Freezefeather, let's see what muse I can dig up for this.....
It was cloudy.
Cold.
Rainy.
Awful.
And just plain boring.
The ground was soggy with mud that Azaleapetal had not the slightest intention of touching. The air was muggy and damp. There was actually a fog everywhere, making the distance only a white haze to be seen. She could see a good six feet away without trouble. But farther, and the haze was clouding.
She huddled up in a tree, comfortably laying with one front paw and hind leg dangling off the side. The branch was sturdy and wide, and though the bark pricked her fur and the thought of ants made her twitch with the urge to leave, Azaleapetal stayed where she was. Relaxed. Regal. And alone.
'IceClan is quiet.' Aza hummed to herself, piercing ice blue eyes opening to stare out into the fog. 'Wonder where Freezefeather is... and Lionstrike... and Robinstar... I should really make an effort to talk with them. Freeze is the only one I care about... but I really need to clear things up with my family... see if they hate me or something....'
She let out a deep sigh, closing her eyes now. 'What a bland mess. Maybe the move to IceClan was a bad idea. I did it to get away from TreeClan memories-- to start a new life from the lonely one I was leading. IceClan felt home to me. But now... does it still feel like home? TreeClan doesn't, but one of the reasons I moved was because of the lack of connections... and here I am. In IceClan. Lacking connections.'
'Nice.'

((I'm probably going to end up half-assing this.
The weather was nineteen different kinds of unpleasant in Freezefeather's opinion. It was just plain uncomfortable to lay down anywhere, wet ground clinging to his fur and staining it a strange brown color. Ugh. He wasn't a neat freak, but he couldn't keep up his facade of laziness properly in this state.
Freezefeather sighed. He knew where Azaleapetal, she was perched in a tree. A tree that he happened to be leaning against the trunk of. He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly, his eyes slowly closing and his ears folded back. He was tired.
He let out a sigh.
((.... Could be worse???))

{ xD don't worry, my post is half-assed and crap too.
Azaleapetal closed her eyes once more in thought. It was so muggy and awful out here. What she wouldn't give to be back in IceClan's frigid climate.
Her ears perked and frost eyes dropped to the base of her tree. A familiar shape was there. Muddy and seemingly trying to keep the appearance of laziness alive and kicking. Her mate and best friend, complete opposite, Freezefeather.
"You look bored." she said in a, funny enough, bored voice. And even more funny was the fact that Freezefeather always look like that.
CloudClan, she really needed to get better at this 'socializing' thing.

((Homework killed my muse
Freezefeather shrugged lazily as his eyes pointed upwards at where Azaleapetal had made her perch.
Honestly, their positions were quite telling. The thick-furred tom slumming it down in the mud, and the prim she-cat hiding in the tree. Freezefeather was unafraid of dirt, so to speak. Azaleapetal in contrast avoided it like the plague.
It was interesting how they actually got along, hell, somehow became mates.
"I always look bored." He replied lazily. "You're the one who sounds bored." He pointed out.

Her tail lashed below the branch, a sign of her annoyance. But it wasn't towards Freezefeather-- it was instead at the horrible weather she had to endure. How troublesome. "I am bored." she growled, not inclined to go on.
Although she missed the company of her mate, now that he was here... Azaleapetal suddenly realized the distance between them. Or perhaps it was just the walls Aza had once again put up to hide her insecurities and feelings. She remembered times they were best friends, laughing like a normal pair of Clanmates, despite how un-normal they truly were. But again, their masks were up. And again, Azaleapetal was left empty.
She missed him, even though Freezefeather was right below her.

((nah man your post is nice
Freezefeather let out a deep sigh. He too was bored, even though he was generally content with being idle and lazing about, unlike his mate. Perhaps it was the unpleasant weather. Considering his and Azaleapetal's heritage... They were currently in an area neither of them were particularly suited for.
They'd been here a little too long. Ugh.
He hardly saw Azaleapetal nowadays, even with him perching lazily somewhere in the barn. He distanced himself from all cats barring Azaleapetal. He didn't feel he needed anyone else. He'd never needed his parents. He'd never needed anyone else aside from Azalea.
He let out another deep sigh.

{nah man that post is baaad}
Azaleapetal was quiet, just as Freezefeather was. What could she say? Of course it was her nature to cut into the silence. "I barely see you anymore."
It was not a question, or even a plea. Just a statement. Leave it to Aza to say the obvious. The she-cat shifted, paws moving to lay atop one another, her body tensing as a chilly breeze stirred her smooth fur. She let out a long sigh.
"Maybe... IceClan was a bad idea. We've been so distant. We moved here to be closer, to start over from TreeClan. But now I feel like our friendship is back at square one."
It wasn't like Azaleapetal to deal with confrontation, though. She hated it, openly avoided her emotions and the problems in her way. But when it came to Freezefeather, this was not something she wanted to ignore. This was something she wanted to solve. She wanted their friendship back.
She wanted Freezefeather back.
Aza turned to catch his gaze. "What... happened to... us."

Of course, the next thing Azaleapetal says to him is the blunt truth. They didn't see each other around. Funny, it was like she'd read his thoughts and plucked a train of thought.
He sighed as he slumped against the tree. Well, more than he was already. He was so tired. Not physically exactly, but everything was so damn exhausting nowadays. Sitting around was exhausting. Thinking was exhausting. Ugh.
Freezefeather frowned. "This isn't Iceclan." He pointed out. "This is a gross barn that had been already claimed by the time we'd come here." He sighed. "But yes, we do seem to be... Somewhat distant compared to what we used to have."
Freezefeather was not one to take initiative usually. But perhaps... It was time to start. Something needed to happen. It was clear that so far... Life hadn't been everything they'd might've dreamed or never dreamed at all.
"I don't know."
Freezefeather honestly didn't sugarcoat much. He never saw much of a point too. He often didn't care enough to. Yes, he cared for Azaleapetal. But he still didn't care for lacing everything with false sweetness. The thought made him gag.
((Oh god are these two going to run into the sunset again

Azaleapetal sniffed at his words, sticking her chin into the air and giving her tail a sharp lash. "Emphasis on gross." she commented, and then turned her gaze slowly out towards the implied barn.
How revolting. How could IceClan even live here...? This was pathetic. It ruined everything IceClan had built up, in terms of pride that is. There wasn't nearly enough food to go around for an entire Clan of cats, plus that cult of rouges living nearby. Cats were going hungry, cats would freeze in leaf-bare, and cats in general were turning as sick and dirty as those cult rouges.
How disgusting. Azaleapetal hoped there wasn't an IceClanner amongst them perhaps reconsidering their alignment.
"Then what do we do?" Azaleapetal grumbled, a sudden sadness taking over her aura. She looked downwards, but not at Freezefeather. "...What, keep running around in circles until we're happy? Maybe we can convince Spiderstar to take us back. But... I doubt he'd want us."
She paused, and then grit her teeth. "We're leaving a horrible reputation for us. A couple who never talk decide to abandon TreeClan and move to IceClan, only to not make any friends or enemies and ultimately become burdens upon the Clan in the social chain. Oh, and now they feel like moving again because they're unhappy in life."
{aaaaah yes. i can totally slip by here like i never left. mmhmm...}
{and should they again...? idk where they'd go from here xD

((OMG Is it great to see you again!!! *cough* anyways idk either???
It appeared the Azaleapetal agreed with Freezefeather's assessment on the barn. She thought it deserved more emphasis, even. She looked towards the barn and he lazily followed her eyes.
Freezefeather shrugged. "... I don't know." He answered honestly. "We don't have to run again." He lifted a fictional eyebrow. "Would you want to go back to Treeclan...?" He asked.
He let out a deep sigh. "Are we trying to prove something?" He asked. "It's not a bad thing that we're seeking happiness." He pointed out. "Better than those cats who wallow in their own despair." It seemed Azaleapetal was rather agitated by the turn of events that had been taken. Personally, Freezefeather had never been interested in friends. He'd never even seen the point of social interaction beyond Azaleapetal.
((Wow my post sucks.))

Azaleapetal was quiet as Freezefeather asked if she wanted to go back to TreeClan. She pondered her response, mulled over what she should say and what she was feeling. All in all, Azaleapetal realized that... no. She didn't want to go back to TreeClan. She wanted to stay here. The pale golden warrior was certainly didn't want to consider herself a cat who just takes off because things aren't perfect in life.
Finally, she sighed. "No. I want to stay here, I suppose...." she murmured.
At his words, Azaleapetal felt her fur flatten, relaxed by his reasoning. She nodded along as he talked about cats finding happiness. But after a moment, her ears flattened, and Azaleapetal turned ice blue eyes to meet Freezefeather's. "Are... are you happy here, though?"
{great to see you too! and mine sucks too... uuugh I cringe at this >_<

((I think I may have forgotten what the heck Freeze's personality is goshdarnit))
Freezefeather closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh. ".... If you want to stay, I want to say with you." He replied. "We can make this work..." He lazily opened his eyes. "Besides, it's not like we're doing absolutely nothing." While he more or less spent his time avoiding other cats and trying to find somewhere comfortable to curl up, he did do his share of work. He went out hunting often enough and brought back prey. Technically, warriors needn't do much else, unless there's someone attacking.
Which there hasn't been.

Azaleapetal grit her teeth though at his words. She snapped her gaze down sharply, almost looking offended by what he had told her. "That's not what I said, Freezefeather. You always do things to make me happy, and I never return the favor. I will always owe you for the things you've sacrificed just to please me, it appears." Azaleapetal fixed him in a calculating stare.
Then, she narrowed her eyes. "Why don't you want to find happiness? Why do you always rely on me? I can't be everything you truly want in life. I am prideful, intolerable, selfish, annoying, absolutely frustrating at most times... how can you just accept whatever happiness I throw at you?"

Freezefeather huffed. "You think you don't return the favor?" He asked. "You never owed me in the first place. I'm not looking for you to repay me. I never sacrificed anything." Sure, he'd left Treeclan. The clan he'd been born into. But he honestly didn't really care or have any meaningful connections to Azaleapetal.
"I have happiness, Aza." He replied in a soft voice, shortening her name. "I am content living my life. Taking time to be at peace when I'm not hunting. That will always be there. You're more complicated than a nice patch of sunlight." He explained. "Perhaps you are prideful." Then he harumphed. "You're not intolerable. You're not selfish. You're not annoying. Perhaps you can be frustrating, but I imagine I frustrate you as well." He shrugged. "Aza. You're a part of my happiness, but all the other components are stable and consistent. They won't disappear or rust from neglect or my mistakes. You... And me... This relationship... Is possibly the only thing I truly put my energy in. It's worth it, Aza. I don't regret it."
((.... Azalea seems to underestimate the amount of chill Freeze has. He really doesn't care much about his surroundings too much as long as Azalea is included in that???))
