Sparkpaw Firepaw padded outside the den, stretching her way out. She was bored and she knew a few friends. Well she met with Jaguarpaw and Swanpaw... Oh right! She forgot to meet with Sparkpaw! She breathed in the fresh and icy air into her body to refresh herself. "Sparkpaw! Where are you?" Firepaw called out. 'Maybe he might be eating breakfast or training...'(Whoop! Forgot to tag ya~ XD)

Sparkpaw's head perked up from his nest as he heard his name called, although his eyes were still half-lidded with sleep. "No Oceanstar I don't mind being made deputy at such a young age. It's an hon--oh," he pouted as he started to fully wake up and realize he had just been dreaming. Then he perked up when he realized exactly who had called him. "Firekit! Oh, heh, I guess it's Firepaw now isn't it?" he jumped out of his nest, pelt is messy from sleeping.

Firepaw looked at Sparkpaw. "Geez, you look messy!" she teased him, "And why were you muttering in your sleep or something?" Firepaw shook her pelt. "I called you because I was bored and wanted someone to play with... What should we do?" she asked tilting her head and her eyes shining.

"I look gorgeous!" he mewed, sticking his tongue out playfully. His yellow eyes lit up when Firepaw said she wanted to play. "Well, we never did get to finish our snowball fight! Ooh, or we could play warriors... although, that games better with more cats," he looked around, but there didn't seem to be many other apprentices in the den. Oops, maybe I slept in a little too late!

Firepaw laughed when Sparkpaw sticked out his tongue. "Ha! Yeah you do look beautiful with your 'messy' fur!" she teased. Well she was bored and thought of what to do. "Well, it's almost newleaf and I don't think snow will last long..." Firepaw said, "And you're right, we need more cats to play warriors." 'Dang! We have nothing to do!' "Hey then since were apprentices, we can go to clan territory and hunt, right?"

Sparkpaw puffed up, brandishing a playful smirk, "of course I do! I always look beautiful." His ears drooped when he realized that Firepaw was right about it being the end of leaf-bare. Even if there was still snow lying around camp it was probably all dirty and mushy and defiantly not good snow-ball material. His ears perked up when the she-cat mentioned hunting. "Hunting?! Right! We can do that now!" he purred happily. He hadn't had a real hunting lesson yet, but how hard could it be? Warriors did it all the time. He narrowed his eyes mischievously, "I bet you I can catch more prey than you can," he challenged Firepaw, lashing his tail in excitement.

Firepaw was up to the challenge. Hunting. "Ha! You think I not good at hunting, huh?" she stated strongly and confidently, "I bet you didn't even learn hunting yet!" She raised her head, searching for the scent. 'Mouse!' she thought, crouching into position. She put all her strength in her hindquarters. She sprang towards where the scent of mouse was. 'Aha! Gotcha!' she congratulated herself, with a killing bite to the mouse.

"Wah--now I never said that," Sparkpaw mewed in an "innocent tone, then smirked in a mischievous manner, "I just don't think you're as good at hunting as me." His yellow eyes gleamed, he always liked a challenge. He stuck his tongue out at her when she accused him of not yet learning how to hunt. He didn't want to argue, since she wasn't exactly wrong. It's okay, I have natural talent! But he still gaped a bit when Firepaw easily caught a mouse. "Good catch!" he praised, before realizing that he was supposed to be competing with her, "um! I mean! I can do better!"
He puffed up, then opened his mouth and desperately tried to search for prey scent. I think that theres a... shrew? Over... there...? he angled his ears towards a dry patch of grass, dropped into a messy hunters crouch, and began to drag himself to the patch of grass inch-by-inch.
Uggg, this is taking foreeeevvvveeeer, he thought, only having dragged himself maybe a tail-length or so closer to where the vole was. His heart beat sped up when he finally spotted the creature he was hunting. I was right! It was a shrew! And it's really there! he figured that since he could see his prey. Waggling his haunches, Sparkpaw took a flying leap towards his shrew, but miscalculated and overshot his jump. Panicking, the orange tom turned on his heels and chased after the shrew, which had bolted once it spotted Sparkpaw. "Not today!" Sparkpaw called, reaching out an unsheathed paw and clawing the shrew into the air. It landed, but by it's twitching Sparkpaw could tell that it was still alive. Before it could run away again the orange tom pounced on it and bit into it's spine, hard. Grinning ear-to-ear, Sparkpaw marched back to Firepaw, tattered shrew in his jaws. He may have not left the prey in edible condition, but he had still caught it none the less.

Firepaw smiled confidently. "Ha! Shrews and mice are easy to hunt." she said, her head up, "Try to catch a rabbit!" Firepaw scented the air, then smelled rabbit. She stalked up towards the rabbit, then started to chase it. She sprang and started to sprint with the wind. She caught it in her jaws and showed it to Sparkpaw. "Hmph! Now you try!"

Sparkpaw dropped the shrew, digging it a neat little hole and burying it lightly--just enough so that it was well covered, but leaving it so that he'd be able to find it later. He watched Firepaw closely as she caught her rabbit. When did she get so good at hunting? he thought jealously, trying to take in everything she was doing so he could try and mimic it when it was his turn to hunt.
He nodded approvingly at her catch, although he was already sniffing around for a scent. What does rabbit smell like again? he thought. He wandered a little ways away from Firepaw, tail sticking straight up in the air in concentration. His ears pricked when he heard a strange "thumping" sound, and then all of the sudden a blur of fur dashed right past his muzzle. Rabbit! not giving him time self to think, Sparkpaw chased after the critter. The rabbit managed to stay a tail-length ahead, obviously more fit than Sparkpaw was since the young apprentice was already running out of breath. I don't think I've ever ran this much in my entire life! he thought, and he was probably right. There wasn't nearly as much room to run around inside camp. Sparkpaw began to panic when he spotted a hill up ahead, a visible rabbit hole jutting out of it. NONONONONO! he thought, not wanting Firepaw see him loose a catch. Sparkpaw was only a paw-length behind the rabbit now. Whining, Sparkpaw reached out with one of his paws, but missed the rabbit and ended up tumbling head-over-heals and landing face-first in the rabbit hole. "FOX-DUNG!" he screeched, watching the rabbit had been chasing disappear down the dark of the rabbit hole in front of him. Ashamed, Sparkpaw tried to wiggle out of the hole, only to find that he was stuck. "Wha--?" he mewed, wiggling more furiously and kicking his back legs out, "FIREPAW! FIREPAW HELP! I'M STUCK!"

Firepaw laughed when Sparkpaw fell down, failing to catch the rabbit. Her face turned serious when Sparkpaw yelled that he was stuck. Firepaw rushed to him, grabbed his neck with her jaws and Firepaw tried her best to get him out. She got Sparkpaw flying out of hole, both landing with a thud. Firepaw was on top of Sparkpaw, touching lips. Firepaw froze, surprised. "I-I'm s-sorry!" she stammered, "I-I d-didn't kn-now..."

Sparkpaw tried not to panic, trusting that his friend would find a way for him to get unstuck. Still, he was embarrassed that he managed to get himself into this situation in the first place. He squealed when Firepaw pulled him out of the rabbit hole, closing his eyes tight as he flew threw the air and landed roughly on the ground. Whaa-- his yellow eyes opened wide when he realized what happened and he went beat-red under his orange pelt, whimpering a bit. He jumped back as soon as he was able to, pelt fluffing up and tail sticking straight in the air. "I-I-I-I," he stuttered. He went silent for a second, thinking about what had happened, then his whiskers began to twitch. Out of nowhere Sparkpaw burst unto laugher, "I got stuck in a rabbit hole!" he mewed in between his snickering, brushing dirt of his muzzle. He knew it wasn't all that funny, but he couldn't help but almost fall over with laughter, "I'm sorry, about, well y'know," he mewed, still a bit embarrassed but he couldn't help from grinning.

Firepaw laughed a bit. "Yeah, it's okay..." she said smiling. "And what a loser! You don't know how to catch a rabbit? That is Fireclan's main prey!" Firepaw crouched down and looked at Sparkpaw. "Hunting a mouse and rabbit is different." she told him, "Mice smell you but rabbits hear you."

Sparkpaw stuck out his tongue, "hey, it's not my fault I haven't learned how to catch one yet! Besides, I almost had it!" he puffed out his cheeks indignantly, although he was less embarrassed about the bad catch than he thought he'd be. "Oceanstar hasn't gotten to hunting and battling yet," talking about both him and Cherrypaw, who was being trained alongside him, "we've only done a territory tour, although Oceanstar didn't really lead it, this cat named Brightpaw did," his ear twitched. He was a little suspicious of the she-cat. He knew that his "friend" Aloepaw had been attacked by a FireClan apprentice, and when he had mentioned the name Aloepaw to her she didn't seem to exactly like him. He couldn't help but find it suspicious.

Firepaw gasped. "Brightpaw! Are you kidding me?" she shouted, "She's fox dung!" She thought of Brightpaw pushing and clawing her. 'Ugh... It's okay, that was a long time ago' she thought, 'That was when I was a kit...'
