his fathers words. He smiled and nodded, "My kits are my kits. I do love them... But I don't know if they believe that after today..." He sighed, "I'm glad for you and Sandstone, you too are nice together. And Asterheart would be pleased about what you said." He smiled faintly. His bobbed tail flicked and he lowered his ears, considering what Spruceclaw had said.
"I'll think about going to Rockclan... But that would be a while. Thanks, though. For everything."
