mudpaw giggled slightly as he began to respond, "nah it's tangible," he said, swishing his tail and he tried to stop laughing, putting on a deeper voice than he normally would, "it's standing right in front of you," he replied, shamelessly complimenting himself.
mudpaw shrugged, "maybe they just have the feathers because they look ugly without them... i can't even imagine a featherless bird," he said, eyes lighting up, "we could find one and strip it of its feathers, then you could have them and i could laugh at it in all its naked glory."

Brightpaw snorted. "You trying to say you're the meaning of life?" She joked in return, trying to stifle her giggling all the while. She continued snickering when Mudpaw suddenly put on some sort of drama voice.
She tilted her head. "Huh. Yeah, we could do that! We could catch a bird, take the feathers, and then eat it maybe?" She wrinkled up her nose. "I mean... We shouldn't catch a piece of prey just to not eat it. It's hard enough to find prey as is...." She muttered. She sighed. "Rabbits are basically invisible against the snow." She complained.

mudpaw grinned, flicking an ear playfully, "well it's the truth, isn't it?" he asked with a small chuckle lacing its way into his voice.
mudpaw smiled when brightpaw agreed to his idea, swishing his tail around quickly in a circular motion, "okay, where we gonna catch one? you had hunting lessons yet? i haven't 'cause puppypaw and berylpaw are slow learners, ha, losers," he snickered before tilting his head when brightpaw began to complain about the difficulty of finding a variety of prey. "well, at least it'll be new-leaf soon... then there'll be more, right? i mean, isn't that when all the prey is born?"

Brightpaw smiled with a huff. "Well, they do say honesty is the best policy."
She frowned. "Well... I think rabbits tends to stick around in the heart of Fireclan's territory... So I guess we just sort of... Poke around." She blinked. "Oh, yeah. Eveningwhisper taught me how to hunt already." She tilted her head. "Did Silverwhisker not just train you all one on one? That's weird. I think that's how other mentors do it." She commented, frowning a bit. She shrugged. "I don't know. All I've known is Leaf-bare..." Then she paused. A silence filled the den. "Uh... You remember when you said you liked fighting...? You wanna... Y'know... Do it? I just think it'd be good to practice with a real cat and all..."

-well the actual reason he's got no training is that the thread was slow but i guess he can just blame puppy and beryl-
mudpaw shook his head, slight jealousy apparent in his eyes when brightpaw said that she had had training, whereas he hadn't had any training at all other than a tour of the territory, which in all honesty was kind of boring considering he had already seen it thanks to his amazing kithood begging skills... thanks, eveningwhisper.
"she gave us all a your together but i think we're doing separate training... probably because she's scared i'll break one of the other two," he smirked, raising his chin and trying to tense his muscles a little to look stronger.
his ears pricked, "sure, i'd love to fight you," he grinned, "well, not in a mean way, but you get what i mean," he said quickly, lowering himself and waiting for brightpaw to make the first move, currently unsure of whether he should hvae his claws out or not, considering he was fighting a friend.

((lol yeah I know. But yeah just blame Pup-pup and Berly i guess
Brightpaw noticed the spark of envy in Mudpaw's eyes. She only swallowed subtly, as the only indicator she felt anything regarding that spark at all. Though... She kind of understood. Mudpaw was probably upset he hadn't been trained much, while she had been. Perfectly understandable for him to be a bit... Frustrated.
She huffed. "I think she should've just done that from the start." She shook her head gently. "Eh. I don't think you'd break anyone." 'You didn't break me.' Went unsaid. Despite the similarities she had seen between Mudpaw and her... Less than pleasant siblings... And she had seen the similarities. She wasn't blind.... She still treasured her friendship with the other apprentice all the same. The biggest difference was that he was kind to her.
Her ears perked up. "Yeah, I get what you mean." She thought about it for a moment. "Hold on, you want to do this outside? Where there's more room?" She asked. It made more sense to her.

-yeah, he's the sorta guy to place blame where unnecessary-
mudpaw nodded, "yeah, she should've... but i guess she thought it'd be easier to bring all three of us at the same time rather than having to go out three times... then again she's the one that decided to give herself three apprentices," he shrugged.
"i bet i could if i tried," he said, "i'd break your siblings any day," he stated simply.
mudpaw nodded, lifting himself so that he was standing straight again and began making his way outside of the 'den', looking around at the empty space as he got back into his previous position.
-just imagining how different the relationship between these two would have been had he met aloe and almond first-

((Do you realize how messed up Bright would be then? She'd be friendless. She'd have spent so much time feeling completely, and utterly alone.))
Brightpaw sighed. "But that doesn't make it okay, just because it's easier... If something is harder, you just got to put more effort into it, right?" She huffed. "I guess... Though, I'd suppose that there weren't enough mentors, but I don't really know."
She smiled gently. "... Yeah, maybe breaking them is okay." She agreed.
Then she followed Mudpaw out of the secret den and saw her friend get ready to move. Her eyes narrowed and she sprang forward, claws sheathed, but she did swipe at his face.

-aww, i legitimately feel bad for her, she's so sweet too-
mudpaw shrugged again, "probably," he said, looking around, "i bet most warriors are just too lazyh to train an apprentice, to be honest, i probably would be," he said, "actually, it probably depends on how big of a loser the apprentice is... anyway i'm rambling." he stopped.
the tabby smirked, "i can see the terrified looks on their faces... fluffy would be so mad and scared," he laughed.
the young apprentice stumbled a little to the side when his face was swiped at by his friend's paw, but he managed to keep himself standing on all fours, even if he was a little wobbly from the awkward stance. he quickly reacted with a swipe back for brightpaw's chest.

((And she's grown to learn how to shut herself off from others 8D
Brightpaw had actually spent some time on her own, trying to teach herself to fight, considering that Eveningwhisper had barely touched upon her battle training. The older, ginger warrior's focus had been primarily on hunting, which had admittedly irked the tabby apprentice a bit.
She wanted to know how to fight in order to defend herself and those she cared about.
She managed to backstep, and lean back so Mudpaw's paws only grazed her chest fur. Then she tackled towards Mudpaw's chest, leading with her shoulder.

-aw-
mudpaw made a shriek-ish noise when his chest was tackled by brightpaw's shoulder, falling and rolling over on the floor, his face now red with embarrassment. he couldn't help but curse to himself when he was knocked over, and had never wished for battle training more in his life.
in an attempt to try and recover and get brightpaw down as well, he began to flail his paws around hers, hoping that she'd lose balance. he was actually tempted to unsheathe his claws, but he managed to stop himself from doing so.

Brightpaw thought that shriek sounded a little high-pitched. She wouldn't tease him about it.... Maybe. Not now, at the very least. He tumbled over and over on the ground. He seemed embarrassed. She was about to ask him if he wanted to stop, when he started grabbing at her, trying to drag her down with him. She did go down at first, but she managed to roll with it and land on her paws. She stumbled a bit on the landing, but she managed it.
Given that Mudpaw was on the ground, she moved to pin him to the ground.

mudpaw let out a loud laugh when he got brightpaw down, the colour of his face now lightening again although it was still a little pink. however, after his apparent victory, brightpaw managed to roll onto her paws. he grumbled at this and attempted to get up himself, but he was quickly pinned down again. he sighed loudly with slight irritation, moving his paws upwards to try and drag the tabby down by her neck.

((TRAGIC
Brightpaw heard Mudpaw's cry of triumph at first, which then turned into grumbling when his plans didn't work out as well as he thought they would. She had her friend pinned now, but now he was dragging on her neck. She resisted at first, when an idea crossed her mind. She suddenly let him pull on her neck, actually smacking him in the face. With her face. Her face now hurt, but she could ignore it.

mudpaw hissed when brightpaw hit her face on his. it hurt. he could tell that it hurt her too, which made him feel a little better about being seemingly beaten in a fight. he began to try roll away from her in both directions, thrashing his body around.
-bye bye muse-
