CrystalbirdSnowwhisper was looking for alder bark, which of coarse grew on trees. She foound a tree easily, but then noticed another cat on the other side of the border. She recognized the scent, but didn't shout out to her cousin. She didn't know Crystalbird all that well, but she knew they were from differant clans, so in her logic that made more evedence to foe than friennd. She didn't make any move to hide herself, but was careful enough not to make any noise.

Crystalbird wondered why her paws kept taking her to the Stone Forest, that mesh of territory between Treeclan and Iceclan. It was curious, someone who had a stronger faith in the mystical might say she felt a spiritual connection.
Though, she didn't actually buy into the Cloudclan religion.
She'd believe it if she saw some actual proof that there was credit to Cloudclan existing. Which, she doubted. It was a faith, after all... From what she'd seen. Cats didn't exist in any form that mattered after death.
Regardless... Now she was staring across the border at a she-cat with a snowy pelt scraping bark off a tree. She stood tall and had a vaguely curious expression on her face, a fictional eyebrow raised, one of her ears folded downwards.

Snowwhisper smiled softly when it appeared the deputy wasn't going to jump on her. "Hello Crystalbird," she said, ducking her head politely. She had a few other herbs to get to, but she placed the bark she had gathered carefully on a rock and turned her full attention to the other cat.
She found other cats rather weird. Why in the world would you just sit and stare at a cat you didn't know. She had been raised differently, but she also knew better than to bring it up. That would be odd and rude too in her opinion. She had a lot of weird ettiquite ideals that she rarely shared.

Crystalbird tilted her head. "Well, it seems you know who I am. Afraid I haven't got the faintest idea of who you are. I'd guess a medicine cat, judging by your interest in that tree bark there." She tilted her head to the other side. "I imagine you're the apprentice, since I've already heard of a cat named Frostbreeze being Iceclan's medicine cat." She shrugged. "Afraid I can't deduce your name. You'll just have to tell me."
She tended to talk a lot when she got started.

Snowwhisper nodded, going over all the facts in her mind. "Same deduction as Mistykit gave me." she said under her breath, not loud enough for the other cat to here. "Snowwhisper." she responded with a shrug. "I'm Snowwhisper," unlike Crystalbird apparently, she didn't talk that much when a conversation started, she talked more later on.

Crystalbird could actually read lips, so it didn't matter that she couldn't actually hear Snowwhisper. Though, she was a bit out of practice... So, she only caught something about a kit. Huh. Well, the rest of it probably wasn't important. She wasn't here to fish for information.
She didn't actually have a real reason for being here at all.
"Crystalbird." She replied in turn, having gotten the medicine cat apprentice of Iceclan's name. It was a fitting name, considering the name of her clan. "I'd ask what you were doing here, but since I saw you... It's a redundant question that gets us nowhere. So, I suppose I'll go with a standard question of a different type. How's your day going?"

Snowwhisper laughed lughtly and nodded. "I suppose it is. My day is as good as can be hoped for," she responded. "So how had your day been?" she asked in turn, figuring Crystalbird was there on a patrol or something. Not really hunting, as the Iceclan border would probably have the least prey of all their territories.

Crystalbird shrugged with an easy smile. "Oh, my day's been nothing special. Nothing worthy of note tends to happen around here... But I suppose that's the hope." After all, when things were boring and uninteresting... They were safe and stable. Not that she particularly loved being forced into having idle paws.

Snowwhisper didn't really agree to that philosiphy. She got the point, but she didn't agree. "You always want something going on or you'll become less alert when there is a bigger thread lurking." she stated her own opinion.

Crystalbird shrugged. "I thought the point wasn't to stir up trouble?" She asked with a fictional brow raised. "Of course, trouble always finds us. Though, it's not as if we're searching for the next fight just to fill the time."

Snowwhisper nodded. "We don't want trouble, but when we don't get trouble start to loose focus for when we really need it, so we always need something to focus it. Thus, you always want small issues."

Crystalbird faked a yawn. "Man, when I came to the border... I was not expecting to talk some real deep talk. It's way too early in the morning for discussion this sophisticated." She complained.

Snowwhisper nodded. "It really is. I was hoping just to get freash air." she shrugged. "So, what brought you to the border?"

Crystalbird shrugged. "No reason." She offered no other elaboration for her incredibly vague explanation for her presence.

Snowwhisper nodded. It was technically the same for her, plus an excuse. "Were you born in Treeclan then? I know that may be a bit personal, so you don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm just curious," she said hurriedly.
