I-I may have doodled... uhm, it's not good, but I... wanted to share it with everyone... *shyly cringes* I'll probably regret this... but, uh, I made a new character. I can't quite draw Applekit's tortoiseshell fur, so I just colored it pink and blue because IT MADE SENSE and was easy. Also if you were curious, this was done on MS Paint with a mouse. I really need to get a new art program. Is Fire Alpaca a good one, for anyone reading this and knows...? Or should I buy a better one someday....?
And, uhm, I have an artsy question. How do you great artists on VWW draw your art? Do you use a mouse, or have you spent money on a drawing tablet? I looked into Wacom tablets, and they're EXPENSIVE. The cheapest is $42 I saw, but since they range from $200+ I really don't trust that forty-two. Sooo... what do you guys use/prefer, if you're an artist who can help a drawing hobbyist out?
[ if you click it, it will get bigger. idk how to make attachments bigger......... ]
Oh, and if anyone wants to, I'd love for Applekit to be drawn... since I can't do calicos..... it's... yeah, I'm still learning things............ but that's just if anyone's bored and wants to....... no one has to.... Applekit can just be pink and blue........ #canon #realistic
But basically that's female Applekit and male Applekit. WooooOOO~! (the worst part was, when I tried to draw the colors, I realized I couldn't just copy and paste them since it's not like the pelt swaps like a copied picture can.............)
What do you guys think...? xD
REGRET, REGRET, REGRET, REGRET, REGRET, REGRET, REEEEEGREEEEEET I FEEL COOOMIIINGG i refuse to go back and draw the little inside ear thing i usually do. nope. just... not gonna... even try to fix a drawing like this....... *mumble mumble*
Also this is a long post, but uhm... I kinda wanna practice my drawing skills a bit. So this is also-kinda-maybe-sorta a character ask thread. Sooo, uhm I don't know how speedy replies would be. But if you wanna ask some of my characterssss things, just... ask... below........ i-i suppose....
*crawls back to my hole*

FEAR NOT FRIEND andactuallyicantrememberifyouknowthisornot BUT THIS is Kira speaking.
Anyways, I use a drawing tablet. My Dad got it for me. I think it was a Christmas gift. Anyways, I mean you COULD get used to doing a mouse, but I think a drawing tablet is kind... of better and easier to get used to. Also using a mouse a lot probably gives you carpal tunnel faster.
AND NOW I'M GOING TO SCREAM ART ADVICE AT YOU OKAY
IT'S FINE IF YOU THINK YOUR ART IS CRAP RIGHT NOW PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
I realize this is preached again and again but it's true gosh darn it and it will take YEARS of doing NOTHING but SCRIBBLING EVERYWHERE for you to think "Mmm this be good stuff" at your art maybe 5% of the time. BUT YES KEEP GOING EVEN IF YOU THINK YOUR ART IS THE WORST THING TO GRACE THIS INTERNET (it's really not do you realize how weird this place is. not vww but other places. tho you are among fellow weirdos here.)
ANYWAYS PRACTICE! TRY NEW THINGS! ASK ADVICE AND STUFF! And don't be afraid to learn from observation. I learned how to draw paws like a lifetime ago from watching other ppl on youtube do speedpaints and stuff.
BUT YES PRACTICE PRACTICE UNTIL YOUR HAND HATES YOU AND WANTS TO GO TO LIMB HEAVEN
ANyways, if you want bigger images, try using an image sharing site like imgur or photobucket. i personally prefer imgur. Then you can use links and stuff to get biiiiiig pictures. but if you want to smack it in your signature you gotta resize it. rules against it and stuff so the internet hates us all a little less (hopefully)
ALSO REFERNECES JESUS CHRIST ARE YOUR FRIEND I mean I weeeennnnt loooooong time w/o refs but seriously are they a god send. Use references of REAL CATS to figure out how the anatomy works and how proportions are. It'll help! HONESTLY I DO NOT LIE
Did I mention practice
okay im done shouting now

yes Kira I know it's you from stalkin-- COUGH COUGH...... coincidence....
So a tablet WOULD be better? Hmm... do you know how much your tablet was, or at least close to a price range? and thanks for making me afraid of carpal tunnel, didn't even know that was a thing until NOW THANK YOU KIRA NOW EVERY TIME I TOUCH MY MOUSE I HAVE A PANIC ATTACK SUCH FRIENDSHIP WOW
(COUGH)
I feel safer posting my art here among fellow weirdos, yes... and... I do need a lot more practice. I've actually never used cat references before... xD really awful, I know, I feel the pity now. Probably why I suck so much at making the bodies... but it's not a bad thing to do. I think I might try it some time once I find a chance ^-^ I'm really hoping to learn how to cat muzzles, instead of more 'flat drawing' faces and such. Like how some of the really awesome artists(COUGH, EVERYONE) do it! Although it's very difficult to learn..........
Does imgur post the images public...? Like, where anyone can see them..? I forgot if it does +_+ But thank you for all the advice, Natalia !! I'm glad someone replied to help me, otherwise I was going to awkwardly tear down this post(stomp on it repeatedly), and pretend I never dared to put anymore of my art online....
Uhm... but I am feeling a little confident about my drawings... I know they're REALLLY, REEAAAAAAAAAAAALLLYYY bad to the point they should just burn(let me get my matches here real quick, keep them on standby...) But I... want to share... and get criticism... I want a lot of criticism. Like, A LOT. I want to get better, even if drawing will probably only be a hobby of mine... so please, no one be afraid to point out all my mistakes and correct me on another! Be rude, YELL AT ME LIKE KIRA DOES(*sobbing in the corner*), JUST CRITIC THESE HORRIBLE THINGS!!
....like this one. I did Applekit again. I wanted an expression gif. It's not done yet, I'm just tired from working on this project. I'll do more tomorrow, I think... if I have a chance. CRITIC? Uhm... do you like it......? the gif isn't too big for VWW standards, is it? It's the smallest the dang site will make it.......!
That moment you realize you forgot the eyebrows on 3/4 of the drawings below......

I'm bias and love cintiques but since those are frightfully expensive tablet is my next suggestion. I'm also bias because I always suggest wacom intuos tablets but if you are looking for something more inexpensive bamboos are usually more inexpensive in comparison. I used to use a bamboo tablet they're fairly small but they do the job.
I used to draw with a mouse but I highly suggest a tablet because you can adjust pressure sensitivity which makes lineart very smooth and makes it incredibly easier to draw. Another thing I'd suggest is paint tool sai. I've been using it for about 4 years now and it's actually gotten me through projects I've had to do for my animation program.
It's also natural to have an on and off hate-love relationship with your art. I'm in a program where it's all I do and I find myself hating and loving my work all the time!

Bamboos? Hmm, I'll have to look into those then. And I did hear about the use of the stylus on drawing tablets, like how it notices the stylus hovering over the screen even! I thought that was pretty cool, and that it notes the pressure.
Does Paint Tool Sai cost money? I'll look into it more tomorrow. Would it be better than Fire Alpaca? And for a beginner like me, does it matter which one I start with, in terms of practicing my computer drawings/what program works better for newbies?
Uuugh... I suppose since it's natural for artists to hate their art, I shouldn't feel so horrible for my own artwork as I do... usually what happens is I draw something I think it really cool! I show it to everyone near me, thinking it's absolutely AMAZING, only to look back a few hours later and cringe in horror. "I-I showed THIS TO PEOPLE I DON'T EVER SHOW MY ART TO?!?! WHYYYY?!?!?!" It's kinda sad to love your picture one moment, and dislike it the next.... T-T

I think there's also a program called.. Manga studio...(?) I believe that's the name something like that. My friends use it. Sai does cost but you can get a free trial but when it ends you can just screenshot your pictures but that can be a bit of a hassle that you can't save when the trial ends so if not manga studio ... clip studio whatever it's called from what I've been told is fairly good. I've never used fire alpaca but I haven't heard of it being bad from what I remember when my friend used it way back when.
I'd give it a try. Also nah I mean.. A program can definitely influence your drawings in a way if it is the difference between say using paint and then sai because sai has for example a smoothing option and a stabilizer. But otherwise when you're just getting started I think anything you can really get your hands on is good. It really won't have that much of an affect on your drawing at all I wouldn't worry over it too much.
Oh man don't feel bad. I go to a school where I'm in the presence of people who create pieces of art that looks so dang good I can't believe they actually made it and they feel the same thing. I've had these people, my friends, tell me their art is bad and they'll like it one second and hate it the next. I do the same thing as well. Every person who does art experiences this and it's a little sad but it's what you go through when creating works we always compare ourselves and judge ourselves harshly but if you keep doing what you love even through those feelings that's what really matters in the end.
