((This is a WIP at all times for me to work on in my spare time. Even once I have finished her past, I will add past threads as well to the story. CRITICS REQUESTED.))
Serenity grinned up at her older sister. She had 2, along with 2 younger sisters. She also had one younger and elder brother, but she was by far closest to her older sister, Lily. "Are you ready to play? You said we could once you got back from hunting, and your back from hunting. I lost are last fight and demand a rematch." she yipped in the high pitched voice that was hers back then. "I promise it will be worth your time." she added, practically jumping up and down. That was when Blade, her older brother, approached.
"Now Serenity, your sister said she would play after hunting, but when you challenge her, don't you want her to be at her best?" he asked, causing Serenity to stick out her tounge.
"And who do you suggest I fight? She promised me a rematch and I will get it." she said, stomping her foot.
"Fight me." he responded, the laughter in his eyes causing her to glare at him. "What, think I'll beat you?" he challenged. He knew that type of thing got under her skin, and she was fully aware of what he was doing, so she turned to Lily.
"I would fight you, Blade, but I have Lily depending on me for a fight." she responded, her eyes begging her sister to go along with it. Unfortunatly, Serenity never seemed to get what she wanted.
"No, go ahead and fight him, I'd like to watch." she said, stepping back and sitting down. Serenity glared at her but turned to her brother, who probably was the better opponent. She sighed and got ready to dodge the first attack that came at her.
"Fine, show me what you got, but we both know who will win." she rolled her eyes, knowing if she got under his skin he would come quickly and recklessly, so she could dodge his attacks easily. "I've beat you before." she taunted, sidestepping his first attack easily and striking out as he passed, dancing back. He turned and faced her and she frowned at the calculating look in his eyes. He never thought in a fight. It might yet be worth her time. The scarlet blood on his flank from where he had been hit by her first attack gleamed, but she had scarcely hit him. The skin had been cut, but not enough for it to hurt him.
"Let me tell you, in this battle, you will not get under my skin like you usually do." her brother said and she smiled. This would be fun. A fair fight. He wouldn't actually hurt her though. It was never really a fair fight with her against him, that's why she prefered Lily in a fight. She could actually get hurt then. She was caught off guard though when her brother pounced, pinning her down. "Give up?" he asked. He was a much bigger cat, and she couldn't push herself up, but she still shook her head. She lifted it sharply, headbutting her brother's chest. When it caught him off guard, she managed to wiggle out, pouncing quickly before he became unstunned. Her mouth went to his throat and she smiled, not biting, but instead speaking when she opened it.
"I win. Again. Lily, will you fight me now?" she asked, a pleading tone in her voice as she jumped off her brother and turned to her sister.
"Aren't you tired Serenity?" she asked, shaking her head. "Tomorrow. Let's be honest, I would beat you if you challenged me now. Your brother just goes easy on you." she said laughing at Serenity's reaction. Serenity looked at their other siblings and smiled as her only litter mate approached her.
"Serenity, you can beat me in a fight, and that's saying something. You already had your fight for today. I'd ask to go play, but I'm sent on a task. Mom wants to see you. She went out hunting, probably in her regular spot." he said to which Serenity nodded with a frown, wondering what her mother wanted to talk about. She walked over in a slight daze, not noticing when she got there, but knowing some time past. She wasn't sure what she was doing, but there was a noise ringing through her ears, and she snapped out of it when it came to an end. Her hearing was back to normal first, then she saw her mom's limp body, felt the warmth under her claws, tasted the salty tang in her mouth. She didn't need to look at her claws to know what was there. Her mother's blood. She had just killed her mother. She wasn't sure how she didn't remember, but some how, something her mom had said must have triggered something, though she wasn't sure what when she hadn't heard a thing had gotten through to her, but she knew it had been her. She knew she had ended her first life that day. She walked back to their den and entered with a frown on her face for the first time in her life.
Rosa, Serenity's other older sister, was all over her as she walked back into the den. Serenity ussually didn't frown when coming in from the territory, and she had just gone to talk to their mom, so she was rather curious. "Why do you look so sad? Was it something mom said?" the older cat asked worriedly, and Serenity simply shook her head, giving her sister a tight smile.
"Rosa, I really need to get some sleep right now. Can we talk in the morning?" she asked, glad when her sister stepped aside rather than arguing.
"Angel, as soon as you get up, we will be talking." I heard her voice call behind me. I always hated her nickname for me, and luckly it hadn't been passed on through the family. It was only a Rosa thing, and no other cat could keep a scarless face if they did. When Serenity climbed into her nest, she was surprised when sleep came easy. Not that that was a good thing. Sleep would bring nightmares.
Serenity awoke in the morning with a yelp. She was breathing in and out in gasps as her brother approached. Serenity, are you ok?" he asked, regarding me curiously, and I couldn't seem to remember that in order to talk I had to breath in and out rather than just in.
"Yeah... I'm... fine." she said, inhaling breaths between each word. She forced herself to exhale deeply and felt the pressure in her chest leave her. She was still breathing in quickly, but atleast she was breathing out now too.
"Yeah right, you were screaming in your sleep. You faced a pack of dogs head on without thinking twice about it. Now tell me for real, are you ok?" he asked again and I nodded.
"Just a nightmare." she responded with a flick of her tail. Surely that was what the last day had been, a nightmare, right. "I just need some freash air." she decided as she walked out into the inky midnight, her brother following close behind. Unfortunatly, the sick feeling in her stomach was not gone, but the cool air did cool her down quiet a bit, keeping her from overheating. It had all been real. She had killed her mother. And now she was going to have to talk to her sister. "Death, could you leave me for a minute, I need to think." she said, starting walking before her brother could respond. She had to come up with something to tell her sister and fast... or, maybe not... She glanced back at her den one last time before disappearing into the forest. She knew she couldn't face them after what she had done, so she left instead. And though she knew it would crush them, she also knew the truth could, would, hurt them even more. She stumbled along, eventually collapsing by a great big tree covered in moss. She was far enough away, she could just close her eyes for a minute...
Serenity managed on her own for a whole moon before her other siblings found her. Her dad had gone crazy long ago from some spirit possession split personality things, and he had been killed by Rosa. Her mom had also had the same case, but on a lesser scale, and, well, she was dead now.
"Serenity?" she heard a gasp behind her and turned to see Death. "Y-your dead." he said, his voice shaky and I tilted my head.
"Dead? No. I left." she said, them relised how odd it was that her brother was theere and suddenly tensed. "You can't be here. I left for a reason." she glared.
"And a very good reason it must have been. You still owe me a rematch." she heard and turned to see her sister had snuck up behind her. Serenity shook her head, eyes wide and ran, as far away from there as she could, but it wasn't enough. She recognised the daze she was in and shreiked, but no sound came out. When she finally came too she had killed them, all of them. She whimpered, but kept herself from crying. What was happening to her? She looked around, noticing that Death and Blade weren't in the pile of bodies. She looked around once again before she had started digging, buring her siblings. What had she done? No. She knew what she had done. She had killed them.
She let out a shaky breath when she was done, barely hearing the small voice behind her. "S-s-serinty?" Death spoke and Serenity turned, her face a mixture of emotions.
"What have I done?" she asked falling to the ground. Her brother ssighed, Blade approaching on her other side. They lifted her up, not mad at her in any way. How could they not be mad at her though? She hated herself and all they could do was be nice. She hated them ffor that. She lifted herself away from their grasps and walked away, not going far before she cried herself to sleep, even while she was walking.
She awoke in her old home, with her brothers beside her. They were asleep, so she snuck out, climbing up in a tree, letting the wind blow through her fur. She closed her eyes and tried to pretend none of this had happened. No matter what, she couldn't tell anyone this had happened.
Her life went on normally, and she had gotten closer than ever to her two brothers. She also had made her first friend outside of her family, Opal, and the two were also very close. She trusted all three with her life, so of coarse, the scene she walked in on was rather a surprise. "What are you doing?!" she yelled as she ran to Death's side. The breath had stopped. "Opal, what have you done? You killed my brother. You two even liked eachother. How could you?" she yelled, running out off thw clearing and strait into Blade as she was about to leave. "Blade, we have to get back at her." she said, surprised when he shook his head.
"No. You are staying right there and letting her leave." he growled and she stared at his determined face. He was in on it too. How could he? She shook her head and ran past them, not even bothering to hear the call that Opal and Blade made. One of them even offeed to explain, but she shook her head and kept running. She ran right into another clan, Deathclan she would learn it was called. She also knew one thing. She would never truly trust another cat again.
"What are you doing here loner" she heard another cat saw and saw them look up, seeing the brown cat that loomed above here.
"Am I welcome to stay?" she asked in response. "If it's a clan or whatever, I don't care, I'm gonnna stay, sign me up." she said, listening to the other cat's response and responding, knowing what the cat said at the time, but not able to remember later. She ended up joining somehow, but didn't really remember, finding a cosy cave quickly after she was released, finding sleep easily on the hard floor under her.
