Calli dipped her paw in the river before slowly swimming to a spot a bit deeper, more towards the middle. The water was cold, but she had always liked how it flowed through her fur, and had been more focused on getting settled and hadn't gone for a swim in quite a while. The river here was a bit warmer that what she was used to, but that was fine with her. It would be different, but she could swim longer without freezing to death. She also wasn't used to swimming with fish, and after a while it got to her to much, so she swam back to shore and gently shook to get out a bit of the water.

Jude found himself sitting by the water, watching it rush past with a small smile on his muzzle. He liked it here. He'd met many cats by the river, including his best friend Natalia. 'I wonder who else I'll meet here.'

His ears perked up at the sound of someone climbing to shore. He looked over, nodding his head in greeting when he spotted the calico she-cat. 'Is she a DeathClanner? I've never seen her before.'

"Hello." she smiled when she turned and spotted the other cat. "I'm Calli. What's your name?" she addded as she approached and sat on the bank a reasonable distance from Jude. She had never seen him before, and she wondered if he was new to Deathclan or had been there a while. Probably the latter from his age. All the new cats were younger as she had observed in her short time there.

'Calli. Calli the calico, hahaha.' He smiled at his own stupid joke, almost forgetting that it was his turn to introduce himself. 'At least I know a way to remember her name.' "I'm Jude. It's nice to meet you." She looked to be a youngling, though he wasn't too sure on that since he wasn't very good at guessing age. She could be older than him for all he knew. Jude shifted around to face her, taking notice of her wet fur. "You like to swim?"

"Pleasure is mine." Calli responded.
She nodded. "The water here is a big warmer than I'm used to though." she furrowed her brow. "I'm sure I'll get used to it. I used to swim all the time..." her voice trailed off and she shook her head. "Do you?" she asked, "Like swimming. Do you like swimming."

Jude gave her a curious look. "Really?" 'She must've lived far away if something like the water was different.' "That's interesting. I don't know anyone that likes getting wet." He shook his head to the question. "No, not really."

Calli thought for a moment. "Just a little. I also swam in ponds and lakes though. I hadn't seen a river in a long time before coming here. she said. She sccrunched her nose. "I don't like getting wet, I like swimming."

'Ponds and lakes? What are those?' He knew they had to be bodies of water, so in his head he kind of imagined them as types of rivers. Maybe they ran really slow or something. Or maybe the waters were a different color. He didn't know.

Jude shrugged when she scrunched up her nose. "Yeah, I know. I just don't know anyone who would get wet for the sake of swimming."

"Well, when cats are young don't they splash about in puddles for no reason?" she asked, tilting her head. "And I'm sure I overheard some of those barn cats saying they miss swimming..."

Jude shook his head, slightly confused. He'd never seen kits splash in puddles. 'Maybe that stuff happens back wherever Calli's from.' "Okay, fine. Maybe they do, but that's just 'cause clan cats are weird."

Calli shook her head. "I don't think I'll ever understand deathclanners." she shook her head, putting enphasis on the word clan. "But I also won't ever understand any loners as my family is so kindly and example." she rolled her eyes.

"You say that as if you're not a DeathClanner yourself." 'And just because the word "clan" is in the name doesn't mean we're like the other four.' They were much cooler than the other four groups of cats. In his opinion, anyway. He looked at her curiously when she went on. "What do you mean?"

"I am as much as I am allowed to be." she smiled tightly. "It is all rather confusing." She knew that she made it a bit more confusing with that, but she didn't continue speaking. If Jude wanted a story she would share, but the more she said it, the more it confused her. "Long story short, my family's top rule is if you live in a group, which you try to avoid if you can, they are loyal towards each other in every way and blah blah blah." she added. Those were the exsact words her mom always used, minus the blah blah blah, and she had memorized them long ago.

"Oh, okay." He wondered what that meant. Did she not want to be here? He listened in interest when she answered him again, whiskers twitching in thought. "And that's a bad thing?" 'And if it is, then why'd you join?'

"Not really." she shruggedd. "My family despises Deathclan for them being ruled under one ruler with so much hatred and distrust between some cats. That's why I came here. My family won't follow."
