Smokykit was sleeping in a corner of the nursery. Well, at least he appeared to be. He'd found some mud and shoved into a random nest in the nursery. There was really a gratuitous amount of mud, since more or less everywhere was wet due to the snow melting slightly. 

He didn't particularly care that this wasn't a nice thing to do.

Briarkit narrowed her eyes as the tom placed mud into a nest. It wasn't her nest so the she-cat didn't really care anyways. "Your gonna have to clean that up, you know." She muttered before eyeing the mudddy nest. "Don't you know how to behave around here." 

(So Briar kinda dislikes adopted kits just like her mother Frostedsky so I'm not sure if this encounter will be positive or negative. Just decided to pop in here and get some posts with Briarkit)

((... *FACEDESK* I probably should've added that Smoky made sure no one was watching before he did it gosh darn it. Because he's a stealthy little jerk.

Smokykit lifted his head and tilted. "Oh. I'm sorry... I thought it would make a good joke. Perhaps in hindsight, it's not something that both sides can enjoy." He said, sounding completely sincere. Then he tilted his head to the other side. "So... If I clean it... Do I just scoop the mud out?"

Briarkit narrowed her eyes. "Jokes aren't good. They always hurt someone in the end." The she-kit muttered before rolling her eyes. "No you have to get rid of that entire nest and then make a new one. Scooping the mud out won't help at all. It will still be wet."

Smokykit thought about it for a moment. "I don't think I can do that...." He said quietly, his ears flattening. "The nests are made of stuff from outside camp. I can't leave camp until I'm an apprentice." He pointed out. 'Tch. Not my fault she can't take a joke. Need to be more careful next time.' He thought to himself, even as he completely hid his inner thoughts.

Briarkit narrowed her eyes.

"That 'stuff' is brought to camp by the apprentices. There's some by the medicine cat's den if your not too lazy to get some!" She snapped. Briarkit didn't know why she was angry. Maybe it was because she liked things to be clean

((... Tbh I kind of imagined they only brought the materials into camp to clean the nests and only as much as they'd need so they don't have random crap hanging around.))

Smokykit blinked. "Oh. Well I didn't know that, I haven't seen much of anything outside the nursery." He explained. 'Ugh, I actually have to go and get it... Clean it up this once, so they won't suspect me in the future.' "The medicine cat's den is the one that has a strong aroma coming from it, right?"

Briarkit stared at him.

"You haven't? Most kits go out a few days after they open their eyes." She muttered before peeking out of the nursery. The maine coon nodded to him. "Right."

Smokykit shrugged. "I like the nursery." He actually did. The camp had more cats that could easily accidentally brush him. He'd rather stay in the nursery. That was actually one thing he wasn't lying about. He nodded. "Okay. Should I go do that now?" He asked.

"I don't, it's too noisy." Briarkit grumbled scanning the nursery with her eyes. She then narrowed her eyes at him again. "If you don't want to be discovered by a queen, do it right now."

Smokykit got the feeling this kit was far too serious and straight-laced to be anything other than a pranking victim. Tch. Though, he'd have to bide his time. If he pranked her immediately after this, she'd suspect him. Hmph. He'd have to wait on it. He simply nodded, and left the nursery. Not too long after, the kit was dragging heaps of nest material into the nursery. He seemed to be having some problems, because it was quite the amount and he was still a rather young kit.

Briarkit watched as he dragged the nest materials into the nursery. She didn't offer to help because she ddn't do anything in the first place. THe maine coon kit just watched with satisfaction in her gaze.

Smokykit took a look at the nest he'd pranked and then at the nest materials. He tried to pay attention to the details, but he didn't really know what he was doing. After much time, and tripping over his materials, getting his paws tangled up in them, and generally fumbling through the process... He came up with a functional nest. Well... Actually it was slightly misshapen but it worked. Still... It was very obvious that the maker of the nest had no idea what they were doing.

"... I don't think I made it correctly."

Briarkit rolled her eyes at the nest. "What is that." She exclaimed letting out a merrrow of laughter. The nest looked so weird and funny. "If your gonna become an apprentice you have to learn how to make nests you know."

((does... does briarkit know they don't really teach kits anything? they're just expected to be kits and play are actually taught things when they're apprentices

Smokykit flattened his ears. "I... I tried my best...?" He tried in a nervous tone. In actuality, he wanted to hit the she-kit. Why doesn't she try it and see how she does?! It's not like they teach kits anything worthwhile until they're way past big enough to be useful.
