Jude was settled in a patch of sun, enjoying the warmth while it was still here. Leaf-bare was approaching, and he knew he'd be wishing for sunshine within the next few months. He had to savor the moment.
'Some company would make this even better, though.' He thought, looking around for others. 'It'd be nice to talk to someone, as long as they're sane and their name isn't Patch.'

Root watched as leaves started to fall and smile. The leaves looked fun to play in and she was starting to be more in shape. The silver tabby began to gather a pile of leaves and backed up, admiring her pile, before grinning and making a leap into the mixture of reds, oranges, and greens.
"Here I coommmeeeee!!!"

Jude turned at the sound of an excited voice, twitching his whiskers in amusement when he saw that the cat was jumping into some leaves. He trotted over once the she-cat had plopped down onto the leaves.
"That was a great jump. A 10/10, really."

Root looked up and saw a pretty beaten up stranger. She remembered the first cat she met here - he was pretty friendly and had scars too, so this stranger was okay, right? "Aww thank you!" she purred, leaping over to the tom. "I think yours would be an 11/10 though! Do you want to jump too? We can collect more leaves for you."

He chuckled when she bounced on over. Something about this cat was vaguely familiar. He couldn't quite figure it out. Jude gave her a smile when she went on. "Aw, thanks. And I'd love to make one. Maybe we could collect enough leaves to make a pile big enough for the two of us?"

Root gave a nod of approval with a flashy smile when he suggested they would make a pile large enough for the both of them. He was big, and she was little, so they really needed to collect! "Okay, we can do that." With that, Root left the scarred stranger to find some leaves. Big ones were more like it. She just loved the feel of the texture and the smells and the crinkles and crackles the leaves made.

Jude was pleased to see how happy she was with the idea. Watching her scamper off, he turned the other way and went in another direction to look for leaves.
Once having a mini-pile made, he started dragging it over to her smashed pile with his tail. Most of his leaves were brown and old, but that meant they'd be more fun to crush. He looked around for the little she-cat, wondering how many leaves she had gathered.
