Rainkit woke up in the nursery one morning to a gigantic rainstorm. None of the other cats were awake yet, but she was a very fitful sleeper and wasn't able to fall asleep. Not bothering to smooth down the clumps of pale fur, she quietly climbed out of the nest, trying her best to avoid waking up her litermates and mother. Even though she wasn't exactly supposed to leave the nest, she would much rather listen to the gentle sound of rain pouring down the rock walls outside the nursery than attempt to sleep. So she watched the rain fall on the rocky cliff that was her home for a while, but being an adventurous kit, she got the great idea to venture out.

Ashkit was curled into a warm ball beside his mother. He was faintly aware of the heavy storm brewing outside the cosy Nursery, but he burrowed himself deeper into the soft moss of his nest and purred.
He was awoken by the cold water slowly soaking through the walls and seeping into his tail. Letting out a squeak of protest, the dark tom opened his pale blue eyes to look around, catching a glimpse of Rainkit.
At the prospect of any sort of adventure, he hopped to his paws and padded after her.
"Hey," he meowed. "I'm Ashkit."

Startled, Rainkit whipped her head around and faced Ashkit with wide green eyes. "Oh, hi!" she said, relaxing once she realized he was just another kit. "I'm going on an adventure, want to join?"

Ashkit's ears flicked. Why not?
"Okay."
He padded over the pale ginger she-kit, his tail flicking.
"What's your name?" he asked as he ducked his head out the safety of the Nursery, looking up at the shower of rain.

"I'm Rainkit!" she replied. "Come on, let's go explore a bit of the camp!" She looked at Ashkit with shining eyes and bravely padded out of the nursery, getting drenched almost immediately. Rainkit loved the rain, but she was somewhat afraid of getting in trouble, something she managed to forget in the face of adventure.

"Okay!"
Instantly interested, the dark tom leapt after the rightly named Rainkit, watching as she got drenched. His fur instantly hung with rainwater yet he didn't even bother to try and shake off the moisture, knowing that it would just get drenched again. Cold worked its way to his skin, but he tried to ignore it, looking over at Rainkit.
"What should we do first?"

"Hmm..." meowed Rainkit, looking around. She spotted a couple puddles nearby, and pointed there with her tail. "Ashkit, look! Those puddles look like a lot of fun!" She dashed forwards and landed with a big splash in the closest one.

The outgoing kit bounded after Rainkit, excitedly leaping straight into another puddle, creating a large splash. He wriggled deep into the muddy puddle, laughing as it washed over his body. He then emerged, a muddy, wet fluff of a thing, his fur plastered to his frame.
He laughed.
"Watch out!" he leapt for Rainkit, trying to push her down into the mud.

With an excited squeal, she rolled out of the way just in time, her pale ginger fur all wet and a bit muddy. "Haha, too late!" she taunted playfully, quickly jumping over towards Ashkit to get him back.
