Windkit was sitting as still as possible, one paw raised in the air. On top of his paw rested a ladybug, and this was the first ladybug Windkit had ever seen. He didn't take his eyes off of it, but could sense that others were near by their scents. He spoke very softly, not wanting to disturb his new friend. "Hey guys, Come check this out."

Deerkit had been rolling around in her nest of moss, bored out of her mind. Upon hearing another cat whispering, her ears perked in interest. Jumping to her paws, the spun around and spotted the young tom. Stumbling over, still having bad coordination, she stopped once she was a foot or so away.
She paused, quickly spotting the small red oval that was resting on his paw. Her head tilted. "What's that?" she asked. She'd never seen the creature. It opened and closed it's tiny red wings. They appeared to have several black dots on them as well. How peculiar it was.

He took a quick glance at the kit that responded, then focused back on the bug. "I dunno. It kinda tickles!" He squeaked, trying not to squirm as it crawled around his paw. He held it out to Deerkit. "What should we call it?" It looked like a very, very, very small round flower. That was all he could really compare it to. He hadn't seen many things that were red.
Windkit stared wide-eyed as it continued to crawl around him. Why was it so active? 'Maybe it doesn't like me.' "You wanna hold it?"

["red circle" very creative *cough*]
"Really?" she laughed. Her blue eyes were wide, carefully scanning the creature. "Name it?" she asked, surprised. "Hmm..." she paused, uncertain. "Red circle?" She winced at the name. It was rather dumb. Perhaps he had something better in mind. "Do you have a name in mind?"
She was a bit taken aback when he asked. H-hold it? It wasn't scary or creepy and definitely not dangerous-looking either. "Sure!" she squeaked. It looked fun. She held out her tiny brown paw. What if it didn't like her?

"Red circle..." He said aloud, trying out the name. It was certainly fitting. "Yeah, red circle! I like it. It's its new name." He giggled, shaking his head when she asked if he had a name. "Red circle" was perfect.
When she agreed to hold it, Windkit tilted his paw just enough so that the bug would slip off. It plopped onto her tiny paw, and the tabby squealed in delight. "I think it likes you!" He exclaimed, even though it hadn't done anything.

She smiled. Red circle. Perhaps not so bad after-all. She laughed lightly, her tail flicking back and forth restlessly. It scuttled around in circles on his paw.
As he plopped the red circle onto her paw, she tried to duplicate the young tom's position. She stood still, her paw slightly outstretched. "Really, you think?" she asked, giggling. Her eyes widened and the red circle scuttled around again. "You're right, it does tickle!" she squeaked, rather amused.

"Yeah!" Windkit chirped, smiling wide as the ladybug skittered around her paw. 'I guess these things like to tickle cats, don't they?' He tipped his head to the side. 'Maybe it's actually called a "tickle circle" instead of a "red circle". I gotta ask momma later. She would know.' Momma knew everything.
The tabby kitten let out a soft purr, focusing his gaze on the insect once more. "Where do you think it came from?"

How odd it was. Red circle. Surely it had a different name. She would ask mum later, whenever she got the chance. She was very smart.
Her gaze and thoughts reverted back to the red circle. "That's a good question," she replied. She wondered. She had learned a bit about flowers, so maybe the two were linked somehow. "Maybe they come from flowers."

"You think so?" He asked, watching it in curiousity. Then, without saying anything, he raced outside and stayed out there for a few moments. He soon returned to the nursery with a little flower, dropping it at Deerkit's paws. "Like this one?" Windkit questioned, wondering if the red circle would act differently with a flower around.

"Yeah -" she was cut off when the young tom raced out of the nursery and returned a few moments later with a flower. "Great idea!" she squeaked.
Slowly lowering her paw, she watched as the ladybug waddled and fell off her paw. She yelped. Before she could attempt to help it back up, it flew away and landed on the flower petal moments later. "Maybe it likes the flower better?"
Then again, she didn't see how they could come from flowers. Were they born like kits or differently? She'd never heard of any other way for creatures to be born.

Windkit gasped when it fell off, and gasped even louder when it flew over to the flower. "It can fly...?" He whispered in astonishment, crouching down to be level with the flower. He sniffed one of the petals carefully. It didn't really smell like the red circle. It smelled like a regular old flower. He gave his sister a nod. "Maybe. I just found it on the ground earlier. I bet it was looking for a flower," then he grinned, "and we were the ones to help it out!"

It took her a moment to register it had flied. "Oh," she squeaked simply, in her high-pitched voice. It... it just flew. She blinked rapidly, crouching down to duplicate his movements again, sniffing the flower. "We helped the red circle!" she exclaimed, feeling accomplished.
Backing away from the flower a few seconds later, she rubbed her nose with her big paw. Suddenly, she sneezed, letting out a small "achoo". Her pale pink nose twitched violently. "Whew," she giggled.

"Yeah, we did!" He squeaked, hopping up. Then she sneezed. Startled, his fur fluffed up to the point where he looked like a ball of fuzz. "Are you okay?" He asked, staring at her. "Did the circle make you sneeze?"

She giggled again, laughing at his fur. "Yeah, I'm great," she squeaked. Her nose twitched again. "I think the flower did it," she said, approaching it again, at a safe non-sneeze distance.

"The flower, huh?" He scrunched up his nose and cautiously lifted it up with a claw. He then hopped three-leggedly to the exit, where he dropped the flower and patted it down with a paw. He trotted back over to Deerkit. "There. Now it won't bug you anymore!"
