Cherrykit had just recently made her own nest away from her adoptive mother, using the best moss and long grass she could find in her temporary nest. She would only be in there a few more moons, hopefully, but it was still cold out and she wasn't about to sleep in a cold nest, Cherrykit had higher standards than that.
She'd been sleeping most of the day, and had only just woken up to the sound of her stomach growling. Cherrykit went outside and into the camp, gotten herself a plump mouse, and eaten it, and was on her way back to her cozy nest when she bumped into another cat. Cherrykit reeled back, letting out a squeak of surprise. "H-Hey! Oh, uh.. Sorry.."

A dark furred tom was standing, looking at the other kits, crowding his mother. She wasn't even his real mother, but he was grateful she'd take him in regardless. Thunderkit's thoughts of his siblings swarming their mother was distracted by another kit bumping into him. He mewed in surprise, then cursed himself for mewing like a newborn kit. "Nah, it's okay." Thunderkit noticed she apologized so he didn't want to make her upset by yelling. "The name's Thunderkit. Who are you anyway?"

Cherrykit didn't recognize this kit, and she thought it would certainly be a good idea for her to try to make some friends. She smiled at the tom-kit, laughing off the fact that they'd just ran into each-other. "I'm Cherrykit!" The bobtail introduced herself, her golden eyes shining with excitement. "It's nice to meet you, Thunderkit."

Thunderkit smiled, "And you too." He flicked an ear as he looked around the den. The dark furred tom was glad to have met someone who appeared to be really nice, he didn't know what to expect. He sniffed the air, smelling mice. "Did you eat a mouse?" Thunderkit asked, surprised he could smell it with all the other kits and stuff in the nursery.

Cherrykit's eyes widened a little bit and she licked her maw, trying to see if there were any remnants of the mouse that she'd just eaten. "Yeah, I did!" She confirmed, looking quite impressed with the dark-furred tom. "Hey, that's pretty cool, you must have a really good sense of smell."

Thunderkit grinned, and puffed his chest out. "Yeah I guess I do! That'll help when I get to go hunting!" He couldn't wait to be a warrior. Standing tall and proud by his clanmates, able to defend them in battle. Very noble. Of course he was a dreamer... it would be a long while before he got to be out there and fighting or hunting.
"Have you thought of a warrior name you might want to ask for?"

Cherrykit frowned. If she was being honest, she'd never really thought of that before, it seemed so far away. "I don't want it to be boring, like Cherryfur.. Maybe Cherryfall? Or.. Cherrysweet, or Cherrydapple." She speculated, naming things from the top of her head. "What about you, what do you want?"

Thunderkit tilted his head in question, wondering if he had any good names for himself. "Not sure what all goes with Thunder. Thunderstorm sounds really cheesy or typical. Thundersnow? Thundercloud? A lot of mine are very weather related." He shook his head with a snort. "I sound like CloudClan's trying to tell us what the weather will be like." It was an odd thought, but somewhat entertaining which made him show an amused look.

Cherrykit thought about it, wanting to help her new friend think of something unique and cool. "Thunder.. flower? No, that doesn't sound very intimidating." She thought of the warrior names she knew, narrowing her gold eyes. "Oh, uh, what about Thunderblaze? It sounds pretty tough to me." Cherrykit suggested eagerly, a purr in her voice.

Thunderkit laughed at the thought of him being called Thunderflower. Quite amusing and most certainly not intimidating. At least he could laugh about it, having a good sense of humor and all. Though when she mentioned Thunderblaze it pricked both of his ears up. He rather enjoyed that name. Thunderblaze. "Thunderblaze sounds tough, huh?" Thunderkit twitched his whiskers, amused at the thought she thought of a tougher name for him.
He thought for a moment. She helped him come up with a name that sounded awesome and he wasn't so sure he could do the same thing. "How does Cherryblossom sound? Or Cherryflower?" His pelt burned, embarrassed by his lack of ability in being creative. "They sound kind of pretty, right?"

Cherrykit's eyes shone, and a smile crossed her face as she helped to satisfy Thunderkit's need for a cool warrior name. She simultaneously thanked Cloudclan that she was able to come up with something that didn't sound completely mouse-brained, and that he liked it. Listening to him try to think of names was somewhat cringey, the names he suggested were pretty, but rather plain. "Oh, hmm.." Cherrykit flicked an ear. "I think Cherryblossom is nice. Maybe something that isn't a plant, though..?" Cherrykit was being awfully picky, she hoped that karma wouldn't give her one of the names she'd rejected.

He shifted his stance but thought a little more. "Sorry, not so good at these things." Thunderkit thought for a moment and tried to figure out something else that might work for her. "How does Cherryheart sound? Or Cherrylight? Or what about Cherryfeather? Cherryspring?" The little tom didn't have any other idea of what to do but spitball different ideas and names. He wasn't too decisive, something he'd plan to work on.

Cherrykit frowned, beginning to feel overwhelmed with all the options she had for a name, and there was an equal chance that she would end up with any of them as her warrior name, it was lot for a kit to think about. "Y'know, maybe I'll just wait and let it be a surprise. It's not like it's something I can choose, after all."
Cherrykit sighed, calming herself down. "Why don't we do something else?" A distraction would be nice right now.

He mentally kicked himself for offering up so many names. The tom talked a lot and wasn't exactly helping this situation. He had yet to figure out how to keep his cool in situations. Being a kit, at least he had time to make errors. "Sure. My bad, didn't mean for all that," he said. These things would just take time for him. At least she didn't just walk away so he forced himself not to feel too guilty.

"It's fine!" Cherrykit brushed it off, offering a friendly smile. It wasn't something that either of them could change, so there was no use in worrying about it when there were much more fun things for the two of them to do. "How about we play a game? I've seen kits play games before, we could play Warriors." She suggested. "I'll be Cherrystar, so that we don't have to worry about my name. Uh, if that's alright." Naming herself as leader seemed a bit self-centered to Cherrykit.
