|| Hazelblaze || Rainlight exited the nursery with a stretch, then happily made her way to the apprentices' den. Today was a big day for her great-granddaughter. She poked her head inside, giving a quick look around. "Hazelpaw, your assessment's today! Eat some breakfast and then meet me by the entrance." She backed out and padded over to their meeting spot, eyes trained on the apprentices' den as she waited for the young cat to get up.

Hazelpaw groaned and practically rolled out of her flowery nest.

Rainlight watched the den patiently, wondering if her call had even woken Hazelpaw up.

"Good morning." She greeted, flicking her tail toward the prey heap. "Go grab something to eat and we'll be on our way."

"Good! Now let's be on our way." She headed out, stopping once they reached a high hill. She knew the hunting part would be tricky for Hazelpaw, so she made sure to stop somewhere where her apprentice could get a good view. "Alright. Catch two pieces of prey before sunhigh, then meet me back here. Good luck." She instructed, taking a seat. The sun still hung low in the sky, so she had some time.

Hazelpaw nodded. It was chilly today. Rather windy at that. She looked around for prey and there was none to be found. It took her hours until she finally saw a lift brown creature a bit westward. She slowly began to creep towards it. She pounced and let out a yowl. Birds squawked and flew off. She could've caught those... Her front paws hurt as if she pounced on a rock. It was just a weird lump on a tree root. Hazelpaw was furious. And let out a yowl of frustration. This only scared of son other birds.
Her chest heaved with anger.
She was a stupid cripple
It was all luck before.

Rainlight sat patiently, grooming her fur a countless number of times. She wondered where Hazelpaw could be, and if she'd caught anything yet. Then a yowl was heard. Rainlight frowned, flattening her white ears. 'That can't be good.' She looked up at the sky. It wasn't noon yet. Hazelpaw still had some time. 'Come on, you can do it.'

Hazelpaw looked and looked about suddenly she looked up it was noon. She was a failure. All her siblings were perfect healthy sweet calm and quite and she was a disgusting monster. her mother and father couldn't understand why she was even understand how she was their child. She wasn't good enough she'd never be a warrior she was wrong. She couldn't help but crumple in the field. Her conscious pining her to the ground.

|| sorry this is so late ||
Rainlight looked up once more, this time sighing in slight disappointment. Time was up, and Hazelpaw wasn't here. Getting to her paws, she wandered off to go find her.
Eventually she stumbled upon her granddaughter, who was on the ground. She bent down to give her a lick on the head. "Don't worry, dear. We can try again tomorrow."

Hazelpaw, eyes red, nodded solemnly and followed her great grandmother out of camp.
