Esther had settled herself comfortably on a tree branch. She had been here since sunset, which was about an hour ago. The stars weren't fully out yet, but some were starting to appear. This was a good spot to view them, so she figured she'd stay.
The ragdoll looked down at the sound of some rustling. It sounded like someone else was around, but it was too dark to see anything. "Hello?"

Stryx has never been one for strolls, but it was nice to stretch his legs now and again. Maybe even do some hunting, gotta prepare for leaf-bare. Ugh, but I hate working. He padded over an overhanging tree, sitting down with a sigh. I'll work later, it's too late anyways.
His bi-colored ears perked up as someone said hello to him, he jumped up slightly and looked around. Who said that?! Stryx craned his head up, and in the darkness seeing a fluffy ragdoll she-cat looking down at him. "Oh, hello there. Didn't see ya."

Esther listened closely for a response, giggling quietly at all the movement. 'I must have startled them.' Afraid of offending the cat, she quickly snapped her mouth shut and held in her amusement. Then a voice followed the noise. It sounded like a tomcat.
She crept along her tree branch to get a better look, though still couldn't see him. Sighing, she shuffled down the tree and landed a tail-length away from the cat. "That's okay. Sorry for scaring you."
