The sun was just coming up over the tops of the mountains and the light rays were just touching the morning dew that had settled the night before. A chill breeze blew through the middle of the camp, creating a low whistling noise that was indistinct to her own hearing. The sky was painted with the most beautiful reds, oranges, and even tinges of pinks. It was going to be a bright and nice morning.
Rousing from her deep sleep, the white speckled she-cat wandered out from her ever warm nest in the nursery. It'd been some time since she'd kitted and it was about time for her to move out of the nursery. She knew that the time was soon but she'd do it tomorrow if not sooner. There were plenty of other she-cats who would love to be in her nest for their own kittings. It was time to be selfless and give someone else her position.
Doestrike sat down in the brisk wind current coming in through camp and took a deep breath to take in the wonderful scents around her. The crisp scent of the dew, the mountain wind and its sweet scent, and the milk scent coming off her own fur. It was easy to tell that she had kitted as she still had her baby weight, she didn't mind it though. Her kits didn't seem to care and that's what mattered.
The she-cat looked up at the sky and shook her head at her own thoughts. Perhaps today would still turn out to be something eventful.
