Icekit creeped towards the entrance of the nursery with shaky legs. He was going to do it! He was going to go outside! His tail quivered, and ended up chickening out before he even reached the entrance. Maybe I can be an apprentice without leaving the nursery, he sighed, sitting down and fiddling the tip of his tail. He would be having his ceremony any day now--how would he be able to train if he couldn't even get himself to leave the nursery? He looked to the side, silver eyes widening when he spotted a familiar face. "Raccoonkit ?" he mewed, remembering her from the other day. He got up and approached her shyly.

Raccoonkit was resting close to the entrance of the nursery debating whether she wanted to leave or not. Being alone wasn't a preference for her. As she mulled over her thoughts she started grooming herself.
"Icekit!" the brown tabby exclaimed as she saw the kit from the other day. "What brings you so close to the nursery's entrance?" She observed him. He was bigger than her; almost ready to be apprenticed soon. In a way she was jealous of him yet she was glad she didn't have to grow up soon.

He smiled weakly and angled his ears towards the nursery's entrance. "I-I was gonna go o-outside, b-but," he hesitated, the image of a fearsome eagle swooping down and carrying him away plaguing his brain once more, "I-I-I w-wasn't sure how s-safe i-it would b-be to go out a-a-alone..." he flushed a bit, embarassed at basically admitting that he had never left the nursery before. He blinked shyly at the tabby, 'w-w-would you l-l-l-like to come w-with me?" It'll be safer in pairs.

"I'll come with you," Raccoonkit announced. Before she stood she stretched her limbs. She sauntered over to Icekit and stared into his icy blue eyes, "I'll protect you." Her fluffy tail flicked his ear; her amber eyes gleamed with mischief. With that said, she puffed out her chest and poked her outside the entrance to the nursery.
"All clear, Icekit." Her brown tail was straight as she walked out into the clearing.

The pale tabby-pointed tom smiled thankfully at the she-kit when she agreed, a little excited at the prospect of leaving the nursery; although a part of his mind was overwhelmed at how dangerous it would be. Still, he had a friend with him, and friends always made things safer, right? "I-I-I'll try m-my b-b-best to p-protect you t-too," he mewed, not knowing how well he'd be at protecting someone. He wasn't very brave, or very strong.
Icekit watched the tabby carefully as she left the nursery, surprised and a bit jellies that she could do so with such ease. Cautiously he followed after her, setting each foot down lightly, as if he were walking on thin ice. The fur on the back of his neck pricked a bit, and he kept glancing up towards the sky while sticking close to Raccoonkit.

Raccoonkit sauntered into the camp with Icekit behind her. She was aware of him being close and stretched to her full height. She was hoping it made him relax if she appeared confident. For a moment she wondered if this as something leaders or deputies had to do, even medicine cats. Bravery was something she wanted to embody.
Brown ear tufts swayed in the wind as she sniffed around. Warriors were sharing tongues or eating. It was about sunhigh. Her ears swiveled to catch the new sounds. She looked back to Icekit, "I think we're safe," she purred to him.
"What do you want to do now we're out of the nursery?"
