Some more training (P/Whitepaw)

(Sorry for late post, my computer doesn't like this thread apparently. xD)

"Okay." I said. "Probably more realistic in the midst of battle: your enemy will usually find you." I backed up a few paces, ready to charge in. "Remember: think fast and use simple tactics to get out of the way." Then I raced at him, not unlike the bird he had caught earlier. Though I was a fully-grown warrior, not a bird. Slewing to a halt in front of him, I reared up and repeated the move that had gotten him last time, hoping he would be able to react enough to be able to avoid it.

Whitepaw nodded as he got listened to what Dapplecloud was saying. So, all he had to do was fight back as if he was against another clan. He presumed that the claws sheathed rule still applied. He couldn't help but still be a little scared when Dapplecloud began to run towards him, it reminded him of hunting the bird, however, she was a lot larger and stronger than a bird. Obviously. He tried to move out of the way when she used the same move as before, succeeding as he went to swipe forwards at her.

Seeing Whitepaw come to himself and run around, I felt a gleam of triumph at his quick reaction. However, when I felt blows along my side, I was slightly caught off guard, stumbling and landing heavily on the ground, though recovering myself within a few seconds and turning to face him again in a defensive position, ready to react if he made a move.

Whitepaw couldn't help but grin with pride when he felt like he was succeeding in the practice fight. He swished his long tail as he ran forwards again and aimed to lung himself at Dapplecloud. He was attempting to knock her over again, although wasn't quite sure how it'd go.

I turned to block the lunge with my shoulder as he ran at me. Despite my large, heavy stature, I had underestimated Whitepaw's strength and was caught off guard as he slammed into my shoulder. Really stumbling now, I shook my head, though I was now vulnerable to any more blows at the moment.

Whitepaw purred quietly with pride when he maaged to somehow make the older and more experienced cat vulnerable, although he was sure that if this was an actual battle between two clans he probably would have been shredded by now. He grinned as he began to swipe his paws forwards, the black fur along his spine spiked up.

Feeling a number of blows on my exposed shoulder and side, I shook my head. "Okay, that's enough, you can stop now." I said, stepping back. Looking up at him, I felt a sense of pride in his accomplishment despite his failure at first. "That was good! You caught me off guard with the amount of force you used: something that enemy warriors will sometimes do as well." Any seasoned warrior would see an older apprentice or young warrior as an easy target. "There are a lot of moves that you can perfect on your own, though sparring with other apprentices will give you more simulation of a real battle." I added.

Whitepaw nodded with a small yawn as he backed up a little and sat down, "Thank you," He said in response to the feedback that he was given on his training. He swished his black tail gently. "Alright, I'll try and do some independant training with other apprentices. I'm sure they'll want to as well," He smiled.

"Can we go back to camp? I'm tired," He said with a small laugh.

"Good." I said, nodding my approval at his statement. I purred at his question, however. "Judging how you were so full of energy this morning, I'm surprised to hear you say that. But yes, let's go back to camp. You've earned some prey and rest after today's training session." I teased. Turning, I walked in the direction of the camp. He was much better now since his first days of apprenticeship, though solitary practice would be needed before his assessment. Still though, he was well-trained, and the assessment was planned out, so he would be a warrior soon.
