As she waited for her Warrior Ceremony, Shiningpaw had grown bored. She had ran out of dens to clean, ran out of fur to groom, and finished her training sessions. The only thing Shiningpaw hadn't really accomplished, was making new friends. The only apprentice she had met was Firepaw, and they only met because they had been assessed together.
Shiningpaw had gone from her once social self, to a loner. It wasn't that she couldn't make friends, she had just been too busy lately. She sighed, and flopped into her nest. With her paws in the air, the golden she-cat laid on her back, with her head hanging over her nest. A deep sigh escaped her, and she closed her olive eyes for a moment. This was hopeless!

Batpaw padded into the den, a wad of leaves very carefully clamped in his jaws. It was hard to breath with their sweet scent filling his nose and the tom probably didn't sound too great, wheezing the way he was. Thankfully his nest wasn't far and the calico spat them out, drawing in a big gulp of breath. When he'd recovered he bent down and spread the leaves out. "There you go my friends, eat up," he murmured gently.
The apprentice turned, tail swishing against the moss as he glanced around the den. His eyes were wide and searching, as if looking for something. "They're not here. Twiddle, Phollip, where are you?!"

Shiningpaw quickly jumped up from her nest, looking more scared than she actually was. She landed on her feet, as cats usually did. This new apprentice had startled her, woke her from her almost-nap. She narrowed her olive eyes, and tilted her head. Was he talking to leaves? Surely not! What was that he was spouting, Phollip? What did that mean?
"Either you're kind of crazy, or I misheard you. Twiddle? Phollip? What does that mean? Who's not here?" she mewed questioningly, her head tilting to the other side now. "Er, I'm Shiningpaw."

Batpaw'ssearching was interrupted by a feminine voice. He spun around, pale calico pelt fluffed with distress. "My pets," he explained impatiently. The tip of his tail twisted with restlessness. "Another apprentice put bugs in my nest last night so I named them and got them food, but they're not here!" He'd thought they'd really enjoy a nice leaf salad for lunch too.
He pouted, sitting back down. It looked liked he'd annoyed Shiningpaw, which was another sad thing. "I'm Batpaw."

Shiningpaw narrowed her eyes, and tilted her head. Maybe he was a little off, but beggars can't be choosers. There was nothing else she could do, so the golden she-cat just laughed. At this point, she would probably try to befriend bugs, too.
"I see! Umm.. why did they put bugs in your nest?" she asked, tilting her head to the other side. She gave the tom a soft smiling, trying to appear more friendly. She really just wanted to have a real conversation with someone.
