[this thread is for root and Flower]
Fishing was something that Flower didn't really know how to do. He hadn't ever really lived near a water source large enough to hold fish so he had never learned, but now here he was living in Deathclan with a river running through it perfect for getting fish. So Flower made his way through the territory before he made it to the water.
Flower planted himself down next to the running water and looked down into the flowing river. He didn't actually know how to fish at all so he ended up just looking into it for a while before he saw a fish swim by lower than the others. He splashed his paw into the water, but the fish simply swam away and every other fish nearby left as well. Flower tilted his head and groaned as he shook the patter off of his paw and waited again.
He didn't realize that he probably should have kept his paw in the water so as to not make the splash and scare off all the fish in the area, but he kept trying. After about three times of failing to catch anything Flower sat back to try and reevaluate his technique.
As he sat there he scented another cat in the area. He turned to look and see where the feline was, but couldn't see anybody in the immediate area. "Hello?" He called as he kept searched for a sign of the other cat.

Root was watching the stranger for a while, remembering her first times fishing too -- it was terrible, but she was getting better now that she got some help. She didn't realize how long she stayed watching him, but her body fell into flight mode once the stranger called out a hello and began to look for her.
The silver tabby was frozen in place though. She just simply couldn't move as much as how she wanted to make a run for it. Once the stranger came into a few inches from her, she finally moved, backing up.
"I didn't mean to bother you. . ."

Flower had been passing by a bush when another cat suddenly moved and made him jump back as well. He had overlooked a cat that was rather close to him and then her suddenly moving made him feel like he had to be ready for her to attack him. She didn't. When he didn't see a cat lunging out of the bushes to attack him he tilted his head and got closer to the bush again. What he was was a cat that seemed rather scared.
"Oh, it's no bother darling. I wasn't having much luck with what I was doing anyways." He stated and shrugged. He made sure to give her some room considering the waves of nervousness he could feel radiating off of her. "Are you alright?" He asked after a second, not really sure what to say around her. Flower wasn't really the best person for most emotions. He made sure to give her space though.

Root relaxed a bit, realizing that the stranger was more of a friendly Deathclanner just like her. "Yeah, I'm alright," she nodded with a slight smile. "I just didn't know if I was in your way or not, but I'm glad that I'm not!"
The tabby purred, glad that she was able to speak to him. "I don't know much about fishing, but someone taught me before, so I could give you some pointers if you'd like!"

As quickly as Flower noticed how scared this she-cat seemed it almost dissipated. He scrunched his face up in confusion as he watched her now. How did one simply just stop being scared that fast? And why? Was it because he hadn't attacked her? If she was scared of him attacking her then Deathclan probably wasn't the best place for her. Flower had heard that one of the clans had taken residency in a barn nearby. Perhaps that would be more her style? He didn't voice these thoughts.
When this new cat offered to teach him about fishing everything about him perked up. "Would you really? That would be the best!" He mowed excitedly and moved back over to the water, looking into the river without looking back at her. "Oh by the way my name's Flower." He called over his shoulder.

Root tilted her head when she saw the stranger's oddly funny face and wrinkled her nose, trying to imitate it, only to fail. She wondered until he too became more open. "Of course I would. Why wouldn't I? We're all Deathclan, aren't we?"
The tabby frowned. "I was told that maybe I wouldn't fit in, but our leader said that I would, so I'm choosing to say. If that's what you're thinking." She remembered her encounter with the tom and then that of her mentor. "My mentor said that you have to make the fish think you're not there. So not to cast a shadow and not to touch the water."
Flower. Root could easily remember that name. "I'm Root." And with that, the tabby walked over to the river, observing the water and fish.

Flower grinned when he noticed her trying to imitate his facial expression. He knew that he tended to get strange looks on his face often, but it was usually only when things confused him. He kept the look, albeit a bit toned down, when she stated that of course she would teach him. "I had heard that Deathclan was a lot less helpful than this. All of the cats I've met here so far have been really nice! I guess I've only actually met one cat... two cats now, but I was thinking that there would be more fights or something." He meowed with a shrug. He definitely wasn't going to be mad at the cats in Deathclan being nice, but he was hoping for at least one fight soon.
Her explanation for why she was staying was very rational as well. Flower nodded. "Ah no worries. I'm not here to demand a reason as to why you're here. If this is where you think you should be then this is where you should be." He purred. He strongly believed in personal freedom. And if she wanted to live in Deathcoan then who was he to judge? With that Flower was right back to studying the water intentionally.
Don't cast a shadow and don't touch the water. He could do the. Flower kept moving his paw around above the surface of the river until he found an angle the didn't cast a direct shadow into the water. He held his paw there, waiting for a fish to swim by. "Wonderful to meet you Root! You're a lifesaver. I have a feeling this might have taken a lot longer without you." He stated, referring to the fishing.
