Silentkit's observant blue eyes widened when he spotted a small, pastel-yellow butterfly flutter into the nursery. Excited, the mute tom-cat leaped onto his paws and crawled silently towards the butterfly, his white tail-tip twitching as he got closer and closer. The butterfly took off and flew deeper into the den once Silentkit was about a tail-length away. Pouting, the ginger tabby bounced over to the nearest kitten and pointed excitedly at the butterfly.

Flutterkit shivered as another kitten neared her. She backed up her spiking up with fear. 'Is he going to hurt me' Flutterkit thought before looking at the thing he was pointing to. It was a butterfly fluttering around the nursery. 'Oh' Flutterkit stared at the butterfly and than looked at the ginger-furred kitten. "You won't hurt me, won't you?"

Silentkit's eyes widened when he realized that he had scared the other kitten. The tabby lowered his head apologetically, his white-tipped ears fluttering, sorry that he had startled her. The tom-cat shook his head "no" vigorously to her question, since he was able to verbally give her an answer.

Flutterkit looked at the other kitten with light blue eyes. 'Good he said no but why didn't he talk' The cream and white she-cat curled her fluffy tail around her paws. Flutterkit's fur was still spiking up in fear. 'I don't know this kitten. Maybe he's pretending to act like this. Who knows' She thought. "What's your name." Flutterkit murmured softly her voice barely more than a whisper.
