Rabekkah perked her ears. There was some sort of singing coming from somewhere and... She glanced up and spotted another cat. She followed the other cat to the caves. "Acctually, no. I heard your song and followed you here.

As the cat spoke Mother's ears flicked backwards. She squinted and tried to make out a more solid figure of what the cat looked like. Mother cursed her bad vision, but smiled at the cat anyways. "I see. Well I hope you enjoyed my song and weren't just following me to get me to stop." She chuckled and turned back to look at the cave.
"Have you ever been in them? I haven't." Mother stated and grinned over her shoulder at the stranger. To most it was very quickly evident that Mother was a bit of strange kitty compared to some.

Rebby laughed. "If I didn't like it I would have gone in the other irection." she responded with a laugh. "I've been in before. I don't come to far from family to often, and when I do I make sure to make the most of it."
"I'm Rabekkah. People call me Becky, Rebby, Ray, whatever."

Mother grinned wide. So far she liked this she-cat. She had already complimented Mother's song and she wasn't trying to fight so that was two positives. She had been in the caves as well! Mother wrapped her tail around her paws as she sat down facing the mouth of the cave. "Perhaps you wouldn't mind accompanying me then?" Mother asked.
When she stated her name, Rabbekkah, and her many nicknames, Mother couldn't help but laugh again. "That's quite a few names, I don't have nearly as many to remember. They call me Mother." She told the other she-cat. Mother's tail tip flicked slightly at the sound of her name. It brought up annoying memories from her kithood that she preferred to forget if she could. Her smile didn't waver though.

Rabekkh nodded. "Sure, I'll acompany you. A warning though. The cnyons are hot and dry. The caves are cold nd humid," she responded. When Mother shared her name Rabekkah paused for a moment before starting into the caves. "Did you pick that name, or is it a nickname, or... What?" she asked, mkaking sure her pace wasn't to fast.

When Rabekkah agreed to go with Mother into the caves she smiled and nodded, as if approving of the choice. It would be extremely helpful to have a sort of guide to make sure that Mother didn't just get completely lost in the caves. With her bad eyesight and never having been in the caves it was entirely possible.
Mother happily followed Rabekka when she began the treck into the darkness. It was fairly easy to keep up with the other cat. The question she asked made Mother laugh. "Who in their right mind would chose the name Mother for themself? No, no, my parents, who were a bit on the awful side, decided that they'd name me Mother. I never really thought of anything good to change it to, but I definitely didn't decide on the name for myself." Mother explained, squinting as she tried to see the other cat. She could make it just fine with her hearing, but she really wished it was easier to see in the caves.

(Sorry, my muse is down until further notice.) Rabekkah thought for a moment. "What did you call your mother then? Did you guys have conversations like, 'Hey mommy?' 'Yes mother?'" she asked with a tile of her head.

[no worries it's cool.]
Rabekka was quite funny. Her next question made Mother burst in a fit of giggles. Once again there was a small twitch of her tail tip though. "To be quite honest I didn't call her much of anything. We stopped talking when I was very small. Usually I'd just call her by her name." Mother explained. Her mom's strange naming scheme and extremely strange expectations had made Mother leave when she was very young. As she walked she kicked a small stone along the ground.

"oh." she said. "I'm sorry. I sortta know how you feel, but I was a kit and it wasn't by option when My parents were left behind." She tilted her head down slightly. "It would have happened anyway though. I wasn't on quite good terms with my father. The rest didn't know, so my sister wouldnt have a clue if you asked her."

Mother was beginning to feel a little uncomfortable with all the talk of bad families and parents. If this cat started crying then Mother was booking it out of these caves. She could find her own way around. The mentioning of a sister brought up a good chance for a topic change. "Who's your sister?" Mother asked quickly, breezing past the mentioning of father issues and leaving behind her family. Mother hated sad topics and would much rather talk about happy things and make jokes and wander through caves looking to explore.
