@saffron
Patch didn't even know what to do anymore. She wanted to go to the barn, but that would only confirm Pain's theory of her disloyalty. The she-cat merely sat by the camp, her gaze fixed onto the land in front of her.
The feline didn't even know what she wanted to do with herself, she had no place to go, no cats to meet up with. She just had all the free time she wanted at the moment. A sound interrupted her thoughts, she looked over her shoulder. She answered in a calm tone.
"Hello?"

Saffron was sitting by a small pool of water, staring at her reflection. She was still mesmerized by the transformation she had gone through. When she had first been found, she was deeply unhealthy and her fur clung weirdly to her ribs. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her bones were very visible through her skin. Now, she had undergone a transformation, and she was much healthier than before. She looked a bit normal, if not a little skinny.
Her ears twitched, picking up another life form not too far away. She could hear the heartbeat, and it wasn't that of any prey. It was another cat. She stood up and turned around, looking for the cat. She turned around a tree and spotted a creamish she-cat, and it had also sensed her. Saffron ducked behind the tree as the cat turned and spoke. Hello?
Saffron stood behind the tree, not knowing what to do. She had only met an older cat once, and that was her mother. Her mother wasn't the kindest cat... perhaps the opposite. But, then again, this was a different cat, and Saffron had to give her a chance. She stepped around the corner of the tree and into the light, sunshine hitting her gray coat. She didn't know how to react, but only showed herself. She didn't know how to respond. Saffron glanced the cat over, noting that she was pretty, and her green eyes were very bright.

Patch was surprised that the cat by her was in fact a kit. A pretty small one, was she okay? The she-cat stood up and turned towards the stranger, her eyes filled with curiosity rather than hostility. She edged herself closer, trying to get a closer look.
She hadn't known many younger cats, except for Stormy and Spark. The stranger seemed unlikely to respond in due time, so she replied for them. "Um... Hi, are you new around here? I haven't seen you before." She seemed fairly scared for the safety of this cat, like she always did. But it was more emotion than usual, considering that it was a kit.

Saffron caught a glance from the other cat, she could tell that the cat was inspecting her, before asking if she was new. Saffron guessed she could say she was, but not exactly. She spoke. "I guess you could say I'm new," she started off, before continuing, "I know one other cat here, named Root. She found me. I've been exploring this land for a bit. I thought I would die here."
She went to far, that was really dramatic. Saffron drew an apologetic look from her eyes.

Patch's concerned look only grew more, the kit almost died? She noted the apologetic gaze given to her and she calmed down a bit, her fur lying down. "Well, this is Deathclan, ironic enough." She replied, whiskers twitching. "But I'm glad you're fine. How's the territory been?" She meowed.

Saffron gave a small laugh as the stranger said that it was ironically named Deathclan. She wanted the concern to go from her eyes, to show the other cat she was fine, but she didn't think that would happen. Saffron felt a twinge of emotion as the stranger said that she was glad that Saffron was okay. No one, ever, had said that they were happy she was alive. She had felt lonely and worthless in the world, exactly how her mom had wanted her to be. She wanted to scowl at the thought of her mom. Then the stranger asked how the territory had been. She shrugged, it was normal, right? She hadn't been to many other territories.
"I guess it isn't unusual. I haven't seen many lands. I only remember being cold when I was young, and being abandon in the snow." Dang. Whatever Saffron said sounded so negative and dramatic. She needed to get her thoughts on the positive side.

Patch smiled, the stranger looked slightly content. She was alright, right? She had no idea who this cat was, but it made her beam when she heard her laugh. It made her feel proud, like she actually positively influenced a cat's life, unlike all the other cats she has met so far.
Patch then felt a small sting of grief, who would abandon their own kid? "Abandoned, huh? I guess parenting these days never change... And yeah, it's simple here, but it's home." It was hard to call Deathclan her home, looking back on it. But then again, life in the real clans didn't too much appeal to her now.

Saffron then wondered if this cat she was talking to had a past. They all had a story, some where more interesting than others, but they certainly all did. She looked at the cat curiously while she said 'parenting never changes.' What could she mean by that? Did her own parents abandon her? Saffron thought maybe Deathclan was the clan made for outcasts, and cats who didn't want to take the world head on and be loners. Saffron guessed she could call this place her home, too.
