Cinderflame
Was Freezefeather doing anything productive? Heck, no. He was taking this time to chill. He'd do something productive later. He'd get to pulling his own weight later, so as long as it got done at some point... What was the difference?
Which was why he found a nice, quiet corner to curl up in and convincingly pretend to sleep. The one thing he didn't expect was the strange feeling that something menacing was standing over him. He lazily opened an eye, casting half of his icy gaze upwards to see the face of his deputy.
Then he closed his eye again and went back to pretending to sleep.

Cinderflame's eyes were narrowed.
Well they were almost always narrowed. The deputy was nothing but annoyed and grumpy most of the time, she let her more soft side show around kits but not warriors. The warriors needed to know that she was fierce and wasn't afraid of anything, even if she had some fears.
She glared at the tom who was curled up and sleeping. A growl rumbled in her throat. IceClan didn't need lazy cats! "Wake up!" The deputy snapped, twitching her white tipped tail. "You got work to do!"

Freezefeather didn't lift his head or give any indication he heard, but yet... He spoke. "I was never asleep." He said in a perfectly serene, awake voice. "I'll work later. It'll get done. Just not now."
This cat seriously needed to loosen up a bit. Usually, cats waited a little before getting so high-strung around him, rather than taking one look at him and deciding he was a terrible cat who needed to get his butt in gear.
Azalea was never this bad, even before she liked him, really.

Cinderflame's tail twitched in annoyance.
"Wouldn't you rather get it done right now then do it later so you can rest later." She snapped before narrowing her eyes. The deputy didn't really like this cat's attitude. She couldn't tolerate laziness. "Laying down and resting is never gonna help your clanmates! Go hunting! Do something useful!"

Freezefeather yawned.
"Nah." He replied simply. He rolled onto his back, showing no interest whatsoever in Cinderflame or her growing temper. "I'll help them later." He figured it wouldn't be... Wise to inform her that really... The only cat he was interested in helping was his mate. Hunting for Iceclan was only a formality.

"Get up you lazy excuse for a cat." She snapped, twitching her tail. "The past leader should have kicked you out of this clan already. IceClan doesn't need cats like you."

Freezefeather shrugged without lifting himself from the ground. He wasn't bothered by her words at all. Then a thought crossed his mind. Ugh. If he got kicked out, Azaleapetal would be upset. He groaned and slowly forced himself into a sitting position. He still didn't seem all that impressed or interested in Cinderflame's existence. "Huh. I would've thought the deputy would be above petty insults."

Cinderflame narrowed her eyes. 'Stay calm Cinderflame, don't attack, just act normal.' The black she-cat told herself with taking a deep breath. "Look if you don't pull your weight around you'll eventually be kicked out of the clan. Do you want that to happen." The deputy's tail twitched. "Three words. I. Don't Care. Would you rather me raking your muzzle instead."

Freezefeather's expression didn't change, aside from the slightest narrowing of the eyes. "You assume I don't pull my own weight." He said flatly. "You make too many assumptions." He didn't sit around all day. He did share of hunting, patrols. He just wasn't doing it right now. He rolled his eyes. "Right. Because threats get us everywhere in life."

Cinderflame's tail twitched.
"You look like you've been asleep for a hundred moons." The deputy retorted, rolling her eyes. "Fine go on patrol later but I'll expect more from you than any of the other warriors." Cinderflame growled. "I may even have to report to Fallenstar that some of our warriors have some 'issues'."

Freezefeather blinked lazily. "I always look like this." He stated bluntly. He shrugged in response. "Sure. I'll go patrol later." At least Cinderflame had given up on forcing him to do it immediately. "Yeah, yeah... Sure. Whatever." He didn't care as long as he wasn't kicked out of the clan, since he didn't want to mess with Azaleapetal's plans to stay in Iceclan.

Cinderflame narrowed her eyes. She didn't like the way this tom was behaving. "Hopefully." She growled before padding away. She didn't need to wast her time here. The black she-cat had better things to do.

Freezefeather waited until Cinderflame left. Then he yawned, rolling his eyes in the process. Ugh. He'd probably have to pretend he was working if he wasn't whenever she was around... He didn't tend to worry, but he didn't like the idea of her talking trash about him to the leader. He didn't want to be kicked out.
But for now.... He'd rest. He'd work later.
