(sorry this thread's a little bit late ~)
As was his wont, Redfang woke up before the sun had crested the horizon and ate a quiet breakfast, joined only by the peaceful sound of birdsong and a quiet breeze that carried with it the hint of a leaf-fall chill. It was only after the sun had peaked above the treetops that the red-furred warrior stood up, stretched, and made his way for the apprentices' den. This'll be the fourth, he thought to himself as he neared the entrance. Hope this one sticks around long enough to become a warrior. "@silvertaco, rise and shine," he called softly into the still-dark interior of the den. He turned and made his way for the entrance, where he sat and waited for the she-cat.

(All good) Silverpaw slept soundly, as she hadn't managed to catch much sleep during the night with all the excitement. She rolled over as her name was called, opening her eyes groggily. She muttered a few unintelligible sentences to herself, standing up with squinted eyes. Her jade orbs widened as she took in her surroundings, remembering that she wasn't in the nursery anymore. She scrambled out of the den, not bothering to groom her fur as she allowed her eyes to adjust to the new light. Silverpaw pricked her ears up, scanning the newly awoken clan, spotting her new mentor near the entrance. She trotted over slowly, lifting her head slightly to appear confident and mature. " Hello." She greeted coolly, though her eyes were alight with excitement.

Redfang grinned down at his new apprentice, due to her carefully composed calm mask as well as the bright excitement that shone so brightly within her gaze. He considered telling her to grab something to eat, but decided against it; she hadn't gone to the fresh-kill pile on her own, and so he doubted she was truly hungry. Besides, time willing, he hoped to give her a quick hunting lesson after they'd toured the territory. "Hello to you, too," he replied with a purr, then stood and began to walk briskly for the camp's exit; the exercise would wake the both of them up. "So, first thing's first; we'll tour the territory, and if you're up for it, I'll teach you a bit about hunting afterwards. For now, though, just try and keep up," he called over his shoulder. He knew that the words may have sounded a bit harsh, but this would be Silverpaw's first period of extended activity, and he hoped to begin building the muscle and endurance she'd need as a warrior early.

Silverpaw dipped her head at the returned greeting, struggling to keep her paws in place. " I'll definitely be up for that." She grinned, her ears pricking at the thought of it. She hoped she would be able to impress her mentor, pushing away any doubt from her mind as she bounced slightly at the promise of hunting. Though she wasn't too thrilled to tour the territory, it would still prove to be a challenge. She was just excited for the physical aspects of training, though she didn't voice her distaste. Silverpaw briskly followed him, trying to widen her steps to move faster. Though, with short legs, this proved to be extremely difficult. " So, where are we going first?" She questioned, barely fazed by the tiredness in her limbs as she trotted next to him, her tail lashing.

(sorry the reply's late, classes are taking a lot of my attention at the moment)
Redfang grinned at Silverpaw's enthusiasm for learning such an important skill. "Good question; unfortunately, it's one I'm not going to answer." Though originally he hadn't bothered with this process, he'd discovered that testing the observational skills of his apprentices early on would help to hone their instincts and quicken their minds. "Take a look around; I know you won't be able to tell one rival clan's scent from another's just yet, but I'm sure you know a good deal about where they live." Already they'd covered a considerable distance thanks to their brisk pace, and the prairie around them was becoming less uniform, prone to unevenness and increasingly hilly terrain; the mountains of IceClan were also visible, soaring into the sky and scraping at the bellies of passing clouds, which were themselves a dead giveaway.

Silverpaw frowned at his reply, confused. She assumed he would tell her so she could memorize the territory; Though she supposed he wanted her to figure it out. Silverpaw slowed, focusing her senses on her surroundings. Though the scents were all a jumbled mesh of nothing to her, and her hearing didn't seem to give away anything, seeing on the other paw proved to help. She forced her claws into the rough terrain, trying her best not to be distracted by any other sounds. She tilted her head at the tall, daunting mountains ahead of them, clicing her tongue lightly as she tried to remember its hosts. She perked her ears up excitedly, lashing her tail. " That's Iceclan's territory!" She smiled confidently.

Redfang nodded at the reply, unable to suppress a purr at Silverpaw's confident smile. "Right you are," he said, moving his gaze from the apprentice up to the towering monoliths of stone. No matter how many times he saw them, he couldn't help but feel a certain sense of awe, serving as a reminder that the world was a bigger place than he could even guess at. Before long, they were right along the border, the winds coming off the mountains carrying with them the scent of IceClan. "Make sure you remember this scent," he said, though he knew the comment was likely unnecessary; something so strange was hard to forget. He waited a moment, then turned and led the she-cat away from the border, towards TreeClan. Though he'd rather get the tour over with quickly so they could move on to the hunting lesson, he slowed their pace a bit; it'd give Silverpaw a bit of a rest, and allow her to acquaint herself with their own territory a bit more. Again, he said nothing about where they were going, but the TreeClan border was not far from the IceClan border, and already Redfang could hear the rustling of leaves and see the great wall that was the forest.

Silverpaw puffed out her chest discreetly, feeling a rush of pride that she had managed to get it right. Silverpaw didn't bother taking a second glance at the mountains, unfazed by the greatness of there size. She was to excited about the aspect that she was an apprentice now to even bother caring. Silverpaw wrinkled her nose in shock at the strange scent filling her nose, realizing they must be extremely close. She stopped next to him, trying to block out the scent from her mind. At his words, she sighed, knowing this would be necessary in the future. Silverpaw was about to sit when he started moving again, lashing her tail in slight annoyance. She forced herself to stand again, scrunching her muzzle up at the burning in her legs. She pushed on, glad when he eased up slightly. Silverpaw hesitated, her eyes widening at the wide expanse of forest trees. She wasn't sure why this all seemed much more exciting then the mountains, though it gave her a strange sense of confusion. She felt as though if she stepped into the woods she would never find her way home again. Silverpaw the four clans through her head, trying to match them up with the obvious border line coming to a close. The only possible outcomes were Treeclan and Rockclan, so it was easy to piece together. " So that's Treeclan, huh?" She murmered, almost in awe at the seemingy never ending growth of trees.

Redfang nodded at Silverpaw's answer, grinning bemusedly at the she-cat's expression of awe. The sight of the TreeClan border was impressive, he would admit, but he found it odd that she wouldn't feel the same about IceClan's mountains. He shrugged it off; to each their own, he supposed. "TreeClan indeed," he said aloud, surveying the deep shadows of the woods, letting himself wonder for a moment what might lurk within those spots of darkness. He waited a heartbeat before standing again, turning toward the only remaining border. "I suppose its obvious where we're going now," he said with a purr, glancing back towards his apprentice. "Ready?"

" Yeah, I'm ready." Silverpaw hesitantly turned from the wall of trees, flicking her tail tip lightly. She wanted to wrap up the tour so she could learn some hunting, though she felt her fur prickle with fear at keeping her back to the trees. She felt as though with all the shadows and places to hide that something must be lurking, waiting to pounce. She shook her head roughly, as if to rid of the thoughts of certain doom before proceeding to trot after her mentor, barely noticing the burning in her legs through all the excitement.

(sorry this is late. again.)
Redfang set a more sedate pace, as he'd done before; he was as anxious to be done with the tour as he assumed Silverpaw was, but pushing the she-cat too much now might make it more difficult for her to focus on hunting later. Even with the slower pace, it wasn't long before he caught RockClan's scent. The ground had shifted once again from flat prairie to uneven terrain; this time, though, the soft earth was replaced in some places by dirt that seemed to be half composed of tiny, sharp rocks. Then they were at the border; the ground was more uneven than it had ever been before, and beyond the borderline it changed further, becoming jagged stone cliffs and rough, barren looking soil. "And here, last but not least, is RockClan," Redfang announced, shifting uncomfortably as he thought about what it must feel like to hunt and patrol in such a place.

(Its totally fine)
Silverpaw stayed a fox tail away from him, her nose twitching consistently. Despite the fact that she knew she wouldn't remember most of the scents she caught, it was more interesting to her then her surroundings. She lagged slightly behind Redfang, her breathing going heavy. She wasn't used to walking for so long and it had started to take a toll on her. Though, managing to keep her spirits up, Silverpaw batted at a few stray rocks. Silverpaw stopped beside him, the new scent hitting her nose. They must be at the border. She looked out at the landscape, her muzzle wrinkling in distaste. " What do they eat?" She tilted her head, though she supposed they might find lizards in such a place.
