For Mudclaw ! Puppypaw lay on her side, and her ear was pressed softly against the ground, and she could hear her heartbeat through the soil and she wondered, did all creatures have hearts? Outside she could see the moths playing in the dark, swirling around like whirlwinds, and she thought they were quite a lot sweeter than butterflies, with their fluffy wings and their attraction to light. They were the littlest of creatures, but, how extraordinarily clever they must be, to use the stars and the moon to navigate! Puppypaw purred and decided that she would learn how to do the same! She began collecting pebbles, and placed them in her star map, and she did not notice a presence nearby.

mudpaw laughed to himself as he jumped around the camp clearing. it was night, which meant most cats were sleeping, which meant he could do whatever he wanted and be alone. the young apprentice grinned at the sight of a moth, his green eyes glowing in the darkness. quickly, he crouched down, stalking towards the moth before pouncing into the air in attempts to catch it. he let out a small 'rar' noise as he did so, before landing on his flank in front of the apprentices den, seeing a cat looking at the moth he had just tried to catch, "err... hello?"

Puppypaw watched the apprentice in curiosity as he tried to take down the moth. She watched him stalk, and pounce, and she began to feel astonished by how sophisticated the feline body was. His eyes allowed him to see in the gloom of the night, and his tensile muscles launched him high into the air, and his paw pads cushioned his landing. That is, if he had landed on his feet. The snow was deep and attempting to walk on it would be ridiculous so she slid over to him on her belly, like an otter. "You're so silly!" she giggled, and attempted to lick the snow off her clan-mate's cheek as he lay on the ground. And she began to wonder, had she seen this cat before? She observed the brown splotches on his fur, and was reminded of something...
"Hello, Mudpaw!"

mudpaw grimaced when puppypaw crawled towards him and began licking his cheek. he let out a small grumble and shook his head, rolling away from her and onto his front, watching as the moth flew away, "don't lick me," he continued, flicking an ear, "it's gross and weird."
he raised a brow when the other cat said his name and so he turned his green eyes towards them to see who it was, "oh, it's you," he stated simply.

(I am so sorry for how late this is!)
"You're peculiar" she returned, angling her head. She thought licking was a common greeting among clan-mates, but then she supposed, not everyone enjoyed intimacy the way she did. When she met a stranger, she wanted to get to know him. She wanted to experience the breathtaking diversity of life in every way a cat could. And when you really know somebody, you can decide what you want to do with them. Just like her great grandpa Greypelt always said. Murder them, marry them, or.. get nasty with them.
"Would you like to fight me?" Puppypaw asked curiously.

-it's fine, i'm not exactly the earliest either, haha-
mudpaw grumbled when puppypaw called him 'peculiar'. how rude! just because he didn't want to conform to some sort of social construct didn't make him 'peculiar' at all, it meant that he could think for himself rather than becoming a mind-numbing clone of the 'perfect citizen'... but you know what they say, some people are shepherds and some people are sheep.
he sighed with irritation, looking through the corner of his green eye and giving one of the sassiest, 'i don't care' looks before suddenly smirking at the question he was asked. "of course i would," he grinned, crouching and unsheathing his claws, tongue out.

Well, she had figured out how to engage him. What an interesting character.
"Okay."
Puppypaw lowered her body defensively - he seemed like the type to make the first move, - keeping her paws soft and unarmed.
"Um.."
She glanced at his claws suspiciously, and then, with her ears flattened, tipped her head to meet Mudpaw's eyes..
"Are you planning to assault me with those? Because if you are, I have every right to defend myself!"

-what's with the tag-
mudpaw smirked, flattening his ears as he leaned backwards into his crouch and pounced forwards, attempting to land on puppypaw. he sheathed his claws in the process- puppypaw hadn't done anything to deserve actually being hurt by him. he let out a small 'gnah' noise.
