Almondfire twitched her tail in annoyance as another apprentice came into view and it had to be Swanpaw. Personally she hated the she-cat and now she had a chance to acuse her of almost ruining Almondfire's own apprentice's hunt.
The spotted tabby laughed at Swanpaw scornfully. "What do you think you are, a bird. Nice hunting skills, not!"
"Do you even know how to hunt properly. I've seen kits that pay more attention to their surroundings." She snapped at Swanpaw. Turning to Batpaw she meowed. "Good at least you caught something."

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes at Batpaw, turning with a lashing tail towards Almondfire. A snarl rose in her frost, though she quickly pushed it down. A slow smile grew on her face, and she shook her head side to side.
"Now now Almondfire, is that anyway to talk to..." she trailed off, looking towards Batpaw. "Why are you two out here together anyways?" It was odd, seeing Almondfire with another cat. Especially someone younger than her. It couldn't have been her apprentice, could it?

Whatever was happening, it seemed Almondfire and this new cat didn't get along too great. Maybe it was just because the white cat wasn't able to catch the rabbit, and Almondfire didn't like the idea of wasted food. He wasn't very sure, but he also didn't know why she was also being grumpy with him. Batpaw's ears flicked back, a crestfallen expression descending upon his face. "Oh but....Are you hurt? That's important!" He protested, following after Swanpaw somewhat sadly.
He almost forgot about it upon Almondfire's praise, and turned to her with a loud purr. "Lucky I'm such a good jumper," he laughed, thankful for his Iceclan blood. "Will you share it with me tonight? Am I allowed to eat it?? This is my first piece of prey after all!" Nothing would have made him happier than being able to share it with Almondfire too, since she was already helping him so much.
He turned large eyes onto Swanpaw again and a proud light entered his eyes. "I'm her apprentice! Isn't that awesome?! She's teaching me how to hunt."

Swanpaw shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah, I'm fine..." It was odd, hearing someone ask that. What did he care? She shook it off, keeping her attention on Almondfire. Swanpaw turned, staring at Batpaw blankly for a second before she burst out laughing. Her eyes watered, and she wiped a paw at them, keeping up with her fit of laughter. "You're Almondfire's-" She paused, wheezing. "You're her apprentice? Good luck kid, you're gonna need it!" She snickered, shaking her head lightly in amusement. Almondfire would crush his high spirits eventually, she didn't doubt that.

Almondfire narrowed her eyes.
"Can't tell me what to do little brat, I can talk to you however I want to." The spotted tabby she-cat spoke before rolling her eyes. 'She should learn to respect the older cats in her clan. She hasn't been an apprentice for much time.' Almondfire than looked at Batpaw in surprise. "Umm sure I guess, as long as you catch something for the other cats as well." The young warrior tried to ignore Swanpaw, what was important right now was training her apprentice.

"Mhmm." Swanpaw simply hummed in response, tail flicking casually. She took after the rabbits trail again, determined to catch it. She didn't exactly care that the two had seen her fail, but she wanted to prove she was capable too. She bounded out of sight.

Batpaw's tail straightened victoriously. "I definitely will! He assured Almondfire, not wanting to fail her. He was excited to share some prey with her as well and get to know his mentor a little better. Even more so because she had seemed to surprised by the offer and that made him happy.
The dilute calico glanced between Swanpaw and Almondfire, picking up the tension between them. It wasn't his business though so he simply shrugged and started burying his catch. He would return for it on the way home. "Ok, I'll see if I can find something else," he told Almondfire as Swanpaw stalked away, still a little confused. The tom tried to put it behind him though, scenting the air and then disappearing into the brush.

Almondfire sighed in relief when the younger she-cat left. The spotted tabby didn't feel like dealing with her right now since she was busy training. She didn't want her apprentice to witness an argument.
Almondfire watched Batpaw as he disappeared into a bush. The spotted tabby quietly followed, keeping her pawsteps light as she possibly could. 'He's doing good so far.' The she-cat noted to herself as she kept on watching.
(Sorry for the late response, hopefully it's not too late though)
