Flintpaw's eat flicked when he heard the rush of water. "It must be over there!" He followed the sound and a few cat lengths away was the river. The apprenticed grinned and had to resist just leaping in. "I heard the Iceclan cats actually have to use the river to hunt! Those slimy fish looks gross!" He stuck his tongue out.

give me time and give me space Whitepaw's ears pricked upwards when Flintpaw said that he knew where the river was. He could hear rushing water from another area. Wait, he knew that area... It was the Iceclan border! Ew! Smelly fish cats! The black cat was slightly disgusted that he would have to go near that border again, but he guessed it would be fun so went along with it.
"Yeah the fish look gross! They smell gross too!"

(Should I ask someone to bust them and get them in trouble?)
Flintpaw dipped his paw in the water and shivered when he felt that it was cold. "It's freezing!" He shrieked, but kept his paws in anyway. "You just have to get used to it." The apprentice slowly immersed himself and sighed in happiness. "C'mon Whitepaw!"

give me time and give me space -Sure, go ahead - Whitepaw was hesitating a little as he looked at the cold water. Was now a good time to say about his inability to swim? He decided not to and just put his black paws into a shallower part still near the rocky edge. He shivered as his pelt was immersed in cold water, but he eventually managed to get used to it, moving forwards so that he was about shoulder deep in the water. "It's cold," He stated, smiling widely.

(Okay I'll ask around)
Flintpaw waded over to the other apprentice. "Yeah, but it feels good. My fur soaks up a lot of sun." He was sure Whitepaw would understand. "So a cool down is welcome." He got an idea and smirked mischievously. Flintpaw slapped the water and tried to splash Whitepaw.

give me time and give me space Whitepaw nodded in understanding, "Yeah, I get what you mean," He laughed a little, looking at his black pelt. He turned his head to look at Flintpaw again, but as he was doing so, water was splashed all over him. He squealed and almost fell back, looking at the other apprentice with a playfully irritated face before he splashed him back.

(That moment when you've typed out a long reply and then your phones browser shuts down and you lose it all :.( ] Spruceclaw was patrolling the iceclan border. he weaved through the boulder that dominated the rocky terrain. as he cut through the territory he heard a squell from the river. Spruceclaw peered through the shrubbery over towards the iceclan border curiously. he sniffed the air, no iceclan scent. Spruceclaw dropped to a crouch and stalked silently through the bracken. using those skills he had honed as an apprentice to easily glide through the underbrush making almost no noise. when he was in sight of the river bank the sight suprised him. two apprentices were messing about along the bank. "What do you two think youre doin?" He called as he emerged from the bracken and stalked down the bank. he looked between the two waiting for an explanation. "Well?" he mewed.

(oh no ) Flintpaw laughed as he was splashed back. He flinched when he heard the bracken rustling and shrunk into the water when Spruceclaw emerged. "We uh.." He had no explanation. No excuses. Flintpaw turned to Whitepaw and frowned. "I was stuck in the camp all day and I decided to sneak out. Whitepaw saw me trying to leave and followed me to keep me safe." A perfect lie. An older, more experienced apprentice set out to protect the younger, more foolish one.

give me time and give me space Whitepaw's ears pricked and his eyes widened at the sound of a warriors voice. They had been caught. 'Crap...' He thought, looking over his shoulder at the large tabby. He recognised the cat as he had seen him around camp, although he didn't know his name or anything about him.
He turned around and blinked his piercing blue eyes, looking at the warrior before looking back towards Flintpaw. He wasn't shocked when the other cat began to bend the truth a little, so he carried it on to try make it more believable than it already was. "Yeah," He continued, "I wanted to make sure he didn't get lost so we came out together to go look around"

Spruceclaw frowned as the two cats made their explanations. he shook his head. "So you snuck out, you followed him to protect. and then what, you decided to go swimming?" He mewed as he frowned at the two giving them a glare. "Whitepaw." He mewed turning his attention to the older apprentice. "You just went along with him. i though the older apprentice would be responsible enough to know not to just go wondering off through the forest without informing, at least your mentor before you left. If not that then at least be smart enough to not go playing on the border." He mewed as he gave a dissapointed glare towards the older of the two apprentices. "I understand the urge to explore, i did quite a bit of it myself as an apprentice, just let someone know that you even left." he mewed with a somewhat sympathetic look. he took a deep breath of the scent around them, again looking for any signs of iceclan. who would not be happy to know two apprentices were chasing off the fish with their splashings. he then looked at the two apprentices expectantly "anything to say?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

Flintpaw panicked when the warrior started to blame everything on Whitepaw. No! That was the opposite of his plan! He wanted to get in trouble, not get his new friend in trouble. The apprentice hung his head in shame. "I'm sorry, Spruceclaw. I'll go back the camp." Camp. His prison. He looked back to Whitepaw and mouthed him a much more sincere sorry and then padded off back to camp.

give me time and give me space Whitepaw frowned as he looked up at Spruceclaw. He really wanted to argue against him. He was old enough to go out without supervision- he knew the way around and everything. However, when he was about to speak, he heard Flintpaw apologise to the warrior and looked at the other dark coloured cat, flattening his black ears a little. He nodded at the apology and began to follow him when he made his way back to camp. The apprentice looked back at the brown tabby behind him when he walked away before focusing his piercing blue eyes back in the direction he was walking.

spruclaw frowned as the two started to walk away. He hadn't instructed them to head home . "Now just a minute you two. where are you goin?" he mewed calling to the two as he started to walk towards them. "Why are you heading back?done exploring so soon?" he mewed with a smile. then his expression turned more serious. "I don't see any reason to inform your mentors. of where you've been. I also dont wanna see you stop exploring. you're both apprentices and i trust that you've had your territory tours?" He asked looking between the two. "I just don't want to see you so close to another's. territory. especially not in the river that splits our clans. they'd have reasonable cause to attack you." he mewed as he looked between the two. "Understood?" He asked.

Flintpaw stopped dead in his tracks. They weren't...in trouble? He wasn't scared of Spruceclaw telling his mentor. He had been scared that the warrior would have told Cloverstar. He had just became friends with the leader. Flintpaw didn't want to be scolded by her. "We're...free to go?" He blinked in disbelief but then turned to Whitepaw with a smile.

give me time and give me space Whitepaw stopped walking when Spruceclaw said that they weren't in trouble. So... He'd just told them off for leaving without telling anyone and now he was letting them go like nothing had happened. The apprentice really couldn't see the logic in that, but didn't say anything as it could risk the two of them actually getting into trouble- and although that wouldn't bother him, he didn't want to break a possible friendship between him and Flintpaw.
He turned his head so that his blue eyes could look into Flintpaw's yellow-y(I think) ones. He smiled widely at him, white teeth showing.
