Shrewkit was getting used to the area around him, he had been curious about the barn ever since he opened his eyes and saw the roof above him. It was... Strange. To him, at least. He waddled around the barn, tripping on his paws every now and then. A giant screech made him yelp and he faced the sound. A large bird, taller than he was, was standing outside, pecking at the grass. It screeched again.

Shrewkit turned tail and barreled in the direction of his mother's nest. He looked around for his siblings, catching the sight of Lightningkit. He ran towards her. "Lightningkit, there's a scary loud bird out thereeee."

Lightningkit had been laying in her nest, considering weather to get up and face a new day or pretend to be asleep, when Shrewkit burst in. Pretty much everybody else was up and about, so she was the only one there. She sighed and pushed herself out of her nest and listened to what Shrewkit had to say. "Oh Cloudclan, not a bird." she rolled her eyes. "I hate to brake it to you, but there are birds everywhere, and they are ussually pretty loud." she she made her way over to Shrewkit and walked past, poking her head out and searching for this bird. It was much bigger than her, but most things were, and it was rather loud. She turned back to Shrewkit. "I've never seen a bird like that though, your right, you have a right to be afraid of it."

Lightningkit had honestly thought that Shrewkit couldn't be afraid of anything, but she had thought that of a lot of cats and found it not to be true. She returned to her nest and Shrewkit and placed her tail lightly on his shoulder. "It's alright, this is the reason we have queens. To fight off things like that if they try to hurt us. Warriors too, but queens are always near by in the nursery. You'll be safe in here." she knew she was probably horrible at comforting cats, so she decided to shut up right about then.

Shrewkit relaxed slightly, his wide eyes still locked onto the bird. He felt more comfortable at his sister's words, but he still didn't trust the large bird's movements. He glanced up at Lightningkit. "O-Okay... But if that bird dares to stray near, I shall fight!" He said with zero confidence. He still tried to play the brave warrior, he just didn't play the part well.

Lghtningkit nodded. "You can do that, I'm sure, but not if your all hyper before and lose all your energy. How about this, you look away and calm down for a little and I'll let you know if it comes closer, ok?" she said, turning so that she was the one who could see it, not him.

Shrewkit blinked, and his eyes softened. "Umm... Okay..." He murmured, sitting down. He glanced towards the ceiling, and drifted off into thought. How did this den even get here? Why were there strange cats who were not in the clan here as well? He kept telling himself questions.

:Lightningkit watched Shrewkit for a moment, glancing at the chicken every now and then , before speaking up. "What are you thinking about?" she asked, figuring talking was a better distraction than just looking away.

Shrewkit was so invested in thought that he almost didn't hear Lightningkit's voice. He flinched up. "U-Um... I don't know, just some random questions and thoughts." He murmured, lowering his head. Every minute or two, he snuck a glance at the large white bird. It had moved a bit closer, not too much, but still noticeable.

He hid his nervousness, told himself that it was alright.

Lightningkit nodded. "Well... what do you want to do? The only rule, it may not involve chickens."

Shrewkit flicked his tail as he stared blankly at his sister. He thought for a moment or two, and sighed. "Um... You want to go play in the straw..? I don't really know what to do..." He chuckled awkwardly.

Lightningkit shrugged, turning on her heal and moving towards a wall. "Come. I'll explain the rules of this game to you."
