Echo glances over her shoulder to make sure he didn't crash into the rock, only to see he'd gone the wrong way. She couldn't help but laugh at this, her giggles carrying back to the fellow kit as her looped around to rejoin her. Unfortunately, her momentary distraction had given him the chance he needed to catch up, and he was now hard on her tail once more. Returning her attention forward, she keeps running, weaving around a warrior and apprentice she assumed were off to train. In her avoidance of hitting them, she hadn't realise her friend was so close until she felt him brush her tail. Gasping slightly, she tries to veer away from him. To no avail, of course.
Echo hits the ground with a thud, but this time she stays there, her friend holding her down. She struggles a little, trying to roll out of his grip once more, before giving in to defeat. Giggling slightly, she peers up at him mock defiantly. "Fine, you win" She allowed, relaxing her muscles so that he'll get off. It was a battle trick she'd heard of where you convince them you're giving up, then flip them off you and attack. Keeping the smirk of her face, she attempts to roll them both over in hopes to win straight away, seeing as she didn't have to give any warning. The tables were to be turned instantly, just as she'd stated.

Windkit laughed in delight when he felt fur beneath his paws. This time he wouldn't let her go. Attempting to push her down to the earth, he made sure not to play too rough. He didn't want to hurt her.
He was about to leap off of her when she said he won, but he found himself slamming against the ground. "Hey!" He squeaked, now underneath her. He grinned. She was smart! He wiggled underneath her in an attempt to escape, eventually just going limp and giving up. Even if he did get free, she'd just win again. "You're too good at this game!"

Echo can't help but giggle slightly at his look of triumph. He's so happy at managing to tackle her and pin her down successfully. Yet as she turns the tables instantly, she realises he must have forgotten the rules quite quickly. The child offers a grin in return, lashing her tail slightly and pinning him down forcefully. However, she does make sure she's definitely not hurting him, her muscles tense and ready to spring away at any second. "I said warning isn't necessary" She points out, her voice honeyed and her eyes sparkling like little stars as she grins down at him.
The second he goes limp she readies herself to dogpdge and run, yet he makes no move against her, instead speaking up once more. "Of course I am silly, I made it up" She purrs out in response, her voice almost singsong. Without warning Echo springs off him and dashes off across camp, tossing a teasing laugh over her shoulder as she runs. "Don't tell me you've forgotten the rules so soon?" She calls back to him, training her focus on avoiding any rocks and spindly stumps nearby, dodging between legs and various other obstacles scattered across her path.

"I know, I know." Windkit huffed, getting up and following her once more. He still had high hopes of catching her and winning. 'I'm gonna get so good at this game, she'll see!' He thought, dodging paws and bodies as he raced behind her. Even if he didn't ever catch her, this was still fun. The fact that he was playing with a friend was all that matttered.
Jumping over a few rocks and sliding under the bellies of some clanmates, the tabby consistently remained two tail-lengths behind. Echokit looked pretty far away from his position, though. His laughter carried across the breeze, and he was sure that she could hear him. 'I just hope she's having fun, too.'

Echo couldn't help but get a little tired by now. They'd been running flat out so far, and she'd constantly have to keep speeding up in order to avoid him, as well as quick thinking and rolling away from him. Besides theyrpd caught each other once. However, she was still determined, and kept running, slightly under a warrior who send an itprritated glance toward her retreating form. She just giggles slightly, dashes in a wide berth around a rock, and loops around another cat, almost tripping them up. "Sorry!" She calls back to them, responding almost instantly to their shout of caution.
Unfortunately, she finds her pace slowing down, and struggles to maintain the distance between. Them. If only she was a Fireclan cat, then she'd be really fast! Alas, this was not so, and she soon found he was a lot closer to her tail than she'd originally thought he was. His laughter echoes in her ears, and she repeats it with a giggle of her own, tail lashing slightly in at least the slightest hope of deterring him from tackling her. Of course, she certainly didn't expect such a thing to work out, and whether or not he caught her this game was certainly incredibly fun.

Windkit skidded to a stop when Echokit nearly tripped someone up. The only problem was, he didn't skid to a stop. He instead tumbled forward, and found himself somersaulting over and over again. 'Ow!' He thought, catching himself mid-roll and staggering to his paws. 'Aw man, I'm gonna be way behind now!'
Catching a glimpse of Echokit's tail, the tabby tom took off. He quickly reached her, almost close enough to leap. Almost. 'Just a little more.' He lifted a paw and tried to bat the end of her tail. It seemed like she was slowing down. 'She better not be going easy on me!' "Almost got you, Echokit!"

Echo's breath was coming in hard gasps now, and she tried to regulate her breathing to suit her pace. She really didn't run much, in fact, she's never exerted herself this much in her life, so she certainly hadn't gained the stamina for it. Unfortunately, her new friend appeared to be a whole other story. Perhaps he plays more games than she, ones that include running. Certainly that makes the most sense she's figured so far.
At the tom's slight bat of her tail, she gasps in surprise. She hadn't realised he was that close. She flicks her tail slightly, hoping to possibly distract him as she runs on, yet she finds she can't pull ahead. Still, she offers a laugh that sounds a bit more like a strangled gasp for air echoed by a tiny breathless chuckle. Yet it still portrays a hint of amusement. Knowing she can't pull ahead, the child wonders if perhaps she can confuse him. Making up her mind, Echo spins around completely, skidding backwards a few steps in the direction she'd been running and causing a huge puff of dust before she takes off again in the direction they'd come from, aiming to run straight past him. Unfortunately, she realised, if he has quick enough reactions he can tackle her side on and win this. Oh well, it's still fun, and she'll have to quit soon anyway in favour of a breather and something to drink.

Windkit panted heavily, gaze not wavering from her tail even when she tried to trick him. He was too focused to be tricked. 'I will get her. I know I will.'
Blinking in confusion when she spun around, he found that he couldn't gather his paws in time, so he kept racing forward. 'Now I'm either gonna run right past her or right into her. Oh no!' He thought in dismay, bracing himself for impact. He held his breath, maybe for a little too long, then realized she had taken off in another direction. He couldn't see her through the dust cloud. Coughing, he took a moment to gasp for breath, then bounded away in her direction. He kept his eyes peeled, hoping to spot her quickly.

(lol, this little game is amazing.) Echo couldn't help but be at least a tad bit surprised that he didn't take the opportunity to tackle her, instead sprinting straight past her with a look of confusion. She can't help but giggle at this, resulting in a coughing fit thanks to the cloud of dust that had picked up around them. Gasping slightly, the child shakes her head and runs off once more, heading back the way they'd come. Only to happen once more upon the feline she'd tripped up earlier. In a brash attempt at not tripping them up yet again, the child performs a rather dramatic swerve to the left, hoping to loop around them.
Unfortunately, she's running to fast, and Echo just so happens to be that lucky little kitty hpwho manages the feat of tripping herself up instead, tumbling to the ground and rolling a few paces as well. Still panting, Echo struggles ton untangle herself before twisting onto her belly, catching the warrior's concerned gaze. "I'm okay!" She calls - or more gasps - out to them before stumbling back to her paws, determined not to give up just yet. However, as she sets off running abain, she has no doubt that Windkit is going to win this thing. Oh well, it's still really fun!

It wasn't as hard to find Echokit as he thought it'd be. She was the only one tumbling around. Windkit giggled. 'Now's my chance!' Heaving large breaths, he quickened the pace and soon caught up to her. Taking a few long long strides, he bunched his back legs and did his best jump, paws extended. He closed his eyes, silently praying to CloudClan that he'd feel fur beneath his paws. He wanted to win, and most importantly he wanted to prove Echokit wrong- he wanted to prove to her that he wasn't such a slowpoke!

Echo had just swerved slightly left when she felt a weight causing her to topple over just moments after she'd managed to get up. 'Perhaps right would have been a better idea' She muses as her new friends tackles her to the ground, causing her tabby coat to pick up yet more dust then it had previously obtained. Giglling slightly, the child tries to wriggle out from underneath him before allowing her body to go slack, eyes glittering with amusement as she giggles between pants.
"I...think you....win..." She laughs out between gasps, tail flickering slightly in the dirt as her gaze flies to his. It takes a little while, but she gathers her breath somewhat and wriggles again beneath him, trying to cuff his ear with a paw before her eyes flick off to one side at the sight of movement. With a slight gasp, she hushes him and cranes her neck to peer at the shiny beetle nearby. "What's that? It's so...shiny." She giggles slightly, making sure to keep her voice quiet lest she startle it as it crawls toward her slowly.

Windkit purred triumphantly. Finally! He giggled when she cuffed his ear, and he promptly rolled off of her. He didn't think she'd try to run again, seeing how much she was panting. He blinked in surprise when she hushed him, and he looked over at what she was craning her neck toward.
It was a shiny little black thing. It almost looked like the night sky lit by the moon. He inched closer and sniffed it curiously. His eyes gleamed when it crawled over to Echokit. "It moves like the red circle! Maybe it's a black circle?"

Echo purrs triumphantly as her paw successfully cuffs his ears before he rolls off her, leaving her lying awkwardly on her back upon the ground. It's a lot easier to breath without a cat on top of her, and she regains her breath quicker now as she rolls carefully onto her stomach, watching her new friend curiously as she approaches the tiny black insect, sniffing it much like one would to test the scent of anything else. And yet from Echo's perspective she finds it to be rather lacking in scent.
The small child jumps slightly at her friend's raised volume, and she hurried to hush him. "Shh! You'll scare it away!" She whisper yells, before returning her attention to the little bug as it crawls toward her. Whiskers twitching slightly, the little tabby lowers her head and follows her friend's example in giving it a tentative sniff. "Red circle? What's that?" She questions, voice still held to a whisper as she peers curiously up at Windkit before switching attention back to the little black bug. "I think we should call it Midnight, cause it looks like the sky without stars."

Windkit drew silent and squished himself to the floor. He looked at her with big eyes. "The red circle is this little red spotted thing. It crawls around just like that." He whispered in reply, still not knowing the name for "ladybug". He slowly snuck closer, trying to get a whiff of it. It smelled yucky. He wrinkled his nose in disgust.
His ears perked up at her suggestion. "I like that name!" He chirped loudly, then quickly remembered that he had to be quiet. He said it again, but this time in a hushed tone. "I mean, I like that name." He repeated quietly, eyes trained on the bug.

Echo pricks her ears toward Windkit curiously as he explains to her what a 'red circle' is. After his explanation, she lets out a little gasp of recognition and giggles quietly, giving him a slight flick with her tail. "Its called a ladybug, silly" she purrs, remembering when someone - most likely a queen - had explained to her what a ladybug was when she'd spotted one and found it smelled like flowers and a strange smell she's now come to call 'bug scent.'
At his raised volume, she flinches away slightly, eyes widening, before she recovers herself and hushing him again, her eyes flitting toward Midnight in case he might have scared it. When he corrects himself to a whisper, the child purrs and offers her friend a grin, glad of his approval. Her eyes switch back to the bug and she tucks her forepaws beneath her chest, watching as it crawls around, never getting close enough to touch them like it's scared they'll squish it. 'Its okay little Midnight...we won't hurt you. We gonna be friends" She assures it, using a cooing voice she'd heard queens use on kits when they were upset. It always seemed to make them feel better, so why shouldn't it work with Midnight? (We need to find a way to finish this thread now that they're apprentices)
