The wind was frightening. Bitter and cold. The air was foggy with the kitten's breath, frost clinging to the tortoiseshell fur and ice-blue eyes narrowed against the wind. And surprise-surprise, the little kitten was actually outside the barn in this horrible snowstorm. A little game of independent hide-and-seek had gone terribly wrong when the snow began to fall, and yet of course the kitten was too stubborn to give up. Only when the pads of her paws almost froze to the snow did she finally concede, and stumble back to the barn entrance-- which wasn't even that far to begin with. But a good minute pushing through the snow made the short distance awfully long.
And it was freezing. Tumbling into the barn, Applekit gave a whimpering cry as finally the wind could no longer touch her. She shook her fur wildly, trying her best to shake off the weakness of frost and ice. 'I-I can handle a little cold... I'm ICEClan now!' she told herself, although the numbness in her body certainly was saying the opposite. It wasn't like IceClanners were immune to every bit of frostbite in the world... right? And it wasn't like she was even born an IceClanner... so....
"Waaaaaah~! It's so cold out!" the little tortoiseshell meowed loudly, flicking each of her paws, and then bounding deeper into the barn. Coming to a slower walk through the crowd of huddling IceClan members, Applekit's icy blue eyes searched for a non-sleeping figure. And when she spotted a stranger cat-- who actually may or may not be asleep at the moment, but not that it mattered anymore to her despite the exact previous thought --Applekit had made up her mind. She approached Ivypaw, who appeared to be an apprentice by her much bigger size. And Applekit moved to bop a cold paw on her nose. "Hey! Can you play a game with me? I'm f-freezing!" The stutter wasn't intentional, but it certainly proved her point. 'Play a game with me so I can get warmer! And... maybe we can become friends! No one else is really awake or interesting! C'mon, please?'

[[ Sorry I'm late! School started and I got sick right after for like a week, yikes ]]It was too cold for Ivy to linger in the rafters of the ceiling as she usually liked to. As much as she loved looking down on others literally as much as she did metaphorically, even her fluffy pelt couldn't well withstand the draft that had been blowing in through the cracked and broken windows. She'd heard once that heat was supposed to rise, but it was hard to believe when the only slightly-warm places she could find were among her other clanmates.
Yet despite the fact that it was the perfect oppurtunity to mess with her clanmates as cause chaos as she usually liked to, she instead lingered off to the side of the others. She didn't feel in the mood- the somewhat hurt expression on Rivershade's face the other day still lingered in her mind. She had complimented the warrior to make up for it, and thanked her no less. There was no reason it should have bothered her at all, and yet it did. She frowned slightly and rested her head on her paws before staring off into space blankly.
She would have dozed off, had it not been for her detecting the sound of pawsteps heading in her direction. For a moment, Ivypaw assumed that whoever it was would get the hint and pass her by, but they continued to move closer. She glanced in the direction of the cat just in time to witnesss them place their paw- their very, very cold paw directly on her nose. Surprisingly, she hardly had any reaction to it, other than a flick of her long furred tail and an eyebrow she raised quizzically.
So the kit wanted her to play with him. How cute. A request that Ivy certainly hadn't expected, but an excuse to do something was better than doing nothing but mope. She smirked slightly at the young kit and sat up, sweeping her tail about so that if the kit wished, she could attempt to pounce on it. "Alright. I will," she purred, eyes glimmering with amusement. "I can't say I played too many games with others at your age, though. Care to teach me one?" Maybe this would be fun.
