Hey guys!
Starting from this week we, the staff, would like to introduce two new accounts to the website. These accounts are PREDATORS, and CLOUDCLAN. Both are staff-run accounts to be used for interacting with you, the members, to create a more plot and event driven setting.
The PREDATORS account will act as the base account for any predator we want to introduce into the site. This can vary from the odd fox, to a group of stray dogs or a hawk swooping into camp. The basis of these accounts is to create a fair roleplay scenario with the predator in question being similarly RPed to create likely and fair outcomes in battles. The PREDATORS account may start a random thread in a camp or territory, open to any number of people, or it could randomly jump into another open thread already established to cause a bit of havoc.
The CLOUDCLAN account is an account that represents Cloudclan as a whole. Of course we still have our single accounts and if your cat dies you are still free to play as them in Cloudclan. This account will be used for plot-related messages, or perhaps a random visit to a lucky cat now and then.
One last thing that we are trying to implement, and that some of you may have already experienced is IN-CHARACTER REPERCUSSIONS. This is, for example, if your character murders someone, or perhaps breaks the warrior code, they can, and potentially will, be punished by the leader or active leading member of their clan. In this case losing your warrior name, exile, having to clean a few dens, and more are viable punishments. However no decisions such as these would be made without talking to YOU the member first. If a staff member feels your character is showing attitudes or actions that may potentially lead to exile or another punishment, you will first receive a PM warning you of the potential consequences. It will then be up to you as the RPer to decide whether your character wishes to continue these behaviors or change their ways, and accept the consequences either way. Once again this is to create a realistic and fun setting, and it is still in the trial phases.
We would love to hear your opinions on these two new additions and answer any questions you have. Stay tuned for new and exiting features still to be added to VWW!

Firepaw, I don't think that's what the staff meant. I'm pretty sure they are going to have a staff use only account where they can rp as different predators, that way it can spice things up in threads a little. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's for us to rp the predators, only to rp WITH them.

Sky is correct, thank you for that. The staff will be in charge of running the account, which will give you as a member the chance to interact with us more.
Now, in terms of a few new changes you may notice. It has been decided that since the areas of our territory (particularly in training tour threads) is so often uncertain, that we would add a few landmarks into each clan. You'll find within your clan's territory board that there are a few new locations to discover, with potentially more along the way!
You'll also see that we have a brand new category known as BORDERS. This category holds the border between each and every clan. From now on, we hope that any border patrols will be run here, so that cats from separate clans can meet whilst on their border patrol, or simply while they are chilling near the border. You are free to post in these categories, provided you post in the border of your clan. As always, if your character crosses a border they are free to be punished by anyone that catches them.

Then can you create a thread in the clan your friend is in? Like when a Fireclan cat and Iceclan cat secretly meet or something

If a Fireclan and Iceclan cat want to secretly meet, for example, they will do so in the new border categories provided. However, they run the risk of being discovered. If they are discovered, they may be punished by the leaders of their clan.

I have a question;
Where would characters go to meet cats of a Clan they don't border? Example being FireClan/IceClan, TreeClan/RockClan... since they don't share borders. And yet if the cats wanted to still meet, what would be the realistic action? Could they make a long loop into unclaimed territory to their friend's border, or would some carry their own decision of crossing enemy territory just for a meet-up?
And if a character is holding meetings at the border to un-Clan territory, would this decrease the likelyhood of being discovered, as there would only be the one side having the paranoia of turning around to their Clan leader/Clanmate standing there?

We want to limit the interactions between clans who aren't connected as much as possible, since it is unrealistic that they could circle through loner territory or another clan without their presence being noted as missing, since the trip would take quite a long time. However if you do feel the desire to meet with someone in a clan you aren't bordering, you can do so either in loner territory or by trecking through another clan to get there. Both obviously have their separate dangers, and you will likely be more at risk of being discovered.
For your second question, yes that is correct. However, while you will be less likely to be discovered by someone within your own clan, it is possible that you could instead be discovered or attacked by a loner or rogue, which is also something to be wary of.

How do they get punished? Do you get a warning or do you have to roleplay the punishment?

Alright, that makes sense. Thank you for a quick response!

How do they get punished? Do you get a warning or do you have to roleplay the punishment? You would probably roleplay the punishments, as warnings are for breaking the site rules, not clan rules.

I don't like this idea. I think it would be much more fun if those kind of things (spirit messages, predator attacks, etc) were carried out by members, rather than being exclusive to the staff.

I understand Dolphinsong, and your words have been taken into consideration. However, since the beginning of the site we have allowed Cloudclan character accounts to be created and used, and very rarely do they remain active, because of the limitations they are placed under. Staff has decided that for large plot-related messages, it is going to be easier and more reliable to come from a staff-run account. Character Cloudclan accounts are still more than welcome, as I stated, and can most certainly interact with other cats and pass on miniature plots if they gain clearance from staff, we are not restricting that any more than it already is.
In terms of the Predator account, your characters are still more than welcome to run into a threat on your own. Just because the account doesn't attack you with a fox doesn't mean YOU can't decide to be attacked with a fox in your own thread. The purpose of the Predator account is for more plot-driven or serious battles, in which we do not want an automatic victory or one-sided battle, but would rather see both sides equally roleplayed. I hope this helps clear up any issues or questions you might have. These new features are still in early-development stages and we appreciate any feedback.
