Arrowstar Crystalbird was quietly chortling amongst the branches high up in an acorn tree, waiting for a victim to come along. Perhaps this wasn't a particularly deputy-esque thing to do... But hey! She'd only recently got this position, so how was she supposed to know what was the 'proper behavior' anyways? Not that she really cared for what was proper and respectful.
She had picked this tree for the sole purpose of throwing acorns at unsuspecting heads. Of apprentices, warriors... Even Arrowstar if he strolled around. She was fairly sure this wasn't what her new leader had signed up for when he'd appointed her as his deputy... But oh well. He had to live with his decisions, even if he lived to regret it!
Then lo and behold, the leader she was thinking of popped up. She smirked. Then promptly started flinging acorns quickly and accurately, at the back of her head.

Arrowstar padded away from the camp to go check on the borders. Typical Arrowstar. His target was to check the FireClan border as well as the border shared with the rogue group DeathClan given his recent meeting of a DeathClan she-cat.
Just as he passed under the trees, there was a swarm of tiny objects raining down on his back and head. He hissed and looked toward the tree, spotting the newly appointed deputy in the trees. "Crystalbird! What in the name of CloudClan are you doing there?" he called with an annoyed look.

Crystalbird cackled in response. She looked like she was about to fall out of the tree from laughing too hard, almost seeming close to tears. She'd had to lay down on the branch, and cling on for balance.
"Y-Your f-face....!" She managed to get out, before breaking out into a brand new laughing fit. Honestly, with a face as grumpy as the one Arrowstar was wearing, Crystalbird had wonder why he expected to be exempt from her tricks.

Annoyance flashed clear on Arrowstar's face as he waited for her to stop laughing. "Ha ha. Very funny. Now, get down here. We have work to do," he snapped, moving past the tree to avoid any other attack she may have planned.
"You're coming with me to the border." He wasn't going to give her any option.

Crystalbird stuck her tongue out and blew a raspberry at Arrowstar. "You're no fun." She sighed, before descending down the tree, and landing on the ground on her feet. She quickly made tracks to catch up with her leader, walking next to him.
"Which border? There's a bunch. 'Fraid you'll have to be more specific."

Arrowstar gave her a look, eyes narrowed before padding towards FireClan. "FireClan. They cause a lot of trouble." He stopped talking to pad in silence before speaking again.
"You're very childish for a deputy. You're going to cause trouble. You need to learn how to act like a proper deputy. If something happens to me like it did to Spiderstar, you're going to become the next leader," I reminded her.

Crystalbird rolled her eyes. "Tch." She looked away as she walked next to Arrowstar. She didn't know much about Fireclan being new, but she wanted to make her own judgements on them. She wouldn't just take her leader's word for it. She wasn't a blind follower.
"A proper deputy? I didn't know that I had to fit into this perfect mould of your's." She huffed then sped up her pace. She didn't expect anything to happen to Arrowstar soon, but... She'd be fine if it came to that. He didn't know squat about her.

Arrowstar led the she-cat to the FireClan border, checking along it all to make sure there wasn't a stray smell over it. He'd go right over and speak to them if such things happened.
Turning back to her as she spoke, Arrowstar snorted. "You don't need to fit into any perfect mold. I mean you need to take your status more seriously," he answered. "Mark that side. We'll go to the other borders to make sure they're fine."

Crystalbird huffed. "I am taking it seriously. Just because I don't show you my serious side, doesn't mean it isn't there." She insisted. She walked past Arrowstar, and dragged her tail across the different markers that had served as the source of the smells that served as borders traditionally.
Her tail passively waved back and forth behind her. "You're too serious, really."

Arrowstar just gave a small sigh, nodding slightly as she justified herself. They moved on from the FireClan border, the leader leading his deputy to the RockClan border.
"Well, blame Spiderstar being absent for so long. He shed so five lives off my nine," he joked.

Crystalbird followed Arrowstar, as he lead the two other them to a new border. She thought Arrowstar's sense of humor sucked. Really, really badly. Like a particularly nasty pile of fox-dung.
"Yeah, that joke isn't funny. Bit too morbid for my tastes."

He shrugged. "It's practically true. I have so much stress on my shoulders, and I'm still fairly young. It was a miracle I even got nine lives in total, that's how much he's stressed me."
Arrowstar shook his head, pausing as they reached the border. "Have you had any complications adjusting to the clan?" he asked, referring to her past.

Crystalbird rolled her eyes in response. What she heard, sounded a lot like a guilt trip to get her to step up or something. Try and lift a weight off Arrowstar's shoulders. Tch. Like she didn't know how to do her duties.
She shrugged. "Eh. Not really." She might have a few trust issues, but she could work with her new clanmates when the situation called for it. Which tended to be in general, all the time.
