Berylpaw followed Silverwhisker as she stalked the prey and he made sure to be as silent as possible. He watched as she crouched down and began to get ready to lunge and kcatch the bird. Berylpaw cringed a bit as she killed it. He knew that it had to happen and that it would be doing it more times than not, but it still wasn't a very nice thing to watch. When she brought it back he listened to her instructions and nodded. Stay well hidden and make the kill quick. He could probably do that after a bit more practice. With seeing her make a kill he felt like it would probably be easier for him now.

Silverwhisker Silverwhisker yawned, "Any questions?" she mewed, her tail swaying, "Do you think you're ready to try a bit?" The tabby felt glad this apprentice seemed to listen well, better than some apprentices.

As Silverwhisker asked him if he wanted to try hunting he shrugged. He didn't really have any questions about it all. Everything was fairly straightforward so far. The only thing that worried him was the idea that he might fail to kill the animal on his first try and it would end up making some terribly screeching sound. "Do you want me to hunt the rabbit?" He asked, referring to the rabbit he had scented earlier. That seemed like the best idea probably.

Silverwhisker Silverwhisker smiled, "Go right ahead," she mewed. "Your instincts might kick it, too, this might be your first catch, correct?" The tabby sat down temporarily, but she knew she would probably eventually follow the apprentice.

Berylpaw nodded as it was indeed his first catch. He scenting the air and slowly stalked towards the rabbit. It took him a moment to pinpoint the rabbit, but when it came into his view he kept in mind everything that Silverwhisker had said. He positioned his paws, quicker than before, but still rather slowly, and then quietly stalked closer. When he was rather close to the rabbit Berylpaw lunged forward. He misjudge his jump and ended up undershooting. He shot forward as the rabbit tried to run away, just in time for him to swipe his claws and catch the rabbit. It made a screeching noise as his claws caught it. Berylpaw flinched and his ears flicked back to lay flat against his head, but not wanting to disappoint Silverwhisker though, he jumped forward and sunk his teeth into the rabbit's neck, effectively killing it.
Berylpaw sat back to look at his kill. It hadn't gone as well as her's, but he figured it was good enough for his first time. He hated the noise though, and his ears were still pressed back, but he figured if he got better he wouldn't have to hear the sound ever again.

Silverwhisker Silverwhisker followed quietly, and smiled as she watched everything the apprentice did. She was startled by the noise, but quickly calmed down as she noticed the dead rabbit. The tabby came over, and saw that the apprentice still seemed a little shocked by the noise, but didn't make a comment. "That was good! You caught it, and it looks fairly plump," she mewed with a dip of her head. "It seems that you're pretty good at hunting already," she mewed. "Would you like to try to catch something else? Or would you like to switch topics and try some battling?"

Berylpaw stared down at the rabbit he had just killed. There was a bubbling sense of pride inside of him that made him smile. He had never done something as useful as this and it felt good to actually do something for the clan. Perhaps that's when when she asked if he wanted to try fighting now he didn't immediately turn it down. He was a little nervous for fighting training, but after catching the rabbit he felt like he could probably do it. "Let's try some battling." He stated, hoping that it would go as well as the hunting and that he wouldn't get too badly injured.

Silverwhisker "Alright, so there are many ways of battling, such as scratching, kicking, biting.. and others." The tabby demonstrated a few scratching moves with her paws, before speaking again, "Now, try a few moves on me, any move you want, but keep your claws sheathed.

Berylpaw was instantly nervous about fighting once she showed him a few moves and said to try them on her. He really didn't want to hurt her at all, even with his claws sheathed. Beryl awkwardly swatted at her. He knew it was a weak attempt at the move she had showed him, but he was worried that he might do something wrong if he actually tried to hit her and everything would just go downhill from there.

Silverwhisker The half-blind warrior gave a soft smile, "Don't worry about hurting me, if that's the thing holding you back. As long as you don't scratch me, I think that's good."
