For some reason, on this cold winters eve, young Hairera found herself crying. Or, not so much as crying, for Wolves can not cry in truth, more so whimpering. So broken and young, the action probably makes her look innocent. She's far from that. Yet as it is, the memories of everything that's happened to her, everything that happened on that fateful day, have taken their toll. That false bravado the young wolf clung to like a lifeline finally slipped. So to speak. And so she lay upon the snow, the cold seeping into her fur in an attempt to ground her. To tug her tears back into their little alcove to seal away forever. Apparently it works, though not as one may hope.
The young wolf snapped, eyes blazing as her head whipped up in absolute fury. So much so that it caused a growl to reverberate throughout her entire body. Fury at them. At herself. At this world of folly and lies. Pinning her ears, she tugged herself to her paws. It was difficult, the cold, much like her memories, had seeped into her body like a poison. Numbing her to the world. She forced strength into her young legs and shook off the cold before letting out a howl that almost echoed like a scream. It was the closest she was going to get to one. Yet those tears still wanted to flow, those non existent tears that she could only shed on the inside from her small and pulsing heart. She snarled at the impulse, and latched her jaws around her foreleg. Not hard enough to break anything, nor pierce anything important. Just enough for blood to seep into her maw, tainting her taste buds as searing pain shoots up her leg. She releases the limb and laughs. A strange and broken laugh with no humour behind it. Devoid of life completely. It ricochets back to her and echoes her enough for her to stop and let it die away.
Then she turns her head to snarl again because this time another wolf has approached. With blood stained fangs and a wound that does all the crying for her, she sneers at the other. "What do you want of me?" Heck. She's not even sure if she's asking herself or the other wolf. Maybe she's just asking this whole darn world why they won't just kill her off.
