oh deer [private]

[Deerkit]

Deerkit had always been awake before the other kits. She didn't know why. It wasn't always pleasant though, because she had no one to play with. She frowned. Maybe she'd get lucky and someone new would wake early as well.

Trotting toward the exit of the nursery, she peered outside. A soft breeze blew in her direction, ruffling her messy fur. Sitting down, she relaxed, watching the sun rise. The sky was huge, full of colors. It was as if it had exploded. It was a beautiful mix of blues, pink, oranges, reds and purples.

Her eyes drifted shut and she almost fell asleep standing when someone touched her paw. She jumped back, tail puffing up and eyes wide. Her small ears were flat on her head. A black bug (*cough* beetle *cough*) crawled toward her. It had six thin legs and some weird looking claw on it's face. She shuddered, running off.

"Phew," she mewed, reaching a safe corner in the nursery.

Deerkit

Pounding paw steps awoke Onyxkit, he sighs, opens his eyes and smacks his head on the ground to clear the noise. He stumbles to his paws and he moans "Why is everybody so nosey?" he makes a face, rolls his eyes and turns to the source of the noise, A small kit in a corner of the nursery. "And you are?"

[Deerkit]

The sound of another kit groaning in annoyance made her jump. Eek! She woke someone up on accident. Great. Just what she needed... annoying other kits.

She turned to the older kit, her chest instinctively puffed out to make herself look bigger. She shook out her fur, stopping herself from looking stupid. "I'm Deerkit," she squeaked. "Who are you?"

[Onyxpaw]

He grinds his teeth "onyx... kit of course..." he notices her reaction when he grumbled. His orange eye blazes for a moment but it fades back to a normal color. He frowns an thinks was she afraid of me? His blue eyes gains saturation and he smiles, "I take it you are quite young?" He starts towards her but stops worried that she would be frightened.

[Deerkit]

She smiled, despite his anger. "Nice to meet you, Onyxkit. That's a really nice name," she mewed, giggling out of habit. He looked rather upset that she hadn't know his name, but she was still a bit new so it wasn't her fault. 

She looked surprised. "Huh?" she squeaked. She wasn't all that much younger than him, so it seemed. So was just a really small kit. She couldn't explain why, but she had always been that way. "I'm not too much younger than you," she mewed, pale pink nose twitching.

[Onyxpaw]

Onyx smiles as she complements his name he sits down, "alright then, Deerkit." He tilts his head to the side He frowns for a moment, he stands to his feet and pads the ground. "So do you normally tromp around the nursery and wake up sleeping cats?"

[Deerkit]

She thought for a moment. They were probably a moon or two apart. Shaking herself from thought, she looked over at him, smiling when he smiled. She looked over at him, sitting down a moment later. "I'm proud to admit that was my very first time!" she purred. It wasn't something to be too proud of, but she was a kit, there wasn't much for her right now. 

She never understood why kits got so mad when they were woken up. All they did was sleep! Sleep, sleep, sleep! It was kind of unrealistic, seeing how kits were only kits for so long. Why not enjoy yourself before you take up annoying apprentice duties? 

[Onyxpaw]

Onyxkit grumbles "Not something to be proud of." He shakes his head "Whatever, uh. What do you want to do... seeing as we don't want to wake up the other kits

[Deerkit]

[yeah, no problem. feel free to reply whenever you want]

She giggled. What a grumpy kit he was! She was a tad surprised, honestly, but it didn't bug her. She was determined to make him laugh eventually. Either that or see him smile again. It was really hard to get her down.

Her ears perked in interest. "Want to play outside?" she asked, trotting to the exit of the nursery and waiting for his response, head titled with curiosity.

[Onyxpaw]

Onyxkit tilts his head and frowns with a sarcastic look on his face when she giggles.

"Yeah... sure." He frowns and mutters to himself "It's not like you could ever beat me in a fight or something..."

[Deerkit]

Trotting outside, the small kit peered around. She always played with the leaves. It was fun, of course! Maybe he would enjoy it, too. She watched as the colorful leaves fell, drifting down to the camp floor. As one was falling, she ran toward it and jumped, snatching it midair. She landed a bit unsteadily, but ignored it.

"Want to see who can catch the most leaves in three minutes?" she asked, daring him with a playful expression, her tail swishing back and forth.

[Onyxpaw]

He follows her out and says "You're on" He looks at her and says "Ready? set. GO!" He runs towards the falling leaves and snatches two out of the air.
