Cloverstar had still not returned from whatever journey the leader had decided to take. Redfern had stepped into the deputy position, since she was already basically leading the clan herself. It made her proud to be able to take the same position her mate had once held in Rockclan, and she was determined to succeed.
The red tabby climbed to the top of the Stonefang, the jutting rock used to address the clan. "Let all those old enough to catch their own prey gathering beneath the Stonefang for a clan meeting!" She called, her voice high and excited. There were some important things to be done.

Froststrike had been relaxing in the Warrior's Den, when he heard the familiar call for a Clan meeting. He sighed loudly, he was enjoying the abnormal silence of the Clan. Since Cloverstar had been gone, Redfern had taken over. For her to call a Clan meeting, something crazy had to be happening. With a stretch, the white tom got up and headed into the clearing underneath the Stonefang.
He sat intently in the front, his green eyes glowing as he looked up at the red she-cat.

Foxtwist padded into camp after taking a nice walk to ease her mind, and heard the call of a Clan meeting. She instantly perked up, hoping that Redfern had some positive news to share. She looked over at Froststrike, and rolled her eyes. Lazy tom! she thought to herself, holding back a grumble of annoyance.
She sat away from Froststrike. Although the two usually got along, she had been to moody lately to put up with him. The ginger she-cat wrapped her tail around her paws, and looked up at Redfern with a relaxed smile.

i'm golden I'm out on the edge and I'm screaming my name Like a fool at the top of my lungs Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright But it's never enough Cause my echo, echo Is the only voice coming back Shadow, shadow Is the only friend that I have |

Raggedwolf yawned as he approached the meeting, bushy tail flicking with curiosity. There hadn't been a clan meeting for a very long time, Cloverstar hadn't really been a big fan of them. He was curious to see how Redfern was going to change things. The young warrior set himself beside Froststrike, giving the older warrior a brief nod.

Anemonemist heard the Clan meeting being called, and slowly, she approached the exit to the medicine den to peer out. So it was Redfern calling everyone together. The red she-cat had already been showing her leadership qualities, so Anemonemist found no reason to complain about her holding the gathering by her own accord, since Cloverstar wasn't around anymore. Plus, it certainly had to be important.
Anemonemist sat outside her den, close enough to hear whatever would be said, but staying as far away from her Clanmates as much as possible. She hoped no one would approach her. Err... maybe Clove wouldn't be so bad. Or Ripplepaw, if that apprentice was still around.... The healer waited, a bit impatiently, for Redfern to begin. It was uncomfortable being near a crowd. And being the only medicine cat, Anemonemist clearly stuck out.

It wasn't a large gathering and Redfern was disappointed, but she supposed it would have to do. Rockclan had always been small, but she wanted to change that. "First of all, we have some good news." She lowered her head, searching the crowd. When she saw Icekit by the nursery she beckoned him forward.
"Icepaw, you have reached your sixth moon and are ready to become an apprentice of Rockclan. Your mentor will be Foxtwist." She looked over at the warrior who had recently returned and nodded. "Foxtwist you are a warrior of cunning and strength, I hope you will pass on all you know to Icepaw."
Next she searched the crowd again for Kestrelpaw, then called him forward with a flick of her tail. "Kestrelpaw, your mentor is no longer able to teach you, and you are in need of a new one. Froststrike, you are brave and loyal, I trust you will teach Kestrelpaw well."
With the ceremonies done she sat back, clearly having more to say after the celebration had ended.

meeting? meeting. come to think of it, hummingkit did recall that cloverstar had specified something along the lines of having to be old enough to catch their own prey. but that was just a formality, or so he had thought. a lump formed in his throat as he scanned his surroundings and saw only grown-ups, or warriors, to use their proper name. "gosh darn it," he said, hoping that cloverstar wouldn't notice him, or, at least if she did, be too harsh on him. he was only a child! he was too young to die! hmm, the brown tabby didn't seem to have noticed him just yet. maybe he should lay low, just until the grown-up meeting was over and he was safely back in the nursery. "well done, icepaw!" he cheered on impulse, not even knowing who foxtwist's new apprentice was. so much for lying low.

Icekit poked his head meekly out of the den, curious as to why a cat other than Cloverstar or Flamepath had called a clan meeting. His silver eyes shot wide open in surprise when the older she-cat beckoned him forward. For a second he was paralyzed, ready to bolt back into the den. Go on Icekit! he encourages himself, doubting that he could actually be in trouble. Still, thoughts of a public execution wormed its way into his head. Maybe they finally realized how useless I was... he thought woefully, keeping his eyes on his paws. Getting rid of a useless scaredy mouse like his would probably fall under the category of good news, or so he assumed.
Wait, what? he blinked up at Redfern in surprise when she began to give him his apprentice ceremony. His head spun. Am I six moons already? he thought. He didn't really want to be an apprentice. He liked the nursery, it was nice and warm and safe in there and he had only just begun to make some friends. Icekit--well, Icepaw now--gulped nervously, painfully aware of everyones eyes on him. He tried to find someone he recognized, only seeing Anemonemist. His ears drooped a bit, noticing that his mother wasn't there. Whose Foxtwist? he thought, praying that she was nice or at least not completely evil.
He wanted to bolt back to the nursery once Redfern moved on to Kestrelpaw, but he knew that he should stay in place until he met his mentor. The young tom blinked thankfully at Hummingkit's cheer, not knowing the kitten but feeling a little less nervous knowing that his apprenticeship was being well received.

Flickerkit had noticed from the nursery that Redfern hadn't used the traditional call, barring kits from the meeting. She stole this as her opportunity and like Hummingkit, scurried out to watch. The kit was nowhere near becoming a warrior herself, not that she was looking forward to it too much. Casting about, the calico she-cat spotted the clan's medicine cat Anemonemist. The big cat looked just a little bit scary, sitting apart from everyone else, but Flickerkit still stared at her in awe. After a moment of thought she bravely approached the medicine cat and sat beside her, a stubborn expression on her face as she listened. "Icepaw, Icepaw!"

Silentdust was late to the party this time. She strolled into the camp, a shrew in her jaws. The she-cat noticed the large group of cheering cats. It must be a meeting. But crap, she was late. The warrior slowly drifted towards the crowd, trying to find Hailspirit or someone she knew. But she couldn't find anyone and ended up sitting awkwardly by Foxtwist.
Silentdust glanced at the new apprentice, Icepaw, and smiled to herself. She didn't cheer out of shyness, but did so inside her head.

Kestrelpaw stared down at his paws. He knew this day would come, but he still didn't want it too. I don't want a new mentor... he thought grudgingly. He wanted his father back. He glared at Redfern, annoyed at how she was taking his fathers place. Of course, deep down he knew that someone had to manage the clan, and neither Cloverstar or Flamepath were around to do so. Still... he looked down at his paws, not wanting to create a scene. He wasn't the only one receiving a ceremony, and he didn't want to ruin this for that other apprentice--Icepaw. The poor thing looked nervous enough as it was.
Once Redfern had finished Kestrelpaw looked around, trying to spot his new mentor. That's probably him, the tortoiseshell thought, spotting the one white tom in the crowd and padding over. "Hey," the apprentice mewed sourly, refusing to look the warrior in the eyes.

Redfern raised her voice again, putting an end to the milling sound. She noticed Kestrelpaw hadn't seemed to thrilled, but it was hardly her concern at the present time. "Leafbare is coming to an end and prey will soon be returning, but I would like you all to be on your guard." She had already told Anemonemist that she wouldn't tell the clan about the message from Cloudclan, but she still wanted them to be on the look-out for danger.
"I want extra patrols along the Iceclan borer, though be careful of flooding. The waterfall always rises as the snow melts. Foxtwist, Raggedwolf and Icepaw, I would like you to take the first patrol." She looked down upon the clan, her clan, with pride. "We are small, but we are strong. Rockclan will continue to survive." Then she leaped down from the stone, signalling the end of the meeting.

Foxtwist was pleased to have a new apprentice, although it had been unexpected. The pretty ginger stood up, and dipped her head to Redfern in respect. She would serve her clan proudly.
She then weaved her way through the small crowd to find Icepaw. She found the nervous looking tom soon enough, and approached him. He looked a little scared, was she really that intimidating? Foxtwist remembered her ceremonies as exciting, not scary. She flashed him a pretty smile, then sat down in front of him.
"Hello, Icepaw. I'm Foxtwist," she introduced herself. "Relax, you're going to do fine."

Froststrike dipped his head to Redfern, then noticed an approaching tom. That must be him.. he thought. He immediately noticed the sour look on the cat's face, and felt annoyed. Froststrike was a generally understanding guy, but he would not tolerate disrespect. He would try to be sympathetic, but there was no total guarantee.
"Hello, Kestrelpaw," he said, narrowing his green eyes to examine the tom closer. He would give him a chance, after all, Froststrike had no idea what Kestrelpaw was going through. "Go get some rest, we'll talk more tomorrow."

"M'kay," the tortoiseshell tom answer Froststrike bluntly, then immediately took of in a sprint towards the apprentice's den. His chest felt tight, and he buried his muzzle deep into the moss of his nest. He kneaded the moss in his claws with one paw, sighed softly and decided to take a nap
