For Echopaw ! All cats and creatures, Fireclan and otherwise, are welcome to join. (:
Dolphinsong flexed her claws, rising from the soft depression in the soil created by her body. She rested just outside the nursery, from which the gently drifting sounds of purring kittens would, on most nights, lull her into a deep sleep. Now her feline eyes gazed upon the glowing horizon as the sun began its mysterious journey to the other side of the world, a side which harbored intricate creatures and magnificent landscapes never before conceived by the North American clan cats.
A side striped she-cat sailed gracefully to the apprentices' den, where her second trainee awaited! She was a young female, and her name was Echopaw. "Good evening, children!" buzzed Dolphinsong, as she pushed her finely featured face through the entrance of the burrow. "I am looking for a young girl named Echopaw."
Dolphinsong waited patiently for the littler cat to eat and groom herself, if she so desired. Then, she led Echopaw out onto the tall, grassy prairie lands, where the nighttime moths were beginning to stir. The sun went down, and the stars came up, their beams of light shining down upon the Earth in spectacular fashion. The world now was umbrous, its starlight shadows dancing like gypsies!
"When you are ready, I shall take you to see our borders!" purred Dolphinsong excitedly, her frosty breath spiraling up into the silent air like smoke. She surged, like a tsunami, into the very heart of her grassland territory.

(I hope you don't mind my joining.) Shiningflame was walking through the territory, her mind wandering through many random subjects, none of them linked in anyway, but she slowed as she heard another few cats in the area. Her gaze rose as her ears perked up, and she was slightly surprised to see two cats, even if she had heard them there. One of them she recognized as the young Echopaw, and the other was at the ceremony. It took a moment of thought before she decided it was a warrior named Dolphin something or other, and that Echopaw was the other cats apprentice. She wasn't sure if an intrusion would be welcom, so she intended to go on her way, but a mouse caught her scent as she did so. She turned in the direction of the mouse. It was closer to the two other cats than she was, but she hunted it down non the less. As she got into a crouch it started moving, breaking into a run as if no doubt went it its own little family. Muttering something unrecognizable under her breath, she decided not to give chase. She wasn't out hunting, she was on a walk, and the mouse was running of its own accord and hadn't squeaked to alert the other prey she was there.

{ so so sorry this is late, been unable to get to a Wi-Fi connection >_< }
Echopaw had been awake, just finished up a shrew she had picked off the fresh-kill pile and listening to the soft chatter of her fellow apprentices. The white she-cat kept debating whether or not she should approach some of her denmates and try to make some new friends. She liked to socialize, and the thought of a large friend group made her smile and giddy on the inside. Although, actually going through with it... made her not so excited. Echopaw didn't want another situation like Ivykit had created, with some cat angry with her for some odd reason. And then when she thought of Falconpaw and Mothpaw, Echopaw realized that she wasn't nearly rude enough to try and wiggle her way into someone else's friendship just for her own happiness.
She didn't even notice someone looking into the apprentice's den until a slightly familiar voice spoke up, and even said her name. Carefully, Echopaw raised in her in confusion, only to realize it was her mentor. "Oh! Dolphinsong!" she meowed in surprise, standing up at once and nearly stumbling over the shrew carcass on her way to leave. That was when Echopaw actually realized she still had her dinner to clean up, so guiltily, she turned back to Dolphinsong. "I'll-- be ready in a minute." she sheepishly squeaked, grabbing the shrew and hurrying off to bury it out of the den.
When that was done, the faintly silver-striped apprentice raced over to her mentor's side, murmuring an apology and following Dolphinsong out of camp. It was certainly colder out here than during the day, but Echopaw didn't mind. She liked looking up at Silverpelt in the sky. It was... oddly comforting. At Dolphinsong's words, she gave a deep nod of understanding. "I'm ready now."
Movement nearby made Echopaw gasp. 'What was that?!' Dark blue eyes darted around to find the source, only to just make-out the skittering form of a mouse raced out of sight, and a familiar she-cat was seen in the shadows of the starlit prairie. "Oh--!" Echopaw breathed, fog forming around her muzzle as she spoke. Instantly, without even thinking about it, Echopaw began to scamper over to the body of a FireClanner with a happy swing of her tail, and purring rather loudly. "Shiningflame! It's so good to see you!"
